I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've never slept away from home before- not even on a school trip or something like that. Something, something has always managed to get in the way. I've slept on my own in this house before- I mean, it's a fold out armchair and I close the door and I sleep.

Now, this bed, it's a FULL BED, it's like it's own room. I've basically got MY OWN ROOM. I never realised how much I've wanted this but the ability to BREATHE without someone staring at me feels so crazy. I can just BE however I want and it doesn't matter

there is something very sad and humiliating about having to desperately beg doctors and family members to understand that involuntary institutionalization does not in fact help your mental health, knowing your perspective will always be dismissed at the end of the day

it's such an awful existence to be a psychiatric patient as a teenager, there has to be another way to help aggressively suicidal teenagers, such as addressing the circumstances that make them want to die so much in the first place! you can stop suicide by locking someone up, sure, but they will not want to live

The threat of being sent to the ER itself was enough to make me shut up.

You feel suicidal? Okay, we'll call your parents and you'll go the ER.

I'd tell them it was my parents making me miserable but they wouldn't hear that bit: unless they were physically abusing me, it didn't matter. It's not like I needed to be separated from them, I think, but it was the support I needed that I couldn't access unless something overly terrible (worse than being suicidal, apparently) happened to me.

When my parents were told the first time, they made it hell. Didn't make that mistake again. Still alive tho, and my birthday's in a week, so x

finished + story!

finally finished it!! this is my first time animating in photopea.... let me tell you, i spent at least 60% of my time just figuring that out TTT and then, I realized, that the heart was hidden underneath the yellow pop up layer. however, if i moved the yellow pop-up layer underneath the animations folder, it would be hidden by the main image (the girl with the axe in the centre). So i had to use a clipping mask to draw out each bit i wanted to 'erase' from the yellow popup folder/layer for each frame of the heart's animation, before turning it all into another animation, and merging it with the main animations. Which is TEDIOUS.

anyway, this is an animated mood board I made inspired by an oc I've made!

im now realizing i forgot to put her name in there.....

Love the varying stages of animation on here! The cute little heart, the blinking (that I didn't notice originally and scared me), the mouth thing at the top (still scares me), it all catches your eye over and over!

I like the way you've layered the stuff because it feels proportional and logical and covers the backdrop neatly, but each element has its own space and can be focused on its own.

Does that make sense? I don't know I think it's just well cool

Love all the yellows, the tinges of blue- specifically, how you've managed to make each image stand out in its own special way with their respective contrasts and coordinations!! Really well done job here!!

Another family post 👀

Again, just more whining lol

I try to avoid my mother around the home because she has a great tendency to drag you into what she's doing irregardless of the mood you're in and what you're doing yourself. E.g you're cleaning and then you have to scroll for an hour searching on eBay for LED fans....the least of her crimes but a personal nitpick as of late.

Today's obvs been difficult because of this flipping back and forth of my food/ her wanting to go on a holiday (she insists Poland but that's not the money we want to spend, as a family- she doesn't care for a Poland holiday either but it just fits the budget- she snapped at me saying her ideal holiday was just going back to Pakistan even though a week earlier she told me how stressful it was) /trying to build a new bed and so like. Idk it's been long, esp with the heat, and today me and my (younger) sister are sleeping in the living room because of the heat.

My sister is trying to apply for medicine. She has her UCAT in September. It's been an ongoing battle between them of studying, tutoring, listening to each other, etc. My sister is one of those people who can get the highest grades in the year with minimal effort. My mother, a doctor herself and with a son who's been through all this before, is pleading/ arguing with her to take her UCAT more seriously. My sister hates it: I describe her as apathetic/ nonchalant and it's her biggest strength + weakness.

I've always sided with my little sister in these things knowing how my mum is like. Maybe I'm too lenient and I do need to be tougher on her for her to get into Medicine, but we're so close enough in age that she won't take me very seriously on such a matter, and only repeating it to her will upset her more. As so far, I've let them have their arguments, and then comfort my sister and chastise my mother for her usually crude approach. Thus, hearing, in the bathroom, yes I'm on the toilet,

"[Name], have you done your study today?"- Brother

"No,"- Sister

"Mama's calling you,"

Fills me with so much dread
