The way I like to play is all about letting sims do their own thing and following their goals, making their own stories, and kind of just seeing where the game (or rather mods) take me. It’s more fun when things happen unexpectedly, and it helps keep the game from getting boring!!

Mindset: Before you do anything major in the game - ask yourself “would this actually happen in real life?” Does it make sense for your sim’s current situation? How would it fit into their story? Try to treat your sims like they’re real people with emotions, goals, and limitations!!

Housing: Don't purchase a fully decorated perfect little house, always move your sims into either empty lots or shells and fill them up over time! We are allowed to move If a house was built up rags to riches style we are allowed to ‘sell’ it for it’s full price If moved into a shell we won’t get money for the property from moving out Repairs must be made using the ‘repair’ interactions or hiring a service 'replacing' is not allowed For every lot challenge we can put one lot trait that brings in a positive - Simple Living lot trait has to be applied Wants & Fears: Try to complete at least one want before each refresh Fears do not have to be conquered Try to complete the heirs Bucket List - Bucket List goals have to be randomized If in a midlife crisis pay extra special attention to those goals!! Personality: Aspirations - Randomized allowed to re-roll the aspiration after each birthday! Sims 4 Aspiration Generator Traits - Randomized Personality Discoveries have to be decided by the yes or no wheel Yes No Picker Wheel - Get Yes or No Answer by Spinning

Jobs: Not allowed to take Phone Job opportunities For the heir try to pick a ‘open career’ e.g. Small Business, Freelance, etc. - Allowed to do Odd Jobs/Side Hustles/Part-time Jobs Career has to align with the sims’ personality You are allowed to apply for goverment benefits Spouses/Partners: No moving in until Sim gets the want or Partner proposes it - Partner does not bring in money from moving in!! No Engagement/Marriage until Sim gets a want or partner proposes it - If Partner proposes moving in/marriage/engagement the yes or no wheel has to be spun Yes No Picker Wheel - Get Yes or No Answer by Spinning Wicked Whims: Random Sex offers have to go through the yes or no wheel - established partners can just accept/decline Seductive Looks have to go through the yes or no wheel Pregnancy: If one, or both, Parents do not want a child the yes or no wheel has to decide Yes No Picker Wheel - Get Yes or No Answer by Spinning - If the wheel says yes to terminating the Pregnancy but we do not have money to terminate it the pregnancy will go through!

Offspring: Naming: Go down the ABC per Sim Traits: Always randomized - unless you have an established idea for the sim Heir can be whoever we vibe with the most Lumpinou Mods: Interactions have to always be decided by fate Death: If a Sim dies we are not allowed to plead for their life Cannot bring a Sim back from the dead No interactions with ghosts unless the Sim is very into the Paranormal Wheel of Drama Can be used whenever you're bored! For all intents and purposes, this is a "community project". I am willing and able to create and maintain the required override, the hundreds upon hundreds of unique 9-digit "IDs" for the "TagValueNumber", and the unique Strings, etc., but I can't possibly override every custom CAS item in existence.

Help me make this a reality, and also, keep your fingers crossed that the override doesn't break under the weight of the hundreds upon hundreds of entries I'm adding to it.

Oh hai, @sims4studioofficial. Can you add a BATCH FIX that <LOOKS THROUGH MY WISH LIST> allows us to add a "SpecialContent" TAG with a custom "TagValueNumber" to a whole folder of CAS mods? Even if you can't get the "CategoryNumber" to copy properly, a BATCH FIX will at least eliminate half the busywork.

🎓 HOW IT DO, PIKACHU:

If you're well-versed in creating or modifying CAS content, all you need to do is add a new TAG to your swatches - you can do just the first swatch, but you should do all swatches - and change the "CategoryNumber" to "127" (without the quotes), and change the "TagValueNumber" to the desired 9-digit "ID".

For everyone else who is new to this, instructional screenshots have been provided under the spreadsheet. Don't forget to grab the JSON files and toss them into "Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Custom Tags"to make life easier.

😁Tips to Keep Your Sims 4 Save from Breaking Down! 💣🤞🏾

If you've been on YouTube lately, you've probably seen the wave of players dealing with corrupted saves, forever loading screens, and worlds breaking beyond repair. It’s frustrating, but after months of rebuilding my own save (with over 30,000 mods and CC files—yes, really😕), I’ve found some ways to keep major errors at bay.😁

While no save is completely error-proof, these tips might help you avoid game-breaking issues and keep your Sims’ world running smoother.

