Saraide simply shrugged when he spoke to her, “I once thought it was impossible to have lost someone you never knew but now I’m not so sure”.  She shook her head, looking away again, “I met his wife and my half siblings as they left Camelot but I’ve been told he wasn’t a very kind man before. I just wish I got to decide that for myself.”

“Surely if he had a wife and children he was a kind man? I can’t imagine someone unkind being able to find love and happiness in this world.” Biting at his lip, Osmund wondered himself what the girls father was like. “I’m sure you are able to make that conclusion on your own. He is your father after all, so he must have been kind to bring you into the world.”

Saraide’s lips pressed together in a pursed movement as she thought of what the woman she had been closest with had kept from her. “She kept the identity of my father from me, even when he was here in Camelot and he died before I even knew who he was,” she found no issue in being honest with him, despite not knowing much about him, she felt a calmness in his presence. 

Stepping beside her, choosing to lean against the railing of the balcony. “I am sorry for your loss Saraide..” He murmured. He knew the pain of losing someone close to you. Though, he was one of the lucky ones, when he found his brother was actually alive. “Do you know of him now? Certainly there are some close to you who can tell you stories of him.”

Saraide was silent for a few moments as she thought about how to answer him, her eyes moving to look over the castle grounds. She still had so much anger at the amount of secrets that had been kept from her that didn’t even want to speak to her mistress currently which lead to a backlash on others who were close to her also. “None that I can trust,” she said finally, her gaze returning to Osmund. 

When their eyes met, he saw something shining back at him. It was the usual happy sparkle he saw. There was a hurt there. An anger that he’d hoped he’d never see darken her eyes. “May I ask, what have they done to lose your trust? Just so that I can not suffer the same fate of seeing your darkened gaze.”

Saraide almost rolled her eyes at his comment but refrained from it. It was almost strange to her that she now knew the name of the Blue eyed wanderer, not in a bad way at all though. A smile moved over her face as she watched Apollo jump on Osmund’s hand before shaking her head at his question, “Not at all. He’s been a loyal companion truth be told… and I’m in much need of one of those lately,” she admitted to him as she sighed, reaching out to give the falcon a soft stroke.

“You’re in need of a companion?” Looking to the young girl confused for a moment, he watched as the falcon made itself comfortable beside Saraide. “What has happened to you, do you not have friends or family that you spend your time with?”

Watching Apollo come dowm from the skies, Osmund let a smile grace his lips. It was an almost heart warming sight to see the bird so happy with the woman. When her blunt statement came forward however, Osmund’s smile faltered. He had been keeping his name from her, from most people just out of habit. Though, he had seen her and interacted with her so many times, maybe the time was right? Especially seeing how keen his hawk was with her. Taking a slight step back, he bowed toward the young woman, blue hues trained on the ground before meeting hers. “Osmund. Osmund Ghiall.”

Saraide’s eyes returned to the falcon when she felt a little nudge at the hand that was resting on the balcony, a soft smile forming in her lips as she reached up to stroke him at his request. “You’re supposed to be a great predator of the skies, not cosying up to maidens,” she told him her voice only reprimanding jokingly. But the next words that came out of the stranger’s mouth made her freeze before she slowly turned to face him, taking her hand away from Apollo. “Osmund,” she repeated after a moment, as though testing it out on her tongue, letting any previous animosity dissipate. “It suits you”.

"I suppose that is why my parents deemed that a worthy name." His name was out there now. It wasn't just that he was called the wanderer or the tall stranger to her. He had a name. And by the gods did he love the sound of it on her lips. Turning his attention now to the bird, Osmund clicked his tongue before catching him on his hand. "He has been avoiding me for some time, I assume it's because he is more keen on watching you." Osmund didn't mind that Apollo had found a sort of purpose in his life. He was more concerned with the fact he wasn't able to care for the creature like he wanted. "He hasn't been a bother to you has he?"

Phase One II Osmund+Idelisa

They had gone about the room for what she hoped would be a sufficient amount to draw attention away from their slipping away. Each of them had taken turn in conversing with others even, just to play up that they were merely attendees rather than two people on a mission. She prayed that he was correct about this working. If it didn’t both of them could face imprisonment and perhaps sentences of death. “Alright, now” she agreed, gathering the basket of bread she had carried through the night closer to herself as she headed for the doors, “It’ll take me a moment to the key to his cell from the guards. Follow me down in maybe five minutes”. 

