.・゜゜・☽ @fmdminjung ┊ huiseon took her position as leader semi-seriously. she didn’t push it on the others as a sign of power. but she did see it as her job as both the leader and one of the oldest members to make sure the members of fuse were successful. but she didn’t praise them for every insignificant achievement they made. she found that to be the norm. an idol was supposed to strive for perfection. or as close to perfection as they could get.
it was funny minjung hated her so much. the younger girl hasn’t even gotten to know her. if she did she’d learn that this is never what she wanted. she never wanted to be an idol. she didn’t feel that she was the shit. she was average at best. and she isn’t afraid to admit that. sooah it seemed was the only member she cared for. that didn’t bother her in the slightest. she and minjung had a strictly professional relationship. in the dorms and outside of practice and schedules they stayed as far away from each other as possible.
and she tried to keep fights to a minimum. she wasn’t one for confrontation. she didn’t go out looking for them, but she wasn’t afraid to end them. minjung was a firecracker and that sometimes wasn’t a good thing. “stay in my lane. minjung i never stray from my lane. and even if i did i’m allowed to. you may not care that i’m leader but i still am. and you will respect me as a coworker and a human being. i don’t care if you don’t like me but you will not let that interfere with our career.”
summary : huiseon contemplates her future solo career.
notes : semi-edited. i hate most of this, but i’m going to post it anyway.
the last few months have been hectic. with a comeback and promotions fuse was pretty busy up until the end of september. but now they were in prep mode. it seemed gold star didn’t have anything planned for fuse until next year. they’d be able to focus on end of year award shows.
along with general practice they also had a shoot lined up for november. and last month they had their shoot for seasons greeting.
group shoots weren’t uncommon. she enjoyed them. she enjoyed being photographed. she believes the main reason gold star accepted her was because of her looks. at the time of her audition. being able to pose for a photoshoot with her group made her proud. she was sitting in the dressing room getting fitted for her outfit. it was classy. the whole theme for the shoot seemed to be classy.
mature.
sophisticated.
fuse has had their image changed a lot over the years. the last few comebacks have been a mix of whimsical and horror. she believes they were past their cutesy debut days. and for this she was relieved.
sitting on set made her realize this is where she belonged. she was always photogenic. also had no problem strutting down a hall. she was confident in the way she carried herself. and she knew she was beautiful. most idols were.
she stood to the side of the table waiting for her members to take their position. she wasn’t in the spotlight. but she didn’t mind. she let her girls take the spotlight whenever they could. as the leader it was her job to make sure her members were at their best. they all deserved the spotlight.
the photographer after fixing their positions moved to the front and started clicking the shutter of the camera snapping a couple of pictures.
after the photographer snapped a couple of shots he picked them one by one to do their solo shoot.
once finished with the first group shoot they ran to the dressing room to do an outfit change. again they followed the classy look. she changes into another black dress with for the second group photo.
they return to the backdrop and once again take their position. the photographer snaps a couple of photos and they return to the dressing. this time dressing for their solo shoot. she’s in another dress. this one plaid with a white collar.
as the leader huiseon went first. and being the sole person in front of the camera made her feel like the only person in the room. she loved the feeling of being on the backdrop. she felt like a goddess and that she was beautiful. and she liked feeling that way. sometimes she didn’t feel like she was all that beautiful. she felt that others outshine her in both looks and talent. modeling was where she was able to shine. and she embraced it. but it wasn’t until last month on the red carpet that she decided she wanted to make a career of this.
a table was brought to her where she was instructed to sit with her arms on the table and her head held high. she felt like a businesswoman ready to do whatever had to be done. she got up and sat to the side at the computer where the photos where being displayed on the computer screen. and she was happy with how it turned out. she looked the way she felt.
after viewing her photos she sat to the side out of the way to watch the rest of her girls. they all looked stunning. but she was happy when it was finished.
she returned to the dressing once more after this shot was taken.
this time she wears a plaid of the shoulder shirt and black pants. this was for the small group photos. her partner is miyeon.
