Knox-4 made his way through the complex, trying to find a way out with his Ghost. The two had managed to find a map of Bray Exoscience, and were slowly working their way towards the entrance while doing their best to avoid House Salvation. Knox was low on ammo and his ancient armor was in shambles. So far, he hadn’t located anything in better shape; light only knew how ancient this place was.
Stopping suddenly, he got the sensation that he was being watched. His Ghost blipped into existence beside him and her tone was worried. “Knox? What’s wrong?”
“…don’t think we’re alone here, little light.”
The Exo whipped around and trained his shotgun on the shadowy corner; nothing. Yet he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was someone with him.
for-the-pierogies:
Knox watched as he reached for him. “What are you—“
BAM! It was like a eureka moment, information flooding his mind as if he just recalled something. It took a moment for his systems to process the shock as his Ghost looked at him. “Knox??” she asked in a worried tone.
“It’s…it’s alright, I think. I…I know how to get out of this place now,” he replied, looking up at Malphas. “…thank you. What uh…what is it that I can do for you?”
Knox really couldn’t imagine how he could repay this person. His armor was in shreds, and he had neither money nor fame.
“Take this,” he said holding out a stone sigil in his hand. It looked to be made of the same dark stone as the armor he wore. It had his name written in evenly spaced letters circled around the artifact. “And when you are settled in and have a moment- call out to me somewhere private preferably. I would like to visit you again and see that you are adjusting well.”
He gave Knox a wide grin then pressed the surprisingly heavy object into the man’s hand before he stood back up to his full height. “And best to keep this meeting of ours a secret from the other Guardians. No need to draw any extra attention to this area after all- a bit dangerous for others to be exploring wouldn’t you say?”
Knox accepted the stone, examining it. He hummed in thought. “…alright. You got a deal.”
Knox tucked the stone securely in a pocket without holes; he had managed to find some satchels and strap-bags around the complex.
“Thanks. I’ll be sure to call you once I get settled in to wherever I’m supposed to be headed.”
“We can probably hitch a ride from another Guardian, or even find an old ship somewhere. Maybe even swipe a ship from the Fallen; I’d be able to make it work, though we’d have to park a ways away from the city so we don’t get shot down on sight,” his Ghost replied.

Knox was hesitant, before finally relaxing his shoulders. “…Been lookin’ for a way out of this place. Running low on ammo, and the Fallen—four armed aliens from some kind of ‘House Salvation’—have been giving us a hassle.”
The Exo glanced at his Ghost, who still seemed wary. “Trying to get to a place called the Last City…s’where Guardians are supposed to go, apparently.”
“That’s right,” the Ghost spoke up, “Guardians are called to defend the Last City; the last safe place for humanity after the Collapse. It’s a Guardian’s job to protect humanity from their various enemies.”
Knox felt uneasy, but he really didn’t have many options. “If you could point me in the direction of the exit…I’d be grateful. Dunno how I can repay you, seeing as how I don’t really have much.”
“I see. All this commotion over one little thing like you. I suppose I could guide you. Of course I would hate to bring you back into this world in debt- or even more so as it were given this whole Guardian business. I would merely ask for you to remember this favor as an act of good will. Call it a basis of friendship if you would like. I should like to meet with you again once you have found your footing.”
He reached a long clawed finger out towards the exo- the digit beginning to glow before he touched the tip of his claw to Knox’ forehead. Detailed knowledge of the facility began to form in the man’s mind- new information that seemed as if it was always known but just now remembered.
“Before you leave there is something you can do for me now that I think of it.”
Knox watched as he reached for him. “What are you—“

Knox whipped around, narrowing his optics at the stranger. He glanced at his Ghost for direction, who was tucked behind the Exo’s head. She seemed wary.
“They’re not like any alien I’ve seen before, Knox…be careful…” she whispered.
Knox stared for a moment, not relaxing in the slightest. “Name’s Knox-4. …and I wouldn’t be able to tell you. Little light here got me up a few hours ago; fresh out of the grave. Trying to find a way out of this place.”
He wasn’t sure how much he should share; if the Ghost hadn’t seen this person before, he would be wary.
Malphas stared back at Knox. “It isn’t often one of the tenets of this place actually leaves. Much less so when I was not the one to cause it. I do so dislike these happenings of late. However I suppose I should be thankful that the unconsecrated souls of the universe are being given another chance. Even if they are taking quite a peculiar form.”
The demon lord lowered himself down onto his knees. Not as an act of submission- but as one to allow them to see almost eye to eye. Even this low he still had to crane his neck downwards to speak to the exo.
“Very well then. Allow me to be the first to say welcome back. My name is Malphas. Might I assist you in some way, Knox-4?”
Knox was hesitant, before finally relaxing his shoulders. “…Been lookin’ for a way out of this place. Running low on ammo, and the Fallen—four armed aliens from some kind of ‘House Salvation’—have been giving us a hassle.”

