If Windy were a pokemon trainer she would have a herd of flaaffy/mareep and an ampharos. Maybe some chinchou/lanturn live around the point, too, in the sea caves. Hmm... what else... a jigglypuff and chansey would be on hand at the lighthouse in case of emergency. She'd have to have one pretty strong water type to help her in rescues at sea. I can't decide between lapras, dragonite, dragonair, or what else... maybe a wartortle helper? And a haunter would totally just hang out in the tower at night. What a little ghostly asshole (I love haunters <3) and machamp seems like he'd be good at sailing since he can haul all of the lines and halyards at once.

Oh gosh I want to draw this all now. Soon! This week... I should be back to drawing the ponies this week. But I'm totally also sketching human Windy with her pokemon, this is too awesome.

True story, bro. Let's see if I can pull my shit together before a story meeting with Mark Andrews tomorrow. (yes, that Mark Andrews. He's a rad dude.)

I went up into the highlands this weekend and had some craaaazy ideas. Sketched a bit, wanted to get some character ideas down. There's an awesome backstory I really like that actually can tie into the whole "Mystery at Whinny Point" story from forever ago, but in the timeline of things this would happen way way long ago in the past. They'll probably change, but felt like posting the doodles... he doesn't have a cutie mark yet, but gave him mountain pony markings (basically a colorado ranger horse, roan with blanket and spots)

Will explain them more later... the jist is that a very young little unicorn colt gets lost in a snowstorm and wanders out into the mountains. He is eventually found by the sheep and deer characters, two of the "old gods". He learns awesome stuff but the harsh environment stunts the growth of his horn. As he grows up, then, his magic instead manifests as tiny wing nubbins, making him a sort of 'natural' alicorn. He can't fly or anything, but when he uses magic the outline of a horn/wings appear as they would on normal sized ponies. 

They find something evil, not sure what yet... probably will be archaic and sinister, link to Windigo stuff that happens later on at Whinny Point... derp derp derp...

Thanks for the birthday wishes, dudes! I spent the night in Edinburgh without my computer so didn't have a chance to log in yesterday. I'm officially on break for the next few weeks and have some crazy travel plans coming up, but I'll be around this week at least ;)

Doodles from today's stream! Came up with some fun stuff, especially the prim little yellow lady up there, Sugarbowl! It was a collective effort to come up with a new OC. What a preppy pony! Her cutie mark is a sugar hammer (which is apparently a real thing! the more you know...) and she has a twin named Jawbreaker who I simply MUST draw tomorrow.

As SILLY as the Assassins are for plastering their insignia on everything, I can’t help but be envious of their levels of baller swagger. Lookit his asskicker boots, damn. And come on, greyscale plus crimson is like the best color scheme out there.

Today is my not-so-little brother's 21st birthday. That means for the next 10 days we're only a year apart and he likes to be especially bothersome because of it. Then... it's my birthday on the 16th and I turn 23! Muahaha indeed.

Size and feature comparisons between the northern folk and the average ponyville citizens

Figured I'd better draw it out, it's been in my head the whole time but I guess it's good to have as 'official' reference up here. A lot of this came from the first sketches from the past storyline (mystery of the flanking isles), see the first few posts on the mod blog from way back when.

i'll make another one for colors soon, it's wheel ranges umm... generally its

earth ponies = blues, browns, occasionally green, earthy yet maritime colors

unicorns = purples, pale red at most, hazy colors

pegasi = light blue/grey colors with high-contrast dark or white accents. think sky/storm.