it was their usual small group shoot. nothing new or ground breaking. she didn’t expect much from it.
after finishing up they head back to the dressing room where they dress in the clothes they came in. they walk out and head toward the van where they’ll be driven to the company. from there they would mostly disperse to do whatever they had to do to be ready for practice tomorrow.
they had just finished up their one major schedule and the rest of the month was free. they where free to do whatever they wanted after practice.
in the fan she sighed with a relived sigh and closed her eyes as the she swayed the movement of the van.
full of life. that’s the what she is every day. she’s a lot of things but most importantly she’s happy. optimistic. glass half full. she tries to see the good in everyone. find the good in every situation. and that’s not to say she doesn’t have her days. but she makes sure those days don’t change who she is. if she let the world affect who she is she wouldn’t enjoy life. she’d rather embrace the world than hide from it.
summary : huiseon doesn’t love the seasons greeting shoot.
2020 was coming to an end in less than four months. it seemed like time was flying by. the thought of filming another seasons greeting reminded her of how fast the years ends. fuse has done so much this year. and she proud how far her group has come. and she knew 2021 would be another turbulent year. for her specifically with her solo career goals now in mind.
she’s made memories. she was happy with how 2020 was turning out. but the end of another year was always bittersweet. it was another year gone and she was another year older. november would mark her 28 birthday. and she felt nothing as far as birthdays went.
fuse had just gotten back from their chuseok holiday. and she was happy to come back and know that fuse had a laid back month ahead of them. their promotions just finished up last month and she liked the idea of a break. they would still be practicing, but they’d been doing that since their trainee days.
the only thing on this months agenda was a shoot for their seasons greeting. it was a bit early to be shooting photos for the new year but she didn’t mind getting it over with. they would be posing with plushies of the animal they choose.
she was ready for filming but now all she had to do was figure out the animal she would use in her shoot. she had no idea what animal to choose.
she spent the weeks leading up to the shoot sorting through animals. she wanted something elegant. and she tried to think of all the ways gold star could try to incorporate the animal she chose into her shoot.
in the end she chose a tiger. a symbol of resilience, strength, and wisdom. something she’s always had is strength. these were all things people strived for.
she just hoped that the staff didn’t take it in an overly cute direction. although with the image they’ve been pushing them toward it shouldn’t be a problem.
content with her choice she was ready to see what gold star was planning to do. the outfits they choose and what the plush actually looked like.
she walked into the dressing room and was greeted by the stylist walking in after her. she waited for the stylist to hand her outfit they had chosen. she went behind the curtain and got changed. it was simple a tan colored blouse with a black skirt. it was simple but she enjoyed the simplicity. after getting dressed she allowed the makeup artist to complete the look. once finished she walked out of the dressing room to heads toward the set. on set they had a black tarp covering the floor. in the center was a stool covered with a white cloth. she followed the instructions of the photographer and sat on the stool. she was handed a small plush tiger. she set the tiger on her legs making sure it faced the camera while striking a pose placing her hands on either side of her. she struck multiple poses in that position before being instructed to get up. she bowed to the photographer before leaving the set heading back to the dressing room. she wasn’t completely satisfied with the shoot but it would do. she just hoped the photos would turn out decently.
summary : huiseon battles her nerves before performing on our song
huiseon never thought she’d make a career out of singing. her voice wasn’t unique enough to make it big. that is as a solo artist at least. in a group she felt she could blend among the group. her voice made a good accompiniment to her members. her voice blended well with the inque voices of her members. her job was to make her girls look good. her position in fuse surprised her. her role was a major part of the group's discography.
she could rap but she wasn’t the most confident in her vocals. and she made sure sung knew that. from day one in the coffee shop after listening to the demo she asked if he was sure she could perform this. she had faith in his ability as a songwriter . it was the faith in her performing abilities that was shaky. he assured her she had this. he had written this song with her in mind. he knew her voice. throughout revisions and recording he reassured her that this song was made for her.
but no matter how much he reassured her she just couldn’t shake this feeling. the feeling she was going to fail him. she was the sunbae she couldn’t let him down.