1️⃣ Backup, Backup, Backup!

Always keep a copy of your save outside the game—on your desktop or an external drive. Do NOT rely on the in-game "Recover Save" feature, because if your save is corrupted, chances are the recovered version is too.

2️⃣ Use "Save As" Instead of Spamming Save

Instead of constantly clicking "Save," use "Save As" and create a fresh save. Overwriting the same file multiple times (7-10 times or more) can bloat the file and slow down your game. Once you've saved a new version, delete the old one (since you have a backup anyway!). This keeps your save cleaner and prevents sluggish performance.

3️⃣ Be Mindful of Lot Placement

Some worlds are known for stuck items, exclamation mark errors, or disappearing lots—especially San Myshuno, Oasis Springs, Willow Creek, and Evergreen Harbor. If you're having issues, avoid placing residential-Rental lots there.

However, I’ve found Del Sol Valley, Ciudad Enamorada, Tomarang, and Ravenwood to be much more stable for residential and rental lots!

4️⃣ Don’t Go Overboard with Mansions

Large homes with tons of clutter and objects can bog down your game. If you don’t love playing super-rich Sims in mansions, consider using large lot spaces (50x40 and up) for community lots instead of oversized residential builds. It helps keep your save lean and functional.

5️⃣ Stop Hoarding Photos

Sims’ in-game photographs and screenshots take up a surprising amount of space. Keep only 10-20 photos per household and delete the rest. Also, regularly empty the "Screenshots" folder in your Sims 4 directory to avoid unnecessary bloating.

6️⃣ Keep Your World Clean

While your Sims sleep, take a quick scan of the neighborhood and delete random objects left lying around (plates, trash, random items). This helps prevent save file bloat and keeps the world from lagging.

7️⃣ Purge Unnecessary NPCs

Check Manage Households and delete unneeded NPCs. The game constantly generates new townies, and over time, they clog up your save. You don’t have to delete all of them, but clearing out a chunk can help performance.

Bottom Line

When your save file becomes bloated with unnecessary things, it becomes unstable! That means it will start to break down and cause issues—just like the errors many players are experiencing right now.

Keeping your save clean and optimized is the best way to prevent crashes, long load times, and corruption before they happen.

Final Thoughts

😕Is my game completely error-free? Nope. Right now, I’m dealing with rain and snow falling inside my Sims’ apartments and houses (because of course, EA). And I still get the occasional MCCC Last Exception (but they’re minor).

However, I’m NOT experiencing the major game-breaking errors that are all over YouTube. A few months ago, my save was nearly unplayable, but these changes made a huge difference.

GROWING PAINS: A MINI LEGACY CHALLENGE by @ka1omi

i would first like to thank you amazing creators such as @thatssojordy @oshinsimblr @sashasspace @cocoelleansims @themintsimmer @alycemichelleee @ellesimsworld @simelune & many more for your amazing content and mods that make this game what it is.

@thatssojordy recently dropped a new mod called Growing Pains, which can be (and definitely should be) used in this challenge, and having immediately used it in game, it is honestly amazing and what inspired me to create this challenge. i've also been watching legacy LPs and just recently watched Inside Out 2 so this was born. it's nothing crazy, only 5 generations that can either be used in order or used as standalone challenges.

all packs are not required, however, they will enhance your gameplay as well as different mods that have been listed in the google doc. as this is my first ever legacy challenge i have created, please feel free to let me know on anything i can improve on or any changes that you would like to see or if you have any questions.

a nice fun fact about these equippable props :j

the knife & megaphone is still very much a CAS item instead of an object, except I'm utilizing the back attachment category for them, which came w/ infant carriers for growing together (I did manage to make these objs base game compatible:]).

perks of the back attachment category: they don't conflict with any CAS items since it has a separate texture space (like bb objects), and can be used with hats/bracelets/whatever else (infant carriers, & by extension these props, are unusable in CAS due to the way it's set up, but who needs it there anyway?)

i might end up creating the props myself to 1) make use of the back attachment category and 2) make it easier to download accs/props if everything is at once place :D
