STAR WARS: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH (2005) PROMPTS * assorted dialogue from the film, adjust as necessary
it's over, [name]. i have the high ground.
you underestimate my power.
i hate you!
you were my brother! i loved you!
do it.
you've become the very thing you swore to destroy.
don't lecture me.
don't make me kill you.
if you're not with me, then you're my enemy.
i will do what i must.
all who gain power are afraid to lose it.
they think inwards, only about themselves.
they only care about others.
what happened to him?
you're under arrest.
are you threatening me, [name]?
goodbye old friend.
you have done that to yourself.
you will not take her from me.
i saw your ship! what are you doing out here?
i was so worried about you.
love won't save you.
you're a good person. don't do this.
i won't lose you the way i lost my mother.
i'm doing it for you, to protect you.
come away with me. help me raise our child.
leave everything else behind while we still can.
we don't have to run anymore.
you and i can rule the galaxy, make things the way we want them to be.
i don't believe what i'm hearing.
i don't know you anymore.
you're breaking my heart.
you're going down a path i can't follow.
you're with him!
you brought him here to kill me!
this is where the fun begins.
for reasons we can't explain, we are losing her.
she has lost the will to live.
we don't know why.
there are too many of them.
death is a natural part of life.
train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.
can you hear me?
in your anger, you killed her.
treat them well.
i have waited a long time for this moment.
you will not stop me.
i have failed you.
this is the end for you.
i expected someone with your reputation to be a little older.
we have a job to do. try not to upset him.
you're a little shorter than i expected.
i must talk to you.
i've just learned a terrible truth.
how do you know this?
our worst fears have been realized.
what was that all about?
i didn't say anything.
not to worry. we're still flying half a ship.
what have i done?
i will do whatever you ask.
i told you it would come to this!
army or not, you must realize you are doomed.
are you all right? you're trembling.
something wonderful has happened. i'm pregnant.
i need your help. he is in grave danger.
you're going to kill him, aren't you?
he has become a very great threat.
let's get a move on.
we've got a battle to win here.
love won't save you.
i sense a trap.
you owe me one, and not for saving your skin for the tenth time.
this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause.
what did you say?
i sense great fear in you.
the plan has gone as you had promised.
you are a bold one.
i know what's been troubling you.
are you going to kill me?
i can feel your anger.
it's very dangerous, putting them together.
i am going to end this, once and for all.
i'm too weak. don't kill me, please.
that has nothing to do with this.
you are so beautiful.
love has blinded you?
i'm going to end this war.
who could have done this?
there is something i must know.

happy may 4th friends may the force be with you ✨
i really want to be more consistent on this blog, and maybe one day i will be, but i honestly struggle enough to keep up with my drafts on babs, which is where my muse is 90% of the time, that it just feels impossible. please please accept my forever apology for how much i neglect this blog and how bad I’ve become at replying to things here
why wasn't there any manual on coming back to life? though, there wasn't any instructions on being the fastest man alive yet wally at least had barry to guide him. returning from the dead, as oddly common as it was, doesn't come with tips on entering the lives of those who lost him. even if it's only been less than a few months, he expected it to get a little easier. was it too selfish to ask for his old life back? though, wally should be grateful he has any life at all. not everyone comes back.
the silence feels as if it will never end, leaving him replaying the moment prior over & over again. what was supposed to be them attempting to reconnect as resulted in another close call. wally was glad she had moved on, found some form of happiness, but he was also heartbroken that he couldn't have her back already. he didn't want anyone else to have her. fingers tap the countertop with immense speed, anxieties stirring in his stomach as he watches her own journey through her emotions.
❛ don't apologise- ❜ every ounce of him wants to hold her, to try & fix the pain he's caused. doubts linger in his mind. should he even have returned to their lives? was this pain worth it? he shakes them off, swallowing the lump in his throat. ❛ i don't know what to say. i don't know how to make this right, artemis. ❜ a beat, hand inching closer to almost take hers. albeit never does. ❛ why can't you kiss me? i never stopped loving you, do you hear me? i want to have you back. ❜ his declarations were desperate but bold. though, wally west couldn't be so selfish. he loved her too much. ❛ but i know it's not that easy. so just tell me what to do, okay? ❜
oh. eyes blink, lids briefly shielding grey irises from view. how is it he's able to say exactly what she wants to hear, and yet somehow doesn't? why does it make it harder to hear that he wants her? artemis had dreamt of this very moment so many times. wally's hand in hers, tears in their eyes, smiles stretching across their lips. real life isn't like her dream. it comes with so many messy emotions. guilt the chief of them all. it tugs at her heart and eats away at her mind. he had loved her all this time. he had fought to come back to her, and she had given up.
