my ranking of charles’ triumphs in f1 so far (first version)
austria 2022 -> there are many contenders for the top position in this ranking because all of his wins were emotional and magnificent like you said but this one hit me the hardest i think. i've got strong memories of this race weekend: coming out of a series of disappointing weekends, being so upset that he lost out on the opportunity to win because of sainz the day before in the sprint, wanting him to get his revenge for 2019, knowing it would be harder to win the main race because it is longer but also knowing charles can absolutely accomplish it, then watching it live and seeing him be so phenomenal, overtaking max three times on track, being worried when sainz dnfs, then tearing my hear out when hearing about his brake issues and then finally the glorious relief of a hard-earned victory!!! it really was a splendid victory and i hold this one very close to my heart
monza 2019 -> his second victory in red but it felt like the first: this win was the coronation of our principino. he was aggressive and he battled hard against the mercedes and came out on top. so very much deserved and what a glorious celebration. that podium was a magical thing to witness. it could be first but for me there's nothing like the deliverance of austria.
monaco 2024 -> do i even need to elaborate? finally a prophet on home soil: oh what a sweet relief it was! this was such a long-awaited win: he worked so so hard on this track, year after year, he put his blood sweat and tears for this win. the pure emotions of that podium? everyone in tears, from the prince to fred… I wish I could experience it again for the first time. of course, for monaco, quali is always the most exciting moment so that's why this is only in third.
silverstone 26 -> maybe it’s so high in the ranking for now because it just happened but what a victory! charles was impressive: he made one hell of a start and took the lead, created a five-second gap for the first stint, had to manage a challenging second stint with a faster antonelli behind and then had to deal with a late safety car caused by verstappen crashing but he still succeeded! the success was as unexpected as it was emotional because it followed a series of awful races. charles found back his confidence by working hard to figure out how to make the car work for him. he silenced all the naysayers, the fair-weathered fans and non-believers in the most amazing way, on track. Not only was it a sensational win but it was also long-overdue win after the could’ve been of 2021 and the should’ve been of 2022. By bringing Ferrari’s 250th win, charles’ name is once again etched in the ferrari legend
bahrain 2022 -> this win was a revenge for what could have been his first ever race win in his second race with ferrari. the drs chicken game with verstappen made the race incredibly exciting and highlighted charles' skills at w2w. mostly, for me, it represents the start of what could have been an amazing battle for the championship: indeed, this win opened a world of hope and possibility for that season. unfortunately that memory is now tainted with the knowledge that ferrari would ruin it.
monza 2024 -> this second victory in monza was a confirmation that wasn't necessary but which heightened charles' aura. what a beautiful and unexpected win it was as well, starting from p4 and pulling off an amazing one-stop strategy. this win meant taking one step further in the ferrari legend but of course there's nothing like the first!
australia 2022 -> a dominating win with a grand slam. my man absolutely dog-walked the whole grid that weekend and it was phenomenal. he did it with such panache, going for fast laps after fast laps and even managed to make it seem effortless.
austin 2024 -> another P4 to P1 masterclass with an impressive and typical charles start. it was a splendid race and a splendid win. absolutely no notes.
spa 2019 -> what can I say about that awful weekend… a beautiful and emotional first victory with a lot of hard work from charles but it is forever associated with the tragedy that unfolded on saturday.
this ranking was difficult to make because all his wins were magnificent and emotional in some ways, they were all hard-earned. now i can't wait to add more to this list <33
