Originally, Noctis had said that because the way that Prompto was talking to him made it so Noctis couldn’t get a word in edge-wise -- it had nothing to do with his being a prince, and it had everything to do with the fact that friends don’t talk to each other like that.
So when Prompto brought up his princelihood... Well, Noctis couldn’t help but bristle. He’d been willing to calm Prompto down and maybe work this out more, but that? That was crossing the line.