she sat in her our song waiting room preparing for her performance. as she sat their her nerves only got worse. and while sung wasn’t being judged on her performance she still wanted to do the best performance she could do. she knew that her performance could affect his chances of elimination.
she had spent most of october meeting up with sung to finalize the track and prepare for the recording. november 1 her demo was released to the world. and she was proud of it. she was glad that this piece she worked so hard got was the one being judged. but now she had to perform it on stage. she didn’t have stage fright but this song was out of her comfort zone and she wished she had more time to practice. she was second in the order of performers. it felt like no time had passed before she was being called to the stage. she entered the stage, grabbed the mic and waited for the music to start pouring from the speaker. she sang to the best of her ability. she poured her heart and soul into the song. it was a message to a lover. a women asking her lover to love her more. an ultimatum of sorts. love me or leave me. it was for all those in a loveless relationship. she may not have written it but she was glad she got to perform it. it was an important message in a pretty wrapping. sung did this one right. she kept her eyes foucis on the crowd. trying to connect with as many audience members as she could. trying to find those who were moved by it. those are the people who have her the fire she needed to make it through. she finished her performance before bowing and exiting the stage. she looked out at the crowd as she exited the stage seeing mixed expressions from the crowd.
she despite all her worry was proud of her performance. this song was a big leap and she felt she landed on the other side. it may not have been perfect. but for now it was enough.
she liked it. huiseon liked the song he’d been accidentally writing for her. sung let out his breath, transforming it into a wide smile. the nerves he’d been feeling only moments before started trickling out of him one by one, to scamper off to the garbage where they belonged.
it seemed he wasn’t the only one worried here, though. his hand reached out to settle light fingers over her wrist. “i know you can.” a light squeeze. “actually, that’s what i wanted to talk about. my, um, my mind’s kind of going a hundred miles an hour now.” he let out a nervous chuckle and took his hand back to fold with his other atop the table. “so, when i saw you, it, like, clicked in my head? we haven’t worked together in this capacity before, but i think i know your voice pretty well from listening to it so much, and i think, it would be better, if maybe i could rework the lyrical melody? something more like a sing-rap the whole way through, so it stays in a more comfortable range. like-” sung paused his sentence then to turn his computer to the side so they both could look at it. he muted the vocal demo lines, scrubbed forward, and pressed play. the scrub had managed to stop a few lines before the chorus, and when the chorus came in, sung tried out a modified version of it, using a series of ‘duh’ sounds instead of the actual words -mostly to not embarrass himself by trying to actually sing in a coffee shop. “something like that. more staccato, and a tighter range of notes, so it’s halfway between singing and rapping.” his eyes left the computer to look at huiseon more directly. “you have this beautiful breathiness to your singing voice that i think suits r&b very well, but i’m not going to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. i’d need to you trust me, and trust yourself, too.”
it would be a blatant lie if she said she wasn’t nervous. she was fine with performing. with a group or on her own she didn’t care. she just always thought she’d be rapping when she made her solo debut. she was a vocalist but she didn’t really sing. they had main and lead vocalist for that. she was a rapper first. hell she was a dander before she was a singer. growing up she’d never thought she’d be faced with this situation. she sometimes has a hard time accepted that she was an idol. she didn’t have the experience that most other idols do. she sometime believes that gold star accepted her on accounts of her looks and not her talent.
she found joy in seeing sung so exited to finish the song. and she found comfort in his light touches. she lets out a sigh as he squeezed and she can’t help but smile. she listens to him as he speaks. word tumbling out. coming out fast like she assumes his thoughts are. she smiles once again when he mentions he’s familiar with her voice. he must be familiar with fuse’s discography. she appreciated how sure he sounded. he felt she could do it. she watches him as he turns his laptop towards her so she could see the screen. she scoots closer so she can see the screen better. and she liked what she was hearing as she looked at the screen listening to the melody he was creating in the moment. it seemed more realistic for her. something she could see herself doing without being completely thrown out of her comfort zone. “i think that could work. and if you think i can do it then i’m going to trust you.” she always trusted him. she just needs to learn to trust herself. she’d talented. she’d just gotta take a leap.