Those were the last instructions she gave before slipping through the doorway down to the dungeons. As she neared she discarded her mask into the basket, making sure it was hidden beneath the few loaves of bread she had brought with her. Guards would recognize her far better if they could see her face, especially since her ballroom attire exceeded the grandeur of her usual attire by leaps and bounds. “Good evening gentleman” she said in greeting to the two men on duty, “I’ve come to bring a bit of fresh bread to the prisoners. My father has also sent me with an oil of anointing so that I may say a prayer over them. I also believe there’s a bit of cloth so that I may redress the wounds of a few”. It was lucky she had come so much and the guards were used to permitting her entry to certain cells. They handed her the keys and sent her off with their usual words of advisement against whom to avoid. Idelisa began passing out her bread, buying a bit of time for Osmund overhead. 

Osmund watched the now closed door for a moment more before starting to put his plan into action. Shifting his cloak from his body he slipped on the leather gauntlets. If he was to act as if his birds were missing, he was going to look the part. Stepping to the balcony he let out a long short whistle. It only took a few moments for the sound of wings to fill the air. Arlo and Aragon joined him, he knew they would listen when he needed them to. Stepping back into the hall, he let out three quick whistles before watching the animals fly silently into the belfry of the ballroom. He heard a gasp or two from a few women but nothing much else. This was it, his only chance. 

Frowning a bit as he looked around, the man let out a long sigh. “Help...” He sighed before yelling louder. “Help! Someone please, my birds they’ve disappeared.” Quickly running into the hall, he paused when he heard steps coming up behind him. This was going to work. Hopefully, the guards in the dungeons would stay away long enough for Idelisa and his brother to be free.

Phase One II Osmund+Idelisa

“No” Idelisa affirmed. Usually, her father avoided events like this one. He and the master of the treasury spent time together, one to bemoan the expenditure and the other to take in his share of drink before what would assuredly be a busy week. Time and time again he had told her that dancing brought out the worst in people, and she did have to admit that some only sought their religious counsel after a full night of dancing and making far too merry. She took the hand that he offered her, nestling the little basket of supplies in closer to her side as she forced a smile to her face. “I’m nervous” she admitted, her voice still in a whisper. 

His hand flexed against her back, his own nerves starting to show. All this time he’d spent believing the only true kin he had left was gone, it was almost a bit too much for him to handle. “This will work, Idelisa. It has to.” They made another turn around the dance floor before he led her off. He was too impatient and he wanted to see his brother now. “Come, we should do this now. It appears that most of the guard is here, so we may only have to worry about just a few of them at the doors.” Stepping back to the hall and to the doors she had pointed out before, he gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “I shall make the distraction, get in and out as quickly as you can, I will meet you at my home in an hour.”

“I was invited.” He said with a bit of a coy smile. Stepping closer to her he lifted the mask he wore. “Are you enjoying yourself Saraide?” Resting his mask on the ledge he let his gaze drift to the view. It was a rather amazing sight. Houses dotted the ground, most of them lit with smoke swirling from the chimneys. 

“I see,” Saraide replied, her eyebrows raising slightly. He always seemed like he was holding back a secret and given everything that was going on in her life right now… the people closest to her keeping secrets, she wasn’t exactly warm to that. “I suppose,” was all the came in response as frown moved over her features. “You know I still have no idea who you are,” she told him almost abruptly as she took off her mask just as she heard a familiar bird call, swiftly followed by the little Falcon that she was so familiar with now appearing on the ledge. “Well hello again,” she smiled, stroking his chest gently as he seemed to look directly at him. She turned to look at the blue eyed man again, her eyes already softening, “I’ve given up trying to shoo him away, he’s always hanging around by my window or on the back of a chair if he’s feeling bold.”

Idelisa subtly lead him from where they had been rooted, leading him towards a door just behind the raised dais where the royals could sit if they so wished. “Just beyond this door there’s a servant corridor. It branches off in two directions, the first to the outside of the castle. It’s a path that will lead straight to the churchyard and my father, but most importantly it’ll get you outside. The second branch will lead to a series of stairs that descend into the dungeons” she replied, standing close to the man and whispering vehemently. Hopefully onlookers just hoped that the couple was flirting rather than conspiring. “Should we go once or twice about the room? Dance perhaps?”

