I’m on here now because Twitter has gotten too much honestly. People are completely diverting what happened qjust to come under posts about voting Trump out that people are making expressing frustration and anger and hurt to say “but y’all want Biden?!?! You know he-.. voting won’t help. The electoral college is rigged. Y’all stupid af you’re sheep, etc.”

Like nigga what. Yes he stood for some trash policies that did cause us harm. We acknowledge that and don’t support them but he can change that. He can enforce what his colleague tried to put in place under his administration and what we are asking for now and if he doesn’t, HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE. Yes I fault the Democratic Party for not using these 4 years to rally behind a strong candidate as opposed to splitting ideologies 20 (yes 20) different ways. And I loved Bernie too y’all, but I’m also a skeptic. Red tape in govt exists. You can promise the world but can you actually come through in 4 years? If it was that easy it might have been done..but that’s my personal opinion. Yes we know the Green Party and libertarian exist. But guess what, they have problems too. One being they can’t gain a large enough impact and libertarians tend to not like *us*. But also, the reality of 2020 election is, if Joe wins the primary, its Joe v. Trump. Who do you choose? Your vote does matter. Yes you have a right not to vote because you don’t like either and don’t think your vote actually counts. But do you really know how the electoral college works? The electors are *elected* by us when we vote for the candidate of our choosing in the presidential election.The parties we choose have selected their slate of electors. The winning candidate’s parties for each state put their electors to task to cast votes. Electors pledge to vote for the states majority winner. Breaking that pledge gets them fined by the Supreme Court. In my opinion, not harsh enough. We can advocate in whatever party you align with to choose candidates with enough integrity to uphold that pledge. Advocate through your communities to hold electors accountable for upholding the pledge. In some states, the electors are listed on the ballots. In some they are not. I’ll link the source if you think I’m lying but please before you follow the advice of someone even myself about “the system not working” just research for yourself. I would be negligent in not passing along information I searched for myself. The electoral system, like many others in this county need to be fixed but they might be more “fixable” than we thought.

Bruh. Imagine if Black people put the PWI HBCU debate energy into getting each other’s friends to vote, giving back to communities these schools are in, or share some of their education with their communities and get involved in local affairs.

Maybe we wouldn’t be arguing over women’s reproductive rights now. Maybe we would have been in office in some of these states.
