For a very long time, Eames was told he was a ladies man, and so he believed them. When his body wasn’t his own, but instead another tool for his government to use to steal secrets, he didn’t choose his partners. He was not in control over his sex life for a very long time, and so yes he knew he was attracted to men but he always just assumed he was attracted to women too. But he’s not. Sex for a very long time was something he wasn’t an active mental participant, and now he’s afraid it’s too late for him. Eames is a gay man who dealt with compulsory heterosexuality his entire life.

Do not think you know anything about Eames. Even those people in romantic relationships with him, there is so much of his life that you cannot trust is a true story. There are very few people Eames doesn’t lie to on a daily basis, even if he’s being honest about his future don’t trust that the stories about his past aren’t lies.
