i’m xiao zhan. standing here today, holding this honor in my hands, i feel truly honored. thank you to the asian art film festival, and to every judge and teacher for recognizing gezhi town. mo dexian is a small man in troubled times. in years of broken mountains and rivers, he worked hard to protect his family and everyone around him. i believe mo dexian carries the simple warmth and resilience that belongs to each of us chinese people.
thank you to our screenwriter, teacher lan xiaolong, for creating such a wonderful story. i would also like to thank director kong sheng for their patient guidance. your precise direction allowed me to better understand the core of this character.
thank you as well to all the actors and every member of the production team behind the scenes. it was a collective effort that brought more color to this film.
