“oh.” therese’s brows creased as she looked at the old teapot that was being shown to her. “that’s a funny old thing.” she looked at alison again then, tilted her head slightly in questioning. “does it upset you?”
"this old thing? no. at least, i don't think so. if including this in my book is the most upsetting to me, then i'm pretty sure i'd have to reevaluate my life all over again. --thanks for coming, by the way. i know it's a lot of boxes, but..."

“ I had been intending on it, “ Quentin nodded quickly. In truth, he often planned on doing things only to find himself too depressed to go. But that hardly seemed the thing to tell her now. And since he couldn’t disappoint her, he would have to force himself to go.

She can definitely see that. "My book. My new book. It's called Fun Home." Had he really been going to the lecture without really knowing what it was about? She had thought he was different from the other college students he had described, but apparently not. Or maybe he was simply nervous.

"no, not a ghost." alison reached into the box and pulled out a tarnished old teapot. or...tea thing, whatever it was. "just this, therese. it was my father's, picked it up at some yard sale, i don't even know why I still have it around--"

"Oh--not at all. Actually...I am looking for the Circle in the Square theatre. I got turned around, and my phone died."
