"So what’ve you been doing since you left?"

          “m-mother!”

    it was so incredible to hear her voice, he didn’t know how or why or what was causing this miraculous even to happen right now but that didn’t matter so much. he needed to savor this moment, though he had so many questions to ask her so many things he wanted to say —he needed to answer the question she had asked him, so he could have the opportunity to have a normal conversation with his mom. 

  gathering his thoughts, it took him a second “w-well, I guess a lot has happened. it’s sorta hard to explain, but I made some new friends…” he paused for a moment. 

  wrapping his arms around the other tight, he had no intentions of letting her go quite yet. he just needed a hug from her, just for a moment. there were no words between them, not a sound. just a line to break the silence “it’s so good to hear your voice.”

Rei looked over slightly confused. She had been doing silly tricks with a yo-yo she had bought at a toy store only a few weeks earlier. /☾/ "I didn’t either until a few days ago." She said looking down at the red yo-yo-.

The blue haired girl handed him the yo-yo. /☾/ "Do you want to try?" She said with a neutral expression.

     eyes widened for a second as a pink color flushed his cheeks, admirable how rei could pick something up like that so fast --and such a whimsical hobby too. shinji's glare returned back to normal as he took the toy, "sure! but I doubt i'll be any good." 

    the boy laughed nervously while attempting to mimic her but completely failing. he scratched the back of his head from nerves, "yeah --hah, see told you I wouldn't be very good at this."

          Rei was quite surprised, actually, at the absence of cicada chirping. It seemed to be a constant everywhere she went and every single day she would wake to find the damned bugs already buzzing away without a care in the world. She enjoyed the presence of other creatures on this planet, but it did get rather annoying sometimes having that be the background music to this world.

          She spotted Ikari-kun shortly after stepping out of the apartment she had been assigned and began to walk faster to catch up with him. She was still a bit rusty on what to do and what not to do when greeting a person, so she didn’t call out until she was walking next to him——and he turned to her, beating her to it, with that smile she enjoyed seeing on his face.

          “…it’s alright, Ikari-kun. I should have warned you of my presence. As for what has been happening to me recently——nothing of note. I regret to say that my life has been somewhat uneventful lately. Is there anything I should know about that has been happening with you?”

        The girl spoke formally, as usual. He felt like he should remind her that she shouldn't feel the need to be so uptight around him, but it would have no effect. That just seemed to be who Rei was, and the boy accepted that with a casual smile. Letting a slight breeze of wind brush through short hair, he turned his glance toward the other "No, nothing... really!" and that was okay for him, to have nothing happening.

       Shinji's tone were abnormally chipper due to the obvious absence of terror. The boy wanted so desperately to live in a world like this everyday, but he knew that was a silly dream. He was a pilot now, the thought quickly brought a different expression on the brunette's face, but quickly pushed it back --lets not waste this pretty day thinking about it. There was a pause to let the birds talk, but soon after he continued "Do you like day's like this? You know... --when there's nothing special to do?"

   Wind brushing against the grass created a whistling noise, a gentle breeze followed, hitting the pilots chest. The cicada’s were quiet today, muffled binging sounds came from the translation down the hill  —from here everything felt simple, for once. It was day’s like these that Shinji cherished the most. 

   Lost in the sounds of the world, he neglected to hear footsteps until the unknown presence was next to him. Being shocked by the sudden appearance, he jolted his head toward the unfamiliar noise and blinked with wide eyes. His shocked expression then faded, turning into a faint smile.

   ”Oh, hey didn’t see you there…!” 

                                          "--what's up?"

PSA to all RP Accounts

We’re all approaching that time of year again. Finals.

Which means, all month long, many accounts will be going on hiatus for studying and actually taking the test. They could be gone for a couple weeks, however long they need to take to prepare. Finals are very, very important, so it becomes priority over rp.

So I ask of all of you for some patience this month. A lot of people are going to disappear for a bit, but they kinda have to. Please be patient with replies, which will turn up eventually. Try not to spam people with reminders, as this is a stressful this month.

Just a little heads up to what’s going to be happening all month long! So good luck with finals and happy rping! ^-^
