[ANALYSIS] WHY?!! THE PERSONA! THE SHADOW! THE EGO!
BTS CONFRONTING THEIR PERSONA
Someone’s persona is the aspect of their character or nature that they present to other people, perhaps in contrast to their real character or nature. BTS’ persona is big and powerful as they are celebrities showcasing a certain image on a daily.
Those who identify too strongly with their personas, however, can run into problems—think of the celebrity who becomes too involved with his or herself as the “star”, the person who cannot leave work at work, or the academic who seems condescending to everyone. Doing the aforementioned can stunt someone’s personal growth a great deal, as other aspects of the self then cannot properly develop, crippling overall growth. BTS suffered from the downsides of a huge persona that took over but they were able to win against their inner friction.
In the MV (Music video) the persona is huge which means that it became too big to control in BTS’ lives but they still tried to tame it.
BTS CONFRONTING THEIR SHADOW
The shadow is everything that we have denied in ourselves and cast into oblivion or rather everything that the ego has refused to associate with itself, but that we can notice in other people — such things might include our sexuality, spontaneity, aggression, instincts, cowardice, carelessness, passion, enthusiasm, love of material possessions. It embraces all those sins, dark thoughts, and moods for which we felt guilt and shame.
If we observe our resentment towards ourselves and others, and if we consider the moral aspects of our behavior, then we have the opportunity to bring the shadow into consciousness and achieve a renewed sense of strength and independence. And BTS did that.
In the MV Suga is observing his shadow and bring it out into consciousness to achieve liberation and independence.
BTS CONFRONTING THEIR EGO
To Jung, the ego was the center of the field of consciousness, the part of the psyche where our conscious awareness resides, our sense of identity and existence. This part can be seen as a kind of “command HQ”, organizing our thoughts, feelings, senses, and intuition, and regulating access to memory. It is the part that links the inner and outer worlds together, forming how we relate to that which is external to us.
In the MV Jhope faces his ego that showed up to look confident, neet and rich. It looks just like him and is not bigger not standing lower than him, they are on the same level and that’s the ego.
WHY DID BTS EXPLORE ALL THESE ASPECTS?
It’s to achieve a balanced and healthy self. The Self, according to Jung, was the sum total of the psyche, with all its potential included. This is the part of the psyche that looks forward, that contains the drive toward fulfillment and wholeness. In this, the Self was said to drive the process of individuation, the quest of the individual to reach his or her fullest potential. And this is what BTS are trying to do. Go forward and not let any aspects of their being hold them back. Become better humans and artists as they move forward. And inspire many to follow their steps.

“wrong timing” assignment turns into a bunch of fish walking funny
There is no such thing as wrong timing when its time for walking fish.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING
this could be a very weird demonstration of other ways fish could have evolved legs and began walking
so i was thinking, what if in Mile’s universe, MJ was actually just Zendaya
this is so fucking funny