"Your father isn’t in the church tonight is he? The last thing we need is to have any of us getting caught by him.” He hadn’t learned much about the girls father, but from what she had mentioned of him, he didn’t seem like the pleasant type. “I think that may be the best idea, before the mild madness ensues. I’d like to see what we are up against.” Adjusting the mask on his face, Osmund turned to lead the woman toward the party. Once in the hall, the man took in a breath. So many masked faces, so many people to watch and be careful of. Stepping back from her, Osmund bowed, like he’d seen so many others do before holding out his hand. “I do believe once around the room should suffice.”

When Saraide realised who it was she turned to look at him more fully. “Oh, you’re not disturbing me,” she smiled after a moment, tucking a small strand of hair that had come lose behind her ear. “I didn’t expect to see you here,” she added, realising she still didn’t actually know his name.

‘God’ Idelisa began her prayer the moment she stepped in the crowded ballroom, shifting the heavy cloak from her shoulders ‘please, watch over us tonight and keep us safe from whatever harm may come our way. Please, I know this goes against your plan for us - for him - but we all really need you right now to guide us through whatever may be’. Gently, she folded the cloak into the basket they had brought along as part of their ploy - making absolutely certain that the mask was still hidden beneath a few loaves of bread. Just days ago she and Osmund had met once more and she had taken it as the sign she had been praying for. The poor man hadn’t even known his brother still lived. Of course, they had to hatch a plan. “Are you ready?” she questioned, glancing to the man who was pretending to escort her with a hopeful grin on her face.

His mind was still reeling from the events of the past few days. He had learned his brother was not dead, he was alive in the dungeons of the castle. Truth be told, when the red haired woman on his arm spoke of his brother, he thought it to be some sort of trick. He’d already met a sorcerer of sorts, he figured she was of the same cloth. A few more conformations and a lengthy conversation later and here they were. His free hand clenched and un-clenched at his side, he was nervous. Though he had good right to be. Breaking someone out of dungeons of Camelot. “As ready as I shall ever be.” Looking down at her, her smile seemed to put him at ease. “Which way are the dungeons from here?”

Saraide never really liked being the centre of attention. She had danced with a few men who had offered but retreated to the sidelines quickly after that. As soon as she heard the announcement of another dance, she darted out of the main hall with her drink in hand. After a moment of consideration, she slipped through a door that lead to a small balcony. She was enjoying the silence until she heard the door open behind her and she turned to look at her company.

There was far too much at stake here tonight. Far more than he would have liked to admit. Idelisa had gone off to make sure the guards were away, and now it was Osmund’s turn to do his part. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, he stepped out onto a close by balcony. Only to find the space was occupied. “I’m sorry, I did not mean to disturb you.”

Osmund isn’t here to enjoy the party. He is here with a mission in mind. With Idelisa on his arm, he enters the party, but only to then slip away to the dungeons to find his brother, who until this moment he did not know was still alive. Once they deed is done, Osmund is not sure if he should leave, or to find a dark haired fairly clumsy woman, whom he’d come to enjoy keeping company with.

“The animal?” Oh she was infuriated now, it was one thing to insult her, another to insult Clementine but then at the mention of her brother and the way he’d seen her before her hand wanted to smack the look right off his face. Maybe that, and gouge his eyes out. “The only animal I see is you, a right monster.” Arching her brow at the mention of her looks no, he didn’t get to do that. “And you, still as brutish and deplorable as before. I suppose it’s difficult for you to be anything but…once an arse always an arse,” she shrugged. Kissing the top of Clementine’s head her gaze turned into one of pity. “Though I suppose a man of your birth knows nothing of a better life.” With that Goldie decided she was bored with the situation making her way back towards the carriage. 

“You know nothing of my birth or the life I lead, so do not speak as if you do.” Watching as the woman retreated, Osmund could only shake his head. He never liked people like that, those who seemed to look down their nose at others who dared to disagree with what they deemed improper. Letting out a short but curt whistle, it only took a moment before a rustle of wings could be heard. His falcon seemed to break through the clouds, only to land atop the womans carriage.

