FUCK AI COMMENCEMENT SPEAKERS.

The amount of AI related commencement speakers I’ve been seeing is insane.

Why would they think that’s a good thing to put in a speech toward a bunch of graduates who are about to enter the workforce? genuinely the one at my graduation legit said “AI will probably take your jobs” WHYYY would you say that to us. And went on to name the jobs it would take. Also suggested we need to add religion into AI which NOTABLY A BAD IDEA THAT HAS CAUSED DEATHS. Said literally “chat has all the answers” girl go fuck yourself! It’s killing us!

Anyway idc if I was the only one booing that Bozo, she deserved it. Stop hiring AI commencement speakers.

Tumblr doesn't like to do this kind of ethics, so I have to phrase this carefully, but it's a question of character. And a person's character is clearest when they're being asked to do the right thing even when it doesn't matter to them.

I don't want to live in a world in which doctors and lawyers and politicians just ignore the responsibility to research and verify when it's inconvenient for them. When they're busy. When they have something they'd rather be doing. The world I live in is already too full of those people in positions of power. I'll be damned if I let there be more of them.
