BIM Project 1: Work In Progress
For this project, I have chosen a Semi-D bungalow from my Internship as my Revit Model.
First, I used the existing Autocad plans as a reference
Then grid reference lines were created on the plans
Grid lines were also created on the elevations based on the floor height. Then, walls were created on the ground floor and the top of the walls were CONSTRAINED to level 2
The 400m thick floor slab was created using the SKETCH PATH tool
The EDIT TYPE was used for both the walls and the floor respectively to apply the structural and finish materials. The same was done to the second floor and third floor.
For the balcony, a separate floor was created with a CERAMIC TILE finish. The level if the balcony was also dropped by 50mm
Voids for the staircases were then made on the floor slabs using the EDIT BOUNDARY tool. The fire wall partition was also made to separate 2 semi-Ds
The slanted roof was then created using the ROOF BY EXTRUSION method
The fire wall was then extended using EDIT BOUNDARY tool to connect withe the roof
The roof material was then changed to DEFAULT ROOF as there is a lack of material in the library
Family 1: Common Door
This was created using NEW>FAMILY>METRIC DOOR. The SWEEP tool was used to PICK PATH the outline of the door. The hinges were then drawn on the plan and the door was extruded. Reference lines were used to lock the solids into place.
Family 2: Folding Door
The width of the door was changed to 2000mm and the same SWEEP tool was used to make the hinges. The door was then extruded using elevation and void forms were also put in it along with glass. it was then copied to make the sliding door.