❝ wally - ❞ words seem to fail her. her fingers find his, weaving their digits together in a way that's so familiar. his touch feeling as if air is finally entering her lungs. her whole body seeming to sag as the tension seeps from her pours. ❝ i love you. ❞ words crack. the emotion threating to overspill, stinging at the corner of her eyes. ❝ but you deserve better. ❞
gaze darts away from his. artemis can't bare to look at him when she speaks again. ❝ i should have known you weren't - ❞ a deep breath in. her hand grips his. ❝ i should have trusted my gut, but instead i believed them when they said you were really gone. i betrayed you. ❞ gaze turns back now, begging him to understand. this is all she ever wanted. all she thought was impossible. ❝ i was seeing someone. it wasn't really serious, but he was nice. understanding. the only problem was he wasn't you. ❞

feels a bit weird is one hell of an understatement. victor has hallucinated in this state before , but never like this. at this point , he's already sure of what's real , SIMPLY BECAUSE HE CAN FEEL IT. the cold metal of the railings , contrasted by the warm contact of someone ( potentially an alien ) moving him to a chair. he felt the stomach-drop of the ship stopping , the shift in what he assumes is gravity. now he feels the padding on the chair , and staring at the strange lights on the console puts real light-spots in his eyes. definitely fucking real. he's gonna have to get real high to process this one , if he ever gets home again. he blinks , resisting the urge to press a glowing button. ❛ she ? now you sound like a fuckin' mechanic , not an alien star queen or whatever the hell you are. ❜
with a quiet groan , he rests his forehead on the console away from any buttons , taking in the cold press against his forehead head. if she's losing her mind , what does that make him ? if only this spaceship did shots , or at least had a blunt-rolling station. ❛ right , what are we supposed to do ? actually , what are you gonna do ? you managed to make it stop , now take me back to where it took me from. ———why the hell did it take us , anyways ? it came out of nowhere. ❜ the racing heart is making him sick and dizzy. nothing makes sense and he's high and he doesn't even know what questions to ask anymore. this is somehow sobering and making everything worse. he rolls his head to peek up at her. ❛ i don't carry narcan , by the way , so if shit hits the fan i hope you're a pretty good nurse. or not. i don't actually care. ❜
❝ i'm a nurse. ❞ she supplies, somewhat darkly. ❝ though alien star queen sounds much cooler. ❞ and would probably be way more helpful. at least then she might know how to fly a bloody spaceship. deep breath in, deep breath out. there's got to be a way out of this, belinda just has to figure it out. gaze runs over the tardis console. none of it makes sense. it's just a mishmash of buttons and levers and screens. none of them labelled, naturally. none giving any hint of what they might do if pressed or pulled. they could take them home, but they could also blow them up. back slumps. if they can't get back then there's as good as dead anyway. there's only so many supplies onboard, not to mention the oxygen. she's not sure how the tardis system works, but she has to assume it's not infinite.
