I just... I just want Foggy back
reassembling my mattfoggy divorced moodboard. them....
“What my partner is trying to say, is… we’re still building a practice.”
I adore how in Marvel Daredevil Foggy narrates his small actions and gestures to better communicate with Matt.
I imagine him continuing to do so out of habit despite knowing Matt as the daredevil.
When Matt comes through Foggys window yet again, bruised and beat up. Foggy of course immediately goes to aid, but he doesn't hide his eye roll. "Im rolling my eyes at you Murdock" when Matt grunts and struggles to get settled on the nearest chair, "Im wincing now Matty." When Foggy returns with a med kit and start to patch his buddy up as best as he can "I'm shaking my head disapprovingly." He says when he finishes.
Matt who has been silent through it all, wills up the power to get up, kisses Foggy on the forehead- "I know Foggy. Thank you." He whispers, gentle and soft as always. Then proceeds to leave as he came.
"I rolled my eyes again" Foggy says, never shouting because of couse Matt freaking Murdock could hear that.
Foggy, Fogwell's and Boxing: My Favorite Detail from the Season One Finale
Having just finished the season one finale of DD, the idea that Foggy knew about Fogwell's and Matt's boxing, but clearly didn't know about Daredevil, is fascinating to me. The fact that Matt DIDN'T know that Foggy was aware of his boxing and Fogwell's (Having assumed it had something to do with Matt's dad) is equally fascinating. Sensory wise there isn't a lot that can get past Matt most days, so Matt had to either have been working through something, or Foggy is a lot sneakier than most assume he is.
IYKYK
I just think he deserved so much better
Growing up in the nineties as a "different" kind of kid certainly wasn't easy. But I'm sure he was stronger than all the vigilant he admired so much.
The kindest purest soul, for sure.

i miss foggy so much
I just wish I knew what Marvel/Disney thinks they're gaining, by treating Foggy the way they have.
Financially...Story-Wise...Foggy being erased from Daredevil is like McDonald's saying "Hey, we're not selling burgers anymore. We're going to offer nothing but tacos now!". Like, what is the benefit of not only taking out one of the pillars of the whole show, but then doubling down, and doing arcs where he is a very important part without him??
(*Siiiigh*) It just makes no sense, man...
I like your analogy.
You know, I wish there was someone brave enough to sit down in front of Dario and everyone else and ask each one about this decision. Because I don't buy this story of "We thought about keeping him in a cage, but it would be too unrealistic, but hey, we're the good guys and we love him, okay?"
The other day, Mr. D'Onofrio, out of the blue, commented on one of my posts that they intend to bring Foggy back in flashbacks because they love Foggy and Elden so much, and I highly doubt both of those connotations.
Even if they keep resorting to wigs and de-aging, that's clearly impossible. I also don't think they're going to make Foggy a ghost in Matt's mind.
I believe Foggy's story is over, unfortunately.
What I've seen is new fans simply accepting that Foggy had to die for… long sigh... a greater good and that it was a beautiful tribute to him, while a large part of the real og Daredevil fans are simply giving up the series, and rightfully so.
With the original, most loyal, and oldest fans ceasing to care, the creators feel free to adapt Foggy's arcs for other characters. It's great; nobody will care if it's someone else who gets Matt's license back or scenes like this one.
Or if another character has cancer, or if another character has an abusive mother who happens to be a lawyer as well.
The big problem I see, and I'm not the only one, so let me make it clear I'm not the paranoid one here, is that in the minds of the fans and the people behind Born Again, Foggy is chubby and useless. He doesn't fit into this new show, he didn't deserve a happy ending.
Look at how he was written in the first episode.
Karen says, "He does not have the game for Kirsten McDuffie."
Why? Usually, friends lift each other up and don't belittle them as if they weren't good enough.
But why wouldn't a man like him have a chance with Kirsten? What was so wrong with that Foggy in Karen's mind?
Foggy doesn't fit into a series where villains have to be hot to be loved, and women have to be badass and skinny.
Foggy was just… Foggy.
He was too human, flawed, he drank, he swore, he bribed, he argued with his friends for their own good, and he protected them. But he was just a chubby guy, and now in the eyes of the new fans, he's just a fembot, a bridge that led Karen to Matt, Matt to Dex, Matt to Fisk… He'll never be able to be just Foggy and tell his own story.
Why did his mother want him to be a butcher? We'll never know what happened to Marci either.
We even have Brett back, but we don't have Foggy, and look, Brett never existed in the comics.
Those who truly love the characters don't readily accept what they're doing to the new Daredevil. That isn't Matt, that isn't Karen.
Karen was good because she was intelligent, smart, and a shrewd investigator, not a fighter and lawyer like she is now. Matt cared, now he's an empty shell staring blankly at Foggy's memory. The real Matt wouldn't forgive Dex.
Fans who truly care will always miss Foggy and will always feel outraged by the way he was humiliated, made a fool of, and discarded. There will still be those who will watch and recognize the gaps where Foggy would fit in, or even the scenes and storyline of his that are being given to other characters.
I love what Elden said, that Foggy existed before him and will always exist*, and who knows, maybe one day Foggy will receive the justice he deserves at the hands of more competent people.

Favourite Civilian: Semi-Finals Match One of Two
Foggy Nelson
Linda Park
If you know anything about me at all, you probably know I love Foggy Nelson (and that should be enough to secure your vote, right? ;D). If you don't know anything about me, or Foggy, let me tell you why he deserves to make it to the top of this tournament.
Foggy was first introduced in Daredevil #1 in 1964 - the very first issue of Daredevil ever penned. He and Matt have been best friends and business partners quite literally since their creation. And loving his best friend is one of Foggy's core aspects, one that's lasted through sixty years of ups and downs, of zany superhero antics and multiple faked deaths, of trips to space and hell itself! These two are so inseparable that most alternate Daredevils in the Marvel multiverse also have a Foggy - truly the mold of "frequently bought together, do not separate". Please have a compilation of many (but certainly not all) of their hugs.
Through all that time, Foggy hasn't ever gotten superpowers or become a vigilante - but he's beloved anyway, by fans and other Marvel characters alike. He doesn't need to be upgraded or made more powerful and important; he's already the most important person in the Marvel universe to his best friend.
Being almost aggressively civilian doesn't mean Foggy's necessarily normal, either, though. We are, after all, talking about a guy who pretended to be a gangster and blew cigar smoke in the face of the Kingpin (godspeed "Guts" Nelson, you are a legend).
He's done some pretty crazy stuff over the years, sometimes in the name of protecting his friends, and sometimes in the name of impressing a girl (mood, we've all been there, buddy). He's got a complex inner life that's constantly given importance on the page, including complicated feelings about his best friend being a superhero, severe mommy issues and self-esteem problems, an arc where he survives cancer, and his fair share of relationship troubles. He can be funny, or snarky, but he's not relegated to being the butt of every joke, which is great to see for a fat character.
In conclusion:
Well, what do you think?
(Vol. 1, #222)
Handsome, as always
It's been years since Foggy was with someone, and I'm curious to know who this is.
He just deserves some peace and quiet, and I love it when he's having a good time, simply enjoying life as he should.