How have things been going with you and your partner? Were you surprised by who you were paired with? i feel me and sung have hit it off musically speaking. we’ve been working together and he’s taken my worries and has tried to solve them to the best of his abilities. i guess i’m surprised, but not really. when being randomly paired with someone you have to be ready for anything.
How do you feel about the song your partner has written for you? i like what I got all things considered. it matched what i wanted in a weird way. but i’ll take it. there where some issues i had with it. something was missing, but i feel he fixed it up perfectly.
Do you have any concerns about recording or performing the song? she was open with her worries but she couldn’t reveal everything. no. i think i’ll do okay. she was okay with being honest among idols, but there are some things the fans can’t know.
What kind of song do you hope to be given to record and perform? i would like to perform a song with heavy r&b influences. i am a rapper first and vocalist second. i just feel a rap heavy song would work best with my voice.
Would you rather the idol songwriter who is writing for you take your opinion into consideration or do you believe they’ll know best? while i think the songwriter will know what’s best i believe that it’s important that it’s a collaborative project. i know my voice best and i feel it’s important they listen to my opinion.
Out of all of the idol songwriters in the cast (Silhouette’s Youngjoo, Knight’s Taeyong, Origin’s Joohwan, Fuse’s Suji, Unity’s Jaewon, and Element’s Sun), is there one you feel you’d work with the best due to their usual style? If so, why? as far as sound goes i would say taeyong or joohwan. their sound matches what i’m personally looking for when it comes to my sound. their style matches my strengths. as for concepts i would have to say youngjoo or suji. they’re the only females left and if anyones going to write about female empowerment it would obviously be another female.
summary : huiseon discovers she can use her good looks to her advantage.
notes : development for her solo career.
huiseon has been in the spotlight for 5 years. it’s hard for her to fathom that. growing up she never thought she’d be where she’s at now. she had plans and dreams but life had other plans for her. she can blame her brother for her career. it wasn’t much but she was proud of it.
company hosted events were common. halloween was no different. for the second year gold star would be hosting a halloween party. and she was excited. the theme was a bummer. the whole point of halloween was to dress up and they’re given a dress code. but she’d make the most of it.
she was happy with the dress she and her stylish agreed on. the short pale pink dress didn’t exactly scream runaway princes. but if anything it at least hinted at a rebellious streak. you wouldn’t catch most princesses in a dress like this.
she found herself in her apartment pulling the dress over her head. she looked at herself for a minute in the full body mirror hanging on her wall. after that she walked over to desk with her makeup neatly placed on the shelf she bought specifically for the purpose of holding her makeup. eyeliner, eyeshadow, and her favorite shade of lipstick. she was simplistic in her makeup. and most runaway princesses wouldn’t go all out with their makeup to just run.
she walked to the living room before grabbing her over the shoulder bag. a pale pink handbag with a gold chain to throw over your shoulder.
she then finds herself walking out the door in her ballgown on the way to the bus so she could make it the company in time to board the bids in time for the event to start. if she was being honest she felt ridiculous. she was quite the scene. a women in her late 20’s waking down the road in a ballgown. and she knew some people probably recognized her as the leader of fuse.
she found the nearest bus and waited patiently for the next bus. she was relieved when she saw it pull up to the bus stop. she jumped on happy that her dress was short. and didn’t necessarily scream wealth. she sat the whole ride scrolling through her phone.
she hoped at the nearest stop to gold star and made her way there were they would wait for the vans to transport each group and artist.
again she passed the time by scrolling though her phone and taking a break in the recording booth to practice. in seven days she had to perform for the our song audience. an hour or so before the event started they boarded the vans.
