Intro Post!!

I'm Gavin! I make art on occasion and I'll be posting it here. I don't really know what I'm doing but you get to watch me struggle and learn (hopefully)

I have done art with pencil, charcoal (very limited), colored pencils, and watercolors

I am particularly interested in landscape art and art that has roots in the natural world, but I'm open to expanding my topics to other things as well

This is a brand new page, but some of my art isn't, meaning I'll be posting some older stuff at first until I'm caught up with the present

one last thing, I might be making some sideblogs at some point with different focuses, and if/when that happens I'll make sure to link them for you

Oh boy I have a lot to yap about with this one

This guy very much symbolized a turning point in my art. This was the first big project of this class and I honestly couldn't be happier with it. At some point I added a text box with a fable in it about a frog and a fox, but this picture doesn't have that bit yet. As per the assignment for this project, I made an origami figure (the frog) and positioned it with another student's origami (the fox) to create a scene which I had to draw. I really am proud of my ability to make the figures look like they are made of paper. This drawing proved difficult for me to work through, but was so much more rewarding than any other piece I had done up until this point.

I started my first art class! these were my first few drawings of this semester before I got into big projects. One of the drawings is of me and my partner, and was actually a personal project as a present for them. I'm particularly proud of that one

When I made these I was in an art appreciation class, and I had started to understand a bit more of the mindset of real artists. Both drawings are self portraits, the one being a faithful attempt at realism, and the other being an attempt at cubism

Tada!!! here's my first art projects! I drew these I believe around January of 25', and these were the first batch of drawings that got me seriously interested in art. I'm particularly proud of that skull :D
