Today’s compilation:

Punk Bites 1996 Punk Rock / Skate Punk / Ska-Punk

Back in April, I posted a punk comp from 1999 called Serial Killer Compilation and wrote the following:

Pretty decent round-up of late 90s punk tunes in which Westminster, CA’s Fearless Records was able to license a bunch of songs from other Cali-based labels and put together a nice snapshot of the state’s multi-pronged punk landscape at the time.

Welp, that same description of Serial Killer applies to this other Fearless comp, too, Punk Bites (Kid Tested; Mother Disapproved!), but rather than serving as a solid snapshot of the late 90s, this one tackles the mid-90s instead. Solid helpings of anthemic and speedy skate kind of stuff come from this crop of largely forgotten bands throughout this CD, but the vast majority of its great tunes can be found in the first half, with Diesel Boy, The Vandals (not forgotten), Strung Out (also not forgotten), Blount, White Kaps, and Drunk in Public standing out especially.
