HAUS : Miscellaneous - a sims 4 custom content collection.

introducing the fourth part of my HAUS collection. this part focuses on the random items that i personally find necessary in my sims homes. i understand that this might not interest everyone & i promise i'll be back working on the rooms soon. this set includes various outlets & light switches alongside household electronics such as a burglar alarm, thermostat & doorbell.

i've stuck to a pretty basic colour palette here with what i believe to be the perfect neutrals to suit any home whether you love the basic whites or if you like the warm toned beiges to match your wallpaper. i've tried to match a semi modern theme with the electronics without them appearing too expensive looking & tech-y, in hopes that it'll suit a low budget home also.

alongside my latest HAUS collection, i've released this alarm clock for my free members. this alarm clock is functional with LOT51's sunrise alarm clock but without can be used just as decor. i personally find alarm clocks to be a staple in my builds & during gameplay. i tried to create an item that can suit all bedrooms, whether it be high end or a budget friendly kids room.

Hey everyone,

My latest mod is here! I've been wanting to create something like this for a while, and I'm happy to say it's ready to go.

Create your own shift schedules, whatever your career (yes, it works for school too), and choose from Morning, Day, Evening or Night presets. If you don't see a schedule you like, you can easily create your own. Just head to Computer → Career → AnyShift and choose the days you want to work and the start and finish time. Your new schedule will stay with your Sim, even when they're promoted, and you can disable that option or reset to the careers' default settings any time.

I've included the latest version of my mod library in this post, as this requires it. Replace any current versions of it with the attached. I hope you like it!

Mod Collection: Genetics Overhaul!

This is a collection of mods that completely change the game's genetics.

Main Mod

Makes genetic inheritance from grandparents possible (TS4 doesn’t support this, in case you didn’t know)

Remembers natural hair and eye colors, so your Sims can dye their hair and wear colored contact lenses without affecting their genetics

Fixes the inheritance of occult eyes (children usually inherit random ones)

Customize probabilities so that genetics work the way you want it to!

Better Inheritance

This mod enforces stricter inheritance rules.

The exact skin tone is inherited, not just an approximate one of the same category (cool / warm / neutral)

Parents’ skin colors do not blend: either one or the other is inherited

Archetype (race) is taken into account when inheriting skin, hair, and eye to minimize weird combinations like dark-skinned Asians with white hair

No Weird Age Up and Random Genetics

TLDR; this mod fixes the ugliness :D

No more small chins

Fixes the odd placement of facial features, especially the eyes and mouth

For many sliders, randomness is limited or completely disabled

Affects both NPC generation and aging

🏠 Housing Authority Mod — Public Housing & Section 8 for The Sims 4

Your Sims can finally apply for real subsidized housing. Housing Authority is a deep gameplay overhaul that adds a full public-housing system to The Sims 4. Apply through a Housing Authority Office, get processed by a Caseworker, wait on a lottery list, and live inside the real rules of the program: income-based rent, annual inspections, recertification, income reporting, warnings, and everything that comes with it.

✨ What it does

🏢 The Office & Caseworkers — a rabbit-hole Housing Authority Office to visit, plus real Caseworker NPCs (red "CASEWORKER" title) who come to your lot to process your case in person.

📋 Applications & Eligibility — apply for Public Housing or a Housing Choice Voucher from your Sim's pie menu; income & household-size eligibility checks; required documents; approval/denial letters; and a one-time appeals process.

⏳ Waitlist & Lottery — a position-scaled waitlist, periodic weighted lottery, and emergency priority for homeless or near-broke households.

🔑 Public Housing — a unit sized to your family, income-based rent (30%), annual inspections & recertification, and transfers as your family changes.

🎟️ Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) — voucher amount by size + income, landlords who accept or deny, lease signing, move with your voucher (portability), and a voucher that grows/shrinks with your income. (Currently you stay on your lot so it's an honor system, but in the future there will be moving options.)

⚖️ Enforcement — income reporting deadlines, complaint inspections, warnings → benefit pause → termination, repayment plans (debt follows you), and reapply after a cooldown.

🚪 Leave anytime — walk away from the program whenever you want; regular Sims 4 bills return and all benefits/checkups stop.