❝ right. ❞ she steels herself, turning back to victor. ❝ i'm going to be honest, i don't have a bloody clue. today has been . . well, it's been weird. ❞ belinda never thought she'd find herself wishing she was back to being stranded in new york. at least then there was no chance of starving or suffocating to death. ❝ i never asked questions. i just wanted to go home. ❞ and, christ, does she wish for that more than ever now. her life might not have been perfect, she might not have always enjoyed it, but it was safe. ❝ good to know. don't suppose you feel like you can move now? ❞ after all - ❝ there's got to be a manual around here somewhere. we just need to find it. ❞ and with that she ducks under the console, feeling for drawers or cupboards. ❝ you take the other side. ❞
there are three mirrors, past, present, future. past girlhood laughter paints her memories in a yellow-sun filled hue, the future born in black, all joy ceased. then comes presence, one which drowns the dowager queen as she looks upon a daughter. [ another daughter. another sacrifice. how many more girls are to die for war? ] alicent does not answer at once. she has learned, over years spent beneath crowns and councils, that silence can be kinder than certainty, and far more dangerous. the girl’s words linger between them like smoke, curling into the hollows of her ribs, touching places alicent has tried very hard not to remember. fear may be foreign to baela, but it is not to her. fear has been her closest companion since girlhood, dressed up as piety, obedience, duty. she studies baela now not as a piece on the board, not as the blood of her enemies, but as something achingly familiar: a child shaped by loss, sharpened too early, taught to swallow grief until it calcifies into pride. ❝ you think i do not know what bait feels like, ❞ alicent says at last, her voice low, steady, threaded with something that does not belong to a schemer. her hand tightens around the rosary at her wrist, not in prayer, but in grounding. ❝ you think i have not spent my life being dangled between men who promised protection and delivered ruin. ❞ she steps closer, careful, as though approaching a skittish animal rather than a dragon’s daughter. ❝ they have used my faith, my body, my children. they taught me very young that love is a currency and fear its shadow. ❞ alicent’s voice softens then, dangerous in its sincerity. ❝ you are not more useful to me dead, ❞ she says. ❝ dead girls become banners. songs. excuses for more blood. alive, you are… a line that has not yet been crossed. ❞ her eyes hold baela’s, unwavering. ❝ if they come for you, it will not be because i baited them. it will be because they could not bear to leave you behind. ❞ a breath, almost a whisper. ❝ and if they do not come — ❞ she stops herself, jaw tightening, the ache of that possibility cutting too close to truths she lives with daily. ❝ then i will still see you fed. still see you safe. because there are already too many ghosts in this war. ❞
this is a game she has little practice playing. baela is a warrior. she rides upon her dragon reigning down fire from above. she does not move chess pieces or speak in riddles. jace was always better at that. he had the tongue to charm. baela had always been much rougher around the edges. she tries not to let the fear seep in. she has a dragon, but that's all she has to offer. they would mourn her, but they would move on. rhaenyra would take her place on the throne and jace would marry another. baela would be just another name in the targaryen crypt. shining eyes look up to alicent and, for the first time, she feels like the young girl they all believe her to be. scared and alone and cold. now she sees the woman truly before her. she had thought of alicent as a power hungry shrew. a woman with little love in her heart. perhaps she had been wrong. perhaps she was just as baela is, a woman forged by the expectations of others. ❝ you have been wronged. ❞ her words are a statement. you must remain strong, she hears her mother's voice in her ear. ❝ and so you repay them by doing wrong to others. by denying rhaenyra's birthright. ❞ yet there's a quiver to her voice. she will break. that feels inevitable now. body seems to slump, heavy under the weight of what she knows to be true. they will not come for her. ❝ so i suppose i am just to wait here until one of you kills the other. ❞ a pawn in the dance of dragons. ❝ i ask only that you keep moondancer safe. do not let another ride her, she will not like it. ❞
beyond the grassy hill, arra's eyes find the lurmen village. large seed pods (scraped clean, their interiors bare) make up a small landscape of homes in a protective circle, and small people with long, furry tails and big eyes roam the spaces between as night falls. soon, the village will be silent, motionless, leaving arra and @folkpoet to sit on the hill and absorb the peace and quiet. soon, more shooting stars will spiral overhead in the atmosphere above them. it makes for a romantic, perfect evening.
