“That would be nice,” she said with a small smile, “I don’t have much in the way of blood I’m not here for long but I’ve been told that I’m a great conversationalist.”
Elliott beamed. ‘That’s okay! I’ve been told that I talk too much, but I’m sure that’s nearly the same thing.’
alphaincxntrol:
“Do too!” Alex countered, hands on her hips.
“And fine, I’ll just bet on you when others are stupid enough to try and outdrink you.” It’ll line her pockets with money if anything.
‘Do not!’ He was struggling to contain a giggle.
Excitement lit his face. ‘You should do that, you’d win! Unless it was another vampire.’ He still thought he might be able to give another vampire a run for their money, but it would be a lot more of a real challenge.

It had been a long while since he had last seen Arkady, and Elliott was beginning to wonder if he never would again. Ark had made it pretty clear that one day he might just vanish, whenever whoever was hurting him decided to move somewhere else. Or decided to kill him.
So when he saw Ark at a table in a quiet corner of the pub, Elliott felt a burst of relief. He tried to assess how badly hurt he was, but he seemed okay. No worse than usual, anyway; he was never okay.
After he had paid for his drink, he made his way over to Arkady. ‘Can I sit?’ he asked, nodding towards the empty seat.

‘You’re speaking from experience here, aren’t you?’ Elliott asked, already knowing the answer. She sounded eerily like Magnus when he had drunk one too many cocktails on a bad night.
He felt like his whole life - and unlife - had been made up of bad choices, though most of them had been made unconsciously. He just made his way through the world acting without thinking, usually causing some kind of disaster, usually getting out of it miraculously unscathed. At some point that was probably going to end. He was immortal, after all. He couldn’t live for eternity on luck.
“And do people ever punch you in the face when you do that??" - Fang

‘When I do what?’ Elliott frowned. He wasn’t used to Fang asking him questions that confused him. Usually he was the one confusing the poor werewolf. But then realisation dawned on him, but the frown only deepened.
‘You mean, like, when I talk?’ Then the frown vanished, and he shrugged his shoulders. ‘Sometimes, yes. Usually because I don’t know when to stop talking. You know like that time when I told you--’ He stopped speaking abruptly, flashing the werewolf an innocent grin. ‘Never mind.’

Flo winced as she saw how uncomfortable he looked, she hadn’t meant for the conversation to go like this. Although she supposed she hadn’t expected to be having this conversation at all.
“Honestly you’re fine, I swear. You don’t have to worry about me.”
‘Do you...maybe...want some company?’ Elliott offered, still feeling responsible for having woken her up. It wasn’t like he’d be going to sleep anytime soon, even if he tried.

Hailey couldn’t keep the grin from her face. Many factors contributed to this grin of hers: The fact that someone was willing to help her, the fact that she was trying to be useful without breaking and entering, and the fact that Elliott gave her his name. For some reason, a part of Hailey translated I’m Elliott to We’re officially friends now!. And, in her defence, he was pretty friendly. There has to be a reason friends and friendly had the same base word, right? RIGHT?
“It’s nice to officially meet you!” She didn’t remember wanting to offer her hand for a handshake – she did remember wanting to hug him, though – but it was already out there for the taking.
“Well– I’d snoop around? See if I can find anything suspicious in the missing vampires’ personal belongings? Not that I want to pry, and you’ve probably already searched and everything– but I have a big imagination, and I was thinking maybe I’d get my eye on something you haven’t? I overthink a lot– and talk a lot, you might have noticed. And my brother once told me I might have ADHD, which I never confirmed or anything, but my train of thought doesn’t have to be in one place in order to come up with theories, you know?”
Elliott couldn’t help smiling in response. It was rare for him to not be smiling at all, and so when that grin lit Hailey’s face, his own was almost automatic. He was sure he’d know if she wasn’t really as nice as she was pretending to be. He was sure.
‘It’s nice to meet you too!’ he said, shaking the offered hand. ‘And uhh...thanks. For wanting to help. I haven’t met many humans who wanted to help us before.’ He spoke in a lighthearted way, his earlier discomfort falling effortlessly away as if it had never been there at all, replaced instantly by his usual bright demeanor.
He still wasn’t sure it was a good idea to let her into the Dumort and he didn’t think it would serve much purpose, but still, if she was going to help it was only fair to let her look for herself. That way they were on even footing. At the very least, it would give her some idea of what the vampires who had gone missing were like. But it would still be a risk. A big one.
‘Oh hey, me too!’ he suddenly said excitedly at the mention of ADHD, as if she had just stated that her favourite colour was yellow. ‘Except when I was a kid ADHD wasn’t a thing, y’know. No one had heard of it yet. It was only a few years ago when one of my friends said he thought I might have it.’ A few years ago, to Elliott, could be anywhere from last year to a decade ago. He wasn’t great at keeping track of time.
‘Okay so...’ He glanced up at the Dumort once again, chewing his lip - a dangerous thing to do when you had razor sharp fangs but he never learned. When he looked back at Hailey, he had a determined expression in his eyes. ‘I can let you in, but if anyone finds out they’ll kill me, so it’ll have to be during the day when everyone is asleep. Uh... How good are you at stealth?’
Circle members aren’t welcome in my club. Leave.
alphaincxntrol:
“Not fair, you always make shit up!”
‘I do not!’ Elliott protested, trying and failing to look offended. ‘Maybe you should just stop betting you could drink me under the table.’

Flo took a deep breath trying to calm her self, just because she was in a bad mood doesn’t mean that she should take it out on somebody else. Especially when he looked like he felt bad about waking her up.
“No, you’re fine. I mean the quieter thing might stop someone else from yelling at you but I’m awake now so it’s okay.”
Another surge of guilt rose at the words I’m awake now, and Elliott shuffled his feet uncomfortably.
‘Sorry,’ he said again. ‘I’m...not really great at keeping quiet.’ He paused before adding hastily, ‘But I really will try! Maybe you could go back to sleep for a while?’