🔧 Under the hood — no EA overrides (mod-friendly), regular utility bills auto-waived while housed, save data stored outside your save, and everything configurable.

▶️ Getting Started — a quick walkthrough

1. Apply. Click one of your Sims and open the Housing Authority menu. Choose Apply for Public Housing or Apply for Housing Choice Voucher. You'll get a letter listing the documents you need.

2. Submit your documents. Click your Sim → Housing Authority → Submit Documents. (Prefer roleplay? Choose Visit Housing Authority to handle it at the office, or use housing.caseworker to have a caseworker come to you and pick Meet with Caseworker.) Once your file is complete, the office checks your income — if eligible, you're placed on the waitlist.

3. Wait for the lottery. Check your spot with Housing Authority → Check Application Status. Selection happens by lottery over several days (longer if you're further down the list; much shorter with emergency priority). In a hurry? Type housing.lottery to draw right now.

4. Get housed. When selected, finish up via Housing Authority → Visit Housing Authority (or meet the caseworker):

Public Housing: you're assigned a unit + income-based rent. (Currently you stay on your lot so it's an honor system, but in the future there will be moving options.)

Voucher: your voucher is issued — then use Use Housing Voucher to find a landlord (they may decline; try again until one accepts and you sign a lease).

5. Live in the program. Rent is charged automatically and your normal utility bills are waived. Keep up with Report Income Change and the automatic annual inspections & recertification.

6. If things slip. Missed rent, failed inspections, or unreported income earn warnings → benefit pause → termination, with a repayment plan for anything owed.

7. Leaving. Housing Authority → Leave Housing Authority anytime — bills return, benefits stop, and you can reapply whenever.

💡 Tip: type housing.settings to see every option, then housing.set <option> <value> to tune the experience.

Hey guys! Just wanted to share a few screenies of the current family I’m playing.

Meet Ashley and her 18-year-old son, Trey. They’re currently cramped into a tiny, two-bedroom apartment sitting right above a little diner in Strangerville. Honestly, while being broke in real life is stressful, these little drab apartments look so cute and cozy in The Sims!

The diner downstairs is completely functional, too. Sims are constantly dropping by all day to grab a bite, mingle, sip on some bubble tea, or play the pinball machine in the back.

When Trey isn’t up on the rooftop smoking that zahh, you can usually find him hanging out at the diner with his homies. He is absolutely desperate to get out of the ghetto. His current master plan? Breaking into houses and robbing folks until he makes enough simoleons to buy a nice house in a better world. Welp... that’s our goal anyway! 💀😂

Fix Inappropriate Behavior in Restaurant

I'm tired of all these bugs when you just want your Sims to have a nice dinner. So, with this mod:

Only Waiters collect dishes

Waiters can also take out the trash

Cleaning autonomy is turned off for all other Sims

No nude actions at the lot (I got insane during testing because of the rain shower!)

All NPCs are immune to temperature

Visitors prefer to sit instead of wandering around

Visitors prefer to chat with their company instead of bothering the active household

Children can visit the restaurant not only with their parents, but with the grandparents and great grandparents too; allowed children age now includes young adults

Children finally visit the restaurant with their relatives instead of sticking to a random couple of Sims

Restaurant staff ignore weather, as well as can't get scared, dazed uncomfortable or stressed. Waiters running because of the thunder fear pissed me off

Other NPCs can't get scared (for the same reason)

Other NPCs outside autonomy is limited when it's light rain or heavy snow; this autonomy is almost turned off when it's heavy rain, storm, thunder, thundersnow, lightning or freezing

Visitors autonomy, including active Sims, turned off for:

Workout and running

Cooking, bartending and grabbing a snack

Sleeping, bathing

Dancing, singing, playing the instruments and performance tipping

Computer using

Tornadoes have finally rolled in. The forecast can turn on you now: dark skies, howling wind, thunder, lightning and flying debris, plus a whole prep-and-survive loop so your Sims actually have to brace for the storm.

This is an early BETA and I'd LOVE your feedback. It's playable start to finish today, and there's a big roadmap below.

✨ WHAT'S IN THE BETA

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🌩️ Real tornado storms — a genuine severe storm rolls in: dark clouds, wind, thunder, lightning strikes and blowing debris.

