Muji notebooks drown my desk, along with any other stationery associated products ✌🏻️
08.07.18
my classes are back and i already want them to be over oof but i still have 4 months to go so i’d better start doing something productive am i right
some messy history notes i made this weekend even tho i wasn’t feeling like it
study moods by subject
chemistry: a seat in the first row, diligent note taking, falling asleep in a textbook, color coded sticky notes but with no real system, fingers running across old ink
literature: studying in bed, a cat snoozing on the pillow, orchestral movie soundtracks playing softly, rereading passages that were absentmindedly passed through
math: strong cups of coffee, graph paper planners, crowded lecture halls, a furrowed brow, warm sweaters, that one special spot in the library
history: clicking pens, stacks and stacks of books, annotations in the margins, study sessions spread out on the floor, flickering candles, working in complete silence
biology: colorful illustrations, well worn flashcards, reusable water bottles, always breaking pencil lead, carefully drafting important emails
art: getting lost in readings, pastry and a coffee, receipts repurposed as bookmarks, love for rainy days, in class hand raising anxiety, a whirlwind of a backpack
world languages: early mornings, a deep seated quizlet addiction, studying with friends, practicing presentations aloud in an empty room, fidgeting in chairs, detailed study guides
engineering: hands running through hair, cups of tea either drank while they’re too hot or entirely forgotten, typing quickly, the sound as hallways fill in between classes
music: stretching fingers after long periods of writing, 11:59 submission for a 12:00 deadline, celebrating the completion of a task with something sweet, deep respect for teachers
Some study tips for faster note taking/ when you can’t keep up with the professor
1. If the professor allows, bring out your laptop and type out the notes on the microsoft word or bring out your phone and type down notes.
2. If the professor speaks too fast, voice record the lecture and listen to it once you get home. You do not want to be left behind from your lessons, right? So better do it.
3. Again if the professor allows you to bring out your phone, take pictures of the slides if the pacing is really fast. (What I do is I use the notes app on the iPhone and take pics of the slides then under those pics, I will insert some notes and I will either type it out on the laptop and print it or write it)
4. If possible and you’re too lazy to even take down notes, take pictures of the lecture slides while voice recording the lecture.

I don’t know where this came from but I NEEDED it
29.05.2019 // I was having a really hard time focusing on my exam writing and I couldn’t understand why. Then I realised that I hadn’t eaten any breakfast! Breakfast is so so important to me because my brain won’t function properly without any food. Only a couple of days left until summer break!!
-09/05/2019-
English exam finished!!! I never have to do english again! The SQA has finally shown mercy and gave us a good essay question
Have a good weekend folks :) xx

I got up at 6.45 this morning because I heard somewhere that the difference between you and someone who is successful is what you do in your 24 hours, so I’m really trying maximise my time because a levels are kicking my ass big time!!!!!! very stressed.
I’m wishing you all the coffee and Eve Bennett revision dedication in the world x
types of study breaks for every situation
if you realize you’ve been studying for hours: grab a snack to refuel your body and watch a sitcom to refuel your brain. then back to the books.
if you’re feeling stressed out: take some deep breaths, text your friends, maybe stare at a wall for a few minutes. gather yourself.
if you can’t seem to focus: get moving and get outside. take out the garbage, check your mail box, maybe walk your dog. just get moving and get fresh air. it’ll help bring you back.
if there’s something else going on in your life and you can’t get it off your mind: write down what’s going through your head, sort of like a diary entry. it’ll help you work things out.
if you’re just mentally and physically exhausted: set a timer for 25-30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and you’ll hit REM and you’ll wake up feeling just as tired. once you wake up, get some caffeine in you.
if the material is boring as hell: find another way to study. see if there’s a crash course video online about it or draw out what you’re trying to learn in diagrams and pictures to make it fun.
if people around you won’t shut up: listen to some music. soundtrack and classical music is always good because they won’t absorb you as much as music with lyrics. white noise (like ocean waves, rain sounds, etc.) also works.
if you only half understand a concept: call/message a friend who’s not in the class and try to teach the material to them. this will help you mentally work through the material and will help you remember it as well.
a reminder for finals 💖 take breaks and take care of yourselves! best of luck!
you got this!

100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY [21/100] - Back where I began
I’m reigniting my 100 days, starting where I left off. Even though currently I’m not at university, I’m still trying to find ways to be productive. Today I made a start on my colloquial Norwegian book which I have been dying to start for months!