Idelisa sought solace in the silence of the rolling grasses just outside the protective walls Camelot had to offer her. The cool, crisp air and the utter lack of noise pollution giving her the space she needed to organize her thoughts. She never could have imagined that look she had seen in his eyes, the way that he had held her like she was about to break or the way that his lips felt against hers. Unbidden, her hands drifted to her lips before falling as she finally caught someone not so far off in the grasses as well. Even at this distance she was able to recognize the angles of his face. They had met once, but hadn’t exchanged names. The man with the falcon. “Do you frequent here as well?” she called to him, wondering if she would need to find a new location to collect herself when her mind was buzzing.

Lifting a brow when he heard a voice, turning to find its source, the man watched the woman for a moment. “A fair more than usual.” He said, watching as his falcons soared through the skies. He’d spent more and more time away from camp as of late, finding it more intriguing to be int he fields instead. Usually came with a chance to see Saraide if he was careful. “And you, do you often come through here often as well?”

Saraide drew her knees up as she threw stones at the water, she was trying not to think of anything as she sat there since so much was going on in her mind. She really though of herself as a forgiving person but, if she was honest with herself, she had no idea how to forgive Viviane. Her father had been in Camelot all along and she never got to meet him. 

It was the screech of a bird that caught her eye, watching as the little thing circled around her before it came to land on her knee, causing her to jump. “Hey there little guy,” she greeted, only to hear a familiar voice shout across the lake. “On you go now, I think your master wants you,” she told the little falcon as it perched on her knee looking at her. Even a little nudge of her knee did little to dissuade him as he only flapped his wings and remained where he was. “Oh dear…” she muttered to herself before glancing back across the lake at the blue eyed stranger. Saraide let out a breath of air, deciding that the only way to get the falcon to fly off was to stand up. In theory it should have but instead when she stood up he came to rest surprisingly gently on her shoulder. “Okay, well I’ll walk you around to him then you’ll need to go on you way,” she turned her head to speak to him, noting how he seemed to stare back. Her feet carried her around the lake, careful to watch her footing so she didn’t catapult the falcon into oblivion. Once she reached the man she spoke up, “I think this little man might belong to you”.

Watching as Sariade came forward, a hint of a smile seemed to pull at the corner of his lips. Though it was quickly dispelled and his usual pensive look was put back in place. “Apollo seems to have a mind of his own as of late.” He murmured, holding his arm out for the animal to come to him, though was not the least bit surprised when it seemed to move closer to the young maidens head. “Did you feed him or something?” Osmund questioned, honestly rather annoyed. 

With a short quick and loud whistle, a few of his other birds he’d been training broke from the tree line to land either on his person or on some branches just a few yards away. “How is it that we are always meeting in the woods? It would seem like you are trying to get away from something every time I see you.”

Saraide was once again exiting the palace and off on a walk where no one would bother her. She had been much quieter than post people knew her to be and tried to do as much of her work alone as she could. She still couldn’t bring herself to speak to Viviane outwith the things she had to speak to her about. Her eyes moved up as the sky, noting that it was beginning to dull, making way for the night that was to come. She knew it was safer to stay in the palace but she couldn’t bear to be in the walls longer than she had to be. 

Her shoes trudged along the road that led to the lake where she knew that she would be left alone by most people. As she approached the water, her foot caught on a stone and she landed on her bottom with a oof. Instead of getting up Saraide just sat there, throwing some little pebbles into the water as she pulled her knees up to her chest.

Osmund smiled a bit as he watched his beloved hawk circle the lake in search of food. The man who’d brought him back to life was right. There was a difference in his friend. The animal seemed more apt to hunt than he used to be. Then on the other hand, when it wasn’t hunting it was never more than an arms reach away from its handler. He had to admit, Osmund felt a comfort in that. While Algar searched the waters for fish, the falcnoer’s attention was on a few new birds who had recently hatched from their eggs. They were all big enough now that they could start to train, though he seemed to have a fondness for one of the smaller hawks from the cast. 

“Go on now...” He murmured softly. “Go ahead, try and fly.” The smaller falcon let out a screech before heading to the other side of the lake, where a figure had stumbled from the brush. Brow furrowing, he watched as the creature circled the figure before landing on the knee of the figure. “Apollo!” He called out. “Leave them alone!”
