Ending Song for Film:
From my recent idea of the ending song for the film. I had wanted to explain that for the ending, I wanted to have a song that was the opposite feeling of the setting, such as the ending being sad, I was thinking to have an upbeat sort of music or happy, I thought I wold do this because I wanted it to express how despite Eddie dying, things carry on as normal and Monica doesn’t do the things she wants. I also wanted to get the audience angry and for them to understand Monica doesn’t do what she wants and sort of gives up.Â
But after finding the song ‘I’ll never smile again’ by Tommy Dorsey & His orchestra, I decided that instead of using a happy song, I’ll use this sad song. The reason I delevoped my idea and changed it is in the end I understand that happy or sad song, the audience would be angry with the ending and having an upbeat song at the end of this film, some audience members not fully understand, no I thought it be better to put a sad song, to express the sadness from Monica in the film.Â
This song is quite long, so in post production, I will have to edit some of it down, so it would work perfectly and be able to stop neatly after the credits. For exmaple the start of the song with the up beat paino keys, I will edit that out cause it will seem out of place in the scene. I am also thinking about how I wil use the song, there are two ways, either it come on just before we see credits, or my other idea was to have the song come on as we see Monica crying at the shelf and her mother trying to comfort her. The reason I want to do this is; that it will flow well and have the audience feel the emotion in the music.
