there is a bitter glory to be unearthed within the mercenaries, men & women who strictly adhere to / harness solar energies & turn all to cinders. titans that stole themselves away to the wilderness, enclosed by archaic debris & rust chronicling a forlorn age. they underwent a metamorphosis, shedding weakness for strength – & when one tells you that their company is not for frail consciousness, listen. ❪ it is their light, after all, that burns the brightest. ❫
at genesis, there were only XVIII – twenty-eight – sunbreakers who chose to function independently of the last city. this number was embroidered into their marks, a testimony to the company’s founders. VIII - LXI – eight to sixty – encapsulates how many weeks it may necessitate of an aspiring sunbreaker to conclude their trials. although the mercenaries oversee the forge & shepherd prospective titans toward said solar class, seldom do they bestow a privilege unto them to join their hierarchy. the mercenaries are extremely tight-knit, evaluating each sunbreaker for any “ faults “ in their character – for example, hints of present & future betrayals. second chances for individuals who committed crimes in the past are seldom handed out, but only for those who truly endeavor to repent & exhibit absolute remorse for them.
