These photos were taken 41 days apart by the president’s photographer. The first one on the 23rd of February, the last day of peaceful Ukraine. The second one in Bucha today.
antiwar protest live on air on Russian TV.
"stop the war. don't believe propaganda, they're lying to you"
to add some context: this is the First Channel, a Russian federal channel and the most important one here. the woman behind the news reporter is another First Channel employee who barged in the studio LIVE and showed this. it wasn't planned by the channel. as far as I know, they fired her or they will soon. but this woman has balls of steel.
Marina Ovsyannikova is now arrested.
She also put out a video today saying she’s “ashamed of working for Kremlin propaganda,” per one ABC reporter’s translation (Russian-speakers feel free to verify if this correct)
Update: she was fined for the video.
On Tuesday, Ovsyannikova was found guilty by a district court in Moscow of organizing an "unauthorized public event." The "administrative offense" carries a fine of 30,000 rubles ($280). A lawyer who had formerly been representing Ovsyannikova told CNN that the administrative charge was based solely on a video statement that she recorded prior to appearing with an anti-war poster on Channel One.