as the arrived she saw other idols exiting their vans walking down the red carpet. as the van came to a stop a man she could only assume was staff opening the door waving them out. she stepped out first strutting down the red carpet stopping every now and then for the camera to capture her. if she where being honest she enjoyed modeling. as a member of fuse she’d had her fair share of magazine editorials. but it was always with another member of her group. some solo shoots but those solo photos where always a part of a bigger group shoot. it was walking down the red carpet that she realized two things.
one. she wouldn’t mind walking down a cat walk.
and two. she wouldn’t mind a solo magazine shoot.
she could use her pretty face to her advantage. and she must have been attractive if she was accepted by gold star. because it couldn’t have been from her talent.
she continued to walk down the red carpet until she reached the entrance to the main room. stepping of the red carpet she entered the main room and then proceeded to trip. luckily for her she had passed all the cameras and not so graceful fall wasn’t captured on camera.
she would have to work on balance but she could see a promising future in modeling.

COMMENTS
[+508, -24] ah, so they aren’t revealing who wrote the songs yet? it’s hard to guess…
[+406, -50] more people should listen to the songs from the show… i’m amazed the songs aren’t charting. some of them are a lot better than the singles kids are putting out these days
[+183, -23] everyone singing the songs is really good. the producers cast the episode well… more people will start watching before the finale
[+107, -20] i feel that kami and eunah would have done really well with this challenge ㅜㅜ bring them back for the finale!
the energy bursting out of sung might have well had transformed into a sound wave in some shrill shout, yet since physics prohibited that, all of the excitement needed to stay within sung. he took the opportunity with a swiftness, scrambling over to the seat across from huiseon. “gosh, i was just so nervous to- and you’re- ugh,” both of his hands reached out to grab one of huiseon’s, holding it between his, “i’m so glad to have a familiar face to work on this with.”
sung gave a hearty squeeze to huiseon’s hand, as his cheeks pinched his eyes, then let go of her hand to slide his backpack around to his front. “i’m okay on a drink, though, thank you. i’m not so sure coffee is the best idea when i’m so hopped up on this meeting.” a weak joke, but one nonetheless. he opened up his bag to take out a laptop, and set it, and the bag, on the table, with the laptop far enough off of the bag that the label was still visible to the main camera filming the two of them. after typing in his password, away from the cameras, sung turned the laptop to huiseon’s side. he dug through another pocket of the bag for headphones to give her, while he spoke, “so, this may be a little sudden, but i’d like to get your overall opinions first so we can have more time to discuss the plans going forward after. it’s not near finished at this point. the composition is almost there, but, i struggled, i must say, not knowing who i was writing for.” he glanced over at her, hesitation crawling up his throat for his next statement. “knowing it’s you, i have some new ideas coming to mind,” a pause as he finally untangled the headphones, and handed them over to huiseon, “but first, please listen and let me know what you think.”
she smiles up at the younger male as he sits in the chair across from her in a swift manner she admires. his excitement is palpable. and despite his excitement he still walks and sits almost gracefully. huiseon was his senior in both age and experience. but he had made the most out of his career. element debuted only three years ago. he’s done so much in the time he’s been given. and his career didn’t stop with music. meanwhile huiseon has only released an ost.
“i’m glad to see you too.” and she was. she loved working with her labelmates. she lets out a small laugh at his joke. “i guess you're right. caffeine wouldn’t be the best idea. i think your energetic enough.” she watches as he takes out his laptop and types in his password while sipping on her cafe au lait. after he gets the screen he wants up he turns the laptop towards her while reaching in to his bag once again to pull out headphones. she listens to him as he speaks. and as he speaks she realized she’s nervous. she doesn’t know much about composition and lyric writing. and she’s confident in sungs composing and lyrics. if she where being honest she probably wouldn’t even be able to tell that it was incomplete. she just isn’t sure how she’ll handle performing it. she takes the headphones from his hand and places it over her ears pressing play. and like she thought it was good. but like sung had said it sounded incomplete. even she could hear that. “i like it. something seems to be missing though. i know that you can fix it though. but are you sure i’ll be able to perform it.” she was confident in her rapping ability. it was her vocal abilities she’s worried about. and the song relied heavily on both.
