Noah wasn’t entirely used to anyone joining him here, at the shore, where he had spent many hours on his own. Never was it a time of loneliness, though - it was easier to focus here, near his home, his essence.

It would always be somewhat odd, spending his time in a human body. So whenever people got too loud for his own liking? The beach was a good place to get the best of both worlds. Toes digging into the sand that prickled beneath his feet, wind howling, seagulls screaming, and the waves a distinct noise nearby.

For once it wasn’t the water he was focused on, though, but a book in his lap - Treasure Island. For anyone who knew of his true essence, it surely looked odd. The sea reading up on pirates, diving into fictional stories about …. well, himself, in a way? He could see why John considered it ‘fascinating’.

                       walking the shore ,  sand between toes ,  salt in the breeze ;  it quickly became a  calming mechanism ,  a place to retreat ,  a   comfort   to fall in love with the first time john luke saw the ocean.   when his family vacationed ,  or when he skipped class on fridays to get an early start at the beach on weekends.   truth be told ,  john luke was comfortable in any body of water ,  growing up sneaking to quarries and summers on a wakeboard ,  but the ocean always held a  higher  place in his heart.   so vast it could swallow you without even making a wave.                       fortunately free of a crisis ,  he simply hadn’t seen or heard the waves crash in too long ,  so with quite a bit of down time ,  he made his was way here.   and he’s quiet as he wanders ,  though his interest is piqued by the man and his book.   a sense of  déjà vu  seemed to tug at him like a child begging for attention.   something   is familiar ,  though he can’t figure out what ,  so for now he’ll engage ,  offering an amused smile.      ❛  well ,  i know the  movie.  ❜