“Alone? Certainly not,” a voice came from seemingly nowhere. “You rarely are when you visit a place as old as this- not that you tend to notice.” The voice seemed to move from up above and across the room, resonating less now and sounding much more localized. Almost as if what was speaking was catching up with the voice itself.
“Unlike the others around here you do not seem quite so interested in moving in. I wonder just what it is you’re doing here? Relic hunting, maybe?”
Suddenly when the voice spoke again it was coming from just behind the exo. Were he to turn around he would find the source- a giant of a pale horned man covered sparsely in black stone armor.
“And just what might I call you?”
Knox whipped around, narrowing his optics at the stranger. He glanced at his Ghost for direction, who was tucked behind the Exo’s head. She seemed wary.

The Fallen, Knox decided, were an annoyance.
Diving behind cover, he fired off a few shots from his ancient shotgun as he was pursued by House Salvation. This was bad. He would run out of ammo soon and he didn’t have the energy to pull off what he did before; charging at them surrounded by arc energy.
Yet he felt no more than irritation, no real fear to speak of. Grunting, he took aim, only for a shot from a wire rifle to strike him in the shoulder the moment he ducked out of cover.
“Knox!” his Ghost cried, hidden safely away to prevent any of the shots from striking her.
The Exo grumbled. “Gettin’ real tired of these guys…”

Like this post for a starter!
It’s most likely going to take place in Bray Exoscience or on Europa in general, also please specify a muse if you have more than one!

You know what would be funny?
If Knox were to run into a Guardian in Bray Exoscience that literally just found his body like an hour ago getting the recordings.
HIM BIG
HIM REAL BIG
A firefight rang out in the halls of Bray Exoscience.
Knox-4 pumped his shotgun. He was running low on ammo, and House Salvation was relentless.
Firing off several rounds, he grunted when his last shell was spent. Looking up, he saw a Fallen approach; bigger and meaner-looking than the rest.
“That’s a Captain!” his Ghost spoke up through their bond, “they’re no joke! Try using your Light!”
“Light, huh?” Knox replied. That was something he had learned; he had powers, apparently. Briefly wondering if he had them in his first life, he looked at the Captain.
“Alright. You wanna dance? Let’s dance.”
Standing up from his cover, he focused his energy and felt Arc energy spark to life. He began charging towards the Captain, turning into a living bulldozer; built like a tank with the height to match.
Knox-4, made here.
Hmmmm.
Muse is really feeling some Disturbed music.
“We need to get you some armor that isn’t falling apart at the seams.”
Knox looked up at the Ghost—his Ghost—and then back down at himself. The clothing he had—if it could even be called that—was ancient, hanging off of him in shreds and rusted plates. It had already caused a couple deaths.
“Dunno where. Whole place has been ransacked, looks like,” Knox replied, stretching. The two were in a safe room, of sorts, having made their way through the facility.
The Ghost twirled, thinking. Finally, she spoke up. “There’s got to be a working terminal with a map of the facility. If we can find one, I can find out where locker rooms and storage rooms are. Maybe we can find something there.”
Spock’s got moves; deal with it.

LIVE LONG AND GET SOME JFC
It was like being shocked awake.
The Exo man sat upright, gasping as he looked frantically around. Where was he? Who was he? Why was he here? What—
“It…it worked! You’re alive!”
A small floating machine caught his attention, looking at him and seeming to be happy. “I’ve been looking for you for so long!”
“What…” the Exo grumbled out, “who are you? Who am I?”
“That’s complicated, and I’ll be happy to explain everything, but it’s not safe here. There are too many Fallen from House Salvation lurking about. We need to find you a weapon.
The Exo didn’t fully understand what what going on…but he understood danger. With little choice but to trust the small machine, he slowly got to his feet.
Wherever he was, it was cold. It looked like some kind of facility? Maybe? Moving down the corridor, the Exo spotted a shotgun. It looked old, but still serviceable.
“Looks good!” the tiny machine chirped, “okay. I need to get you to the Last City. To do that, we need a ship. Or a lift from another Guardian.”
“Guardian?”
“That’s what you are; a Guardian, chosen by the Traveler.”
This was a lot to take in…
“Knox-4.”
“What?”
“That’s what’s in your coding. Your name. Knox-4.”
The Exo, newly dubbed Knox-4 hummed in thought. “Alright. So I have a name. Anything else you can tell me? Like what you are, exactly?”
A chirp. “I’m a Ghost. More importantly, I’m your Ghost. Your new partner. And you’ve been dead a long time.”
A grunt from Knox. “Alright. So I’m back from the dead. Where are we, exactly?”
“On a moon of Jupiter’s called Europa, in a place known as Bray Exoscience. It’s a Golden Age facility dedicated to the research and production of Exos; which is what you are.”
Exo. Bray. Europa. None of these things were ringing a bell for Knox. But he supposed it would all make sense in due time.