"and i am lucky, as well." arra beams when corde kisses her hand. she takes their tangled fingers and presses them to the center of her chest, clutching, keeping corde as close as possible. "oh, we would not be alive if we tried staying on coruscant. i'm sure the empire has figured out ways to track force-sensitive beings. any sith lingering on the planet would have detected us. killed us." she turns her head away from the village and hides her face in her lover's shoulder. "part of me breaks knowing we will never return, and all that we knew of the order is gone, but... what a relief we left when we did." her turn to tilt up, kissing corde's face. "as long as we stay here and keep to ourselves, we should be safe. the empire doesn't travel this far out. we will live a peaceful life now, corde tane. just as we have always deserved."
corde thinks she could stay here forever, but perhaps that has more to do with the company than the scenery. the stars above, a sight she might have wondered at some years ago, almost forgotten. she cannot seem to take her eyes away from arra. her love. the very best thing in her life. oh, how often she has to force her mind away from thinking the worst. replaying the moments she could have lost her. the ones where she almost did. all thoughts that haunt her sleeping hours. she does not like to think of a life without arra's hand in her own.
head nods, knowing arra is right. many of their friend's lights have already dimmed. the force seeming almost heavier with all the loss. so many souls gone, now one with the force itself. corde's fingers play with arra's, hair falling past one ear to shield her blush. ❝ once i had wondered if we might have been able to change their minds. ❞ the smile on her lips has a tint of embarrassment. this is a thought she had never spoken out loud. ❝ perhaps we could have shown the council that there was space for love within the force. that it made us better jedi. maybe then there never would have been a war. ❞ she dares to peek at the face of her love. ❝ isn't that foolish? ❞
@praesparo asks; "You almost kissed me just now."
the silence is painful. it engulfs her very being, wrapping her in worry and regret. artemis had almost kissed wally. she had wanted to so badly, because he was like a magnet drawing her ever closer. teasing her with smiles, with twinkling eyes that reminded her of the boy she once knew. normally she would catch herself. she had gotten good at burying the thoughts, the impulses, down. it was a constant battle. heart and mind always at war with one another. this time her heart had almost won.
❝ sorry. ❞ she hates the way her voice cracks. hates how pathetic it sounds. hates how anger starts to seep in through her cracks. he doesn't understand how hard she had worked to pull herself back together. artemis had rebuilt her life. she opened herself back up to love and laughter and light. she had moved on, and all that time he had been alive. just out of her reach.
she hates how guilty she feels.
❝ i - ❞ she takes a deep breath in. her hands are starting to shake, she realises. ❝ it's torture to be around you, wally. ❞ gazes meet then. grey boring into blue, looking for any kind of answer. ❝ because i want to kiss you, and i know i shouldn't. ❞ because he came back from the dead. because she had a boyfriend when he did. it doesn't matter that she broke up with him the same day she got the news. ❝ nothing about this is right. ❞ it's not fair.

"Was that your hand, or did I imagine it?"
"You didn’t pull away."
"That wasn’t just a glance."
"You felt that too, didn’t you?"
"Your breath just hitched."
“Are you alright?”
“You look out of breath”
“You were looking for me?”
"I noticed the way you said my name."
"That’s the first time you’ve touched me like that."
"Don’t pretend you didn’t lean in."
"You’re closer than you were a minute ago."
"Say it’s not just me feeling this."
"Your fingers just brushed mine."
"We’ve never stood this close before."
“This is new territory.”
"I felt your hand pause there."
"Your voice changes when you're near me."
"That smile… it wasn’t friendly."
“Are we pretending that didn’t just happen?”
"That wasn’t part of the plan, was it?"
"I’m not imagining this anymore, am I?"
"You touched my arm and stayed there."
"When did the way you say my name start sounding like that?"
"Your lips are a lot closer than they should be."
"You didn’t have to whisper it like that."
"That was the first time you hesitated."
"You’re not hiding it very well."
"You looked at me like you wanted to say something else."
"We crossed a line just now, didn’t we?"
"You leaned into the silence."
"I caught the way you looked at my mouth."
"You blinked like I surprised you."
"You didn't let go."
"That wasn’t how friends touch."
“You moved closer, not away.”
"We’re not just standing here, are we?"
"You tilted your head like you wanted more."
"Something just changed, didn’t it?"
"That was the first time you didn’t avoid my eyes."
"You’re looking at me like I’m already yours."
"Your hand brushed mine, and everything stopped."
“I felt your hesitation…”
"You’re not pretending anymore."
"That silence said more than anything else could."
"That look, what does it mean?"
"You almost kissed me just now."
"Tell me that wasn’t nothing."
"You were going to say something, weren’t you?"
"Something’s different this time."