📢 Watch → Siren warnings — a calm "Tornado Watch" gives you a few hours to prepare, then an URGENT siren (with the game's alert sting) sounds when the tornado actually hits.

🏃 Secure Outdoor Items — during a warning, click your Sim and send them jogging around the yard to storm-proof your things. Takes ~30 sim-minutes (no instant wins!). Anything secured rides out the storm undamaged.

🏠 Take Shelter — one click rallies the whole household indoors. Everyone walks to safety on their own, and infants/toddlers get whisked inside (they can't shelter alone). When the tornado hits, the family auto-heads inside too.

💥 Storm damage — outdoor furniture gets battered and grimy as the storm rages.

🔧 Clean Up & Handiness — after the storm, click any storm-damaged object and your Sim walks over, cleans/repairs it, and levels up Handiness while they're at it.

🎮 HOW TO PLAY

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

During a warning, click your active Sim for "Secure Outdoor Items" and "Take Shelter." After a storm, click any battered object for "Clean Up Storm Damage."

To trigger and control the weather (it'll also do it automatically randomly during spring), open the cheat console (Ctrl + Shift + C) and type any of these:

• tornado.warn [hours] — Issue a Tornado Watch. The tornado hits after ~[hours] sim-hours (default 3) and unlocks the prep actions on your Sim. This is the full experience.

• tornado.summon [hours] — Skip the warning — a tornado strikes right now (default ~3h long).

• tornado.clear — Calm the skies and end the event.

• tornado.secure — Instantly protect all outdoor items (skips the 30-min action).

• tornado.shelter — Send the whole household indoors right now.

• tornado.indoors — Report who's inside vs. outside.

• tornado.damage [0–1] — Batter a fraction of your outdoor items now (default 0.4).

• tornado.repair — Instantly clean up all storm damage.

• tornado.status — Weather & season diagnostics.

• tornado.forecast — Peek at / roll the forecast.

• tornado.lightning — Fire off a lightning strike.

Tip: try "tornado.warn 0.1" to make the tornado hit in a few minutes so you can test the whole warning → prep → storm → cleanup loop quickly.

cuddle while watching tv

this mod adds a new romantic interaction: "cuddle while watching tv". it becomes available when two sims are sitting close to each other and both of them are watching tv.

base game compatible requires the xml injector

by default, the animation depends on the actor's gender: - if the actor is a female sim, she will be the one being cuddled. - if the actor is a male sim, he will be the one doing the cuddling. if you want to change this, use my other mod.

it works similarly to the in game "cuddle while watching movie" and "snuggle" interactions, with similar outcomes, autonomy and availability requirements.

the sims facial expressions will reflect the emotions they are feeling at that moment.

important issue: there is no real tv focus!

sims will not actually keep looking at the tv, so please place the tv in front of the sofa if you want the interaction to look more natural.

in the original "cuddle while watching movie" interaction, the tv focus is mostly done through head movement, and even there it doesn't always look perfect. but with a more complex pose like this, where sims are actually cuddling, i could not make it work in a way that looked good.

the interaction is available when sims are sitting close to each other on regular sofas or benches. sectional sofas are not supported. both sims should already be watching tv, either a tv channel or a movie.

you can find the interaction in the 'romance' category. it lasts around 90–120 in-game minutes.

recommended mod: kayladot’s "invite to watch tv and movies". it can help you get both sims to watch tv together before using this interaction. notes: - i didn’t create a custom buff for this interaction, because sims already get plenty of buffs from watching tv and socializing while cuddling. - at first, i wanted to make an override for "cuddle while watching movie", but it did not work well, so i made this as a separate interaction instead.

Two months post-baby, and the honeymoon phase is officially over. Honey’s body completely gave out today—she woke up shivering with a severe viral illness. Just one more uncomfortable thing to add to her already long list of uncomfortable things...😢

Then there’s Saint. Chronic burnout turned into complete detachment. The stresses of his (Limo Driver) job and a screaming baby when he comes home has worn him out. Honey stares at him, wondering if he even notices that she's sick...

She can feel the distance growing between them. They haven't shared as much as a kiss since Jr has been born. She knows they desperately need to talk about their marriage before it's too late. But looking at how checked out he is, she's wondering when she does talk to him...will he even hear her?😬😕
