I'm sure that Yoongi wrote this song in that moment of his life when BTS was getting bigger and bigger and fears started to creeping in. I remember him saying that one night after a big event - probably a concert or a performance at some awards - he found himself crying in the shower, because he didn't know how to handle all of that. It was too overwhelming. This song is a dialogue between him and his shadow. This is about his dreams ("I wanna be a rapstar... I wanna be the king... I wanna go win") colliding with his fears. And I think that in that moment - maybe not now - his shadow defeated him, as you can see at the end the of the MV: Yoongi appears in the crowds of shadow and he says to himself that they are the same person ("I'm you, you are me") and that they're going to fall and clash together. This is so meaningful, but also sad. I'm happy to know that this year he got to love himself and that he's feeling better, as he said in BTS 2020 Season's Greeting. I love him so much.
