Cozy nights in are Bob's favorite kinds of nights. There's no pressure, there's no sense of urgency, there's no expectations. The world is calm so he is calm.
And now that he has you, they're not lonely.
The two of you have you're go-to activities. You're typically cuddled on the couch reading or watching a movie - lately you've both been working your way through your favorite sci-fi movies, of which Bob has an extensive collection due to it being his favorite genre.
He loves when you lay between his legs with your back against his chest while he's occupying the sofa chaise. He can smell the scent of your shampoo and conditioner and it always makes him smile - it's so you. The warmth and weight of you against him is comforting and way better than any weighted blanket he had ever tried in an attempt at calming his anxiety.
When you laugh it lights up his world. His eyes brighten and love shines in them as a soft lopsided smile pulls at the corner of his mouth.
"What?" you ask when you see that look on his face.
"Nothing," he says even though what he really means is 'everything' because that's what you mean to him. And that's if he even does respond with words. Most of the time his focus simply drops to your lips and he cups your face gently as he moves in to kiss you. He'll pull away just long enough for his tongue to dart out to wet his lips more, tasting you on them, then he will move right back in for more. He always kisses you so gently at first. Even during moments of lust he always starts so tenderly, as if he's afraid he'll break you if he doesn't start slowly, and like he's trying to savor you. The truth is that it's both of those reasons.
If you're having a bad night he's even more insistant on having a slow, cozy night with you and he's absolutely zeroed in on making you feel better. He will tell you how beautiful you are if you're being overly critical of your appearance. He'll tell you how strong you are if you're feeling like you're struggling to manage the weight of the day, or days, you'd had. He'll tell you how incredible and amazing you are if you're feeling like you're not doing a good job lately. And his praise, compliments, and support is never empty words or lies. He means every word he says to you even when you struggle to believe the good and kind things he tells you.
Nights in with you are definitely his favorite. Your company chases away the darkness of the night and keeps the dark thoughts in his mind at bay and he, in turn, does the same for you.
