“They say love hurts, but that’s not true, the only thing that hurts, is the thought of losing you...”
First of all, this isn't any hate towards you. Ppl keeps mentioning how Smackle keeps flirting with other boys and how she shouldn't, but how about your homie Farkle who is in love with Riley and is emotionally cheating on Smackle and leading her on
i never even thought of that omg
they cheating on each other
nice lesson @ michael jacobs
alright i love smackle but she needs to stop flirting with other boys in front of my homie farkle i dont know how much more his little genius heart can take
okay I love Riley Matthews but how come when she has an identity crisis no one questions whether or not she likes Lucas AND everyone in the class tries to get her back but when Maya has one everyone is like “you don’t like Lucas” and only Riley tries to get her back.........
“ Almost is never enough “
(not my gifs, I just put words on them haha)
Journey to the ski lodge.
Chapter Two of “Are You Sure?” (written by me :))
Maya's POV
I plopped down onto the brown, leather bus seat.
"These seats are nice for a school bus." I said gliding my fingertips along the top of seat in front of me.
Riley turned to her left to face me, she was chuckling.
"Oh peaches, why are you so interested? They're just ordinary bus seats." She said smiling her head slightly tilted to the left.
"I don't know..." I said slightly trailing off.
I let go of the seat in front of me and turned to Riley to continue the conversation, but she was distracted by the red and blue birds flying out the window.
"Look at the pretty birds! Peaches! Look!" She said in awe. I giggled in response.
I sat back in my seat picking at my red nail polish. I know why I was so interested in these bus seats.
It's because I need a distraction. A distraction from the whole liking-the-same-boy-as-my-best- friend-Riley situation. And anything, I mean anything that can help me stop thinking about him helps.
I sat back up and I peeked my eyes over the bus seat to see everyone loading the bus. And then I spotted him. Lucas Friar. The boy I wasn't supposed to fall in love with.
After making awkward eye contact with him, I quickly sat back down into my seat, and started to play with my denim jacket.
The denim jacket that he bought for me.
"Stop thinking about him!" I muttered angrily under my breath.
Riley turned to me with a concerned expression, no longer distracted by the colored birds that flew outside the window. "Everything okay Maya?"
When Riley is genuinely concerned, she usually calls me by my actual name, Maya.
I took off my jacket placing it in between us and I turned to her with a fake smile growing on my face. "I'm always okay. Don't worry about me."
She started laughing and smiling (yes she does do this a lot) and turned to look out the window again. This time she was distracted by a little furry squirrel that was climbing up a tree.
Look how happy she is. How could anyone- or me for that matter- break her happiness?
I faced forward staring at the back of the blank bus seat in front of me.
I need to figure out how to get out of this triangle situation without Riley or Lucas getting hurt. If anyone is getting hurt it's me. I can handle it. At least, I tried to convince myself I could.
Lucas's POV
I climbed up the three steps of the yellow school bus and skipped my usual friendly conversation with the bus driver.
I have a lot on my mind right now; I don't really feel like myself.
How did I let my two best girl friends fall in love with me?
I mentally slapped my own face.
I scanned the bus for Zay, who said he would save me a spot next to him.
"Lucas! I'm over here!" Zay said with his usual smile and awkward wave.
I walked down the narrow aisle of the bus and sat next to him. I had the aisle seat.
He leaned into me and whispered in my ear, "Don't worry Friar. I made sure to get a seat next to Riley and Maya."
Sh*t
I turned to my right to see Riley and Maya.
Riley is laughing and telling Farkle and Smackle (who sat behind them) about some squirrel climbing up a tree. It made me smile.
That's something I love about Riley, she's so sweet and in her own world (my friends and I call it Rileytown) Although it can be too much for me at times. I also love how she cares a lot about her friends, she's a lot like me in that sense.
And Maya... well I don't know what Maya was doing. She was staring blankly at the seat in front of her with the denim jacket that I bought her (denim looks good on her) on her lap (which made me happy she had brought it on this trip).
"Hey Maya, everything okay?" I said lightly tapping her shoulder.
She broke out of her trance and turned to me. Smiling, which I could tell was a fake smile, she replied, "Yeah Huckleberry. I'm always okay. Don't worry about me."
"You know I'm always here for you, right? If you ever need to talk about something just come to me." I said leaning over the aisle of the bus to rub her back.
That's something that Maya and I have that Riley and I don't. We always are easily able to have deep conversations about anything really. She can cheer me up on my worst days, or give me advice on anything and everything. That's something I love about our relationship.
"I know moral compass. Thanks, it means a lot." She said, this time with a genuine smile.
She turned back facing the seat in front of her, staring blankly at the seat in front of her.
I need to make a decision at this ski lodge.

Thoughts before class.
Chapter One of “Are You Sure?” (written by me :))
Lucas's POV:
I dragged my feet down the long and narrow hallway slowly as I made my way to Matthews's classroom. Today I ambled alone to class instead of walking with Zay or Farkle along my side because I needed to clear my head. Although this made me look like a loner, it did help; I've made my decision. During this week's school field trip to the ski lodge I will pick either Maya or Riley. I will finally have my moment. I can't prolong this decision anymore.... it may not look like it, but it's actually making Riley and Maya more... distant? Could that even be possible? It's just that Riley had this CRAZY idea that Maya was having an "identity crisis" which made no sense because Maya and RIley are COMPLETELY different and I love completely different things about them... And ever since then it seems like Maya has been more closed off...I may not know who I'm going to pick but what I do know is I have to pick someone.
I eventually made it to class after two long minutes. I look up to of course see my two favorite girls in the world sharing small talk, laughing. How could I pick just one of them? I don't deserve either of them... I mean Maya sees the real me and she's really changed me for the better and you know Mr. Matthews's saying "people change people" and I mean I'm Riley's hero, and we're so alike......
I have an idea.
I walked over to Farkle’s desk and catch Farkle looking at Riley with that look. That look he always looks at Riley with. I've never seen him look at Smackle that way, and I can't quite decipher it.
"Hey Farkle can I talk to you for a moment?"
Farkle snapped out of his trance. "When you make your decision about Riley and Maya you can have all the time in the world." I rolled my eyes and Farkle chuckled.
"Yeah... that's actually what I wanted to talk to you about..."
Maya's POV
As I'm making small talk with Riley about how she's doing, and the color purple, I slightly shift my gaze to the left and see Lucas talking to Farkle and Farkle looking at Riley,
Oh no. Not another New Years incident. The line “Riley still loves Lucas” flashes into my head and I have the same growing pit inside my stomach that I did that night.
"What's wrong Peaches?"
I look back at Riley. Riley of course has a bright smile across her pretty face, along with concerned eyebrows.
"Nothing hun. Just got a lot going on." I said with a fake smile.
“Oh Peaches.” She laughed and told me a story about how our art teacher yelled at her for breaking into the purple paint cabinet earlier today. I laughed along with her, listening to her mellow voice, her bubbly personality. How could anyone want to take that away from her?
I again slightly shift my gaze to the left, but more subtly this time, and Lucas now sitting at his desk. He has two bags of jelly beans on his desk, one filled with yellow jellybeans and one filled with purple. Huh.
He caught me staring at him and he flashed a quick smile and an imaginary tip of his hat. I smiled awkwardly back at him and quickly looked at Riley. Then I looked at Riley, and then back at Lucas.
Riley loves Lucas. Even Farkle said it. He’s a genuis, it has to be true? RIley's happiness is the most important thing to me. Her happiness becomes before mine and that's final.
I can't let a boy break her heart. Even if I have strong feelings for that same boy.
Riley deserves Lucas. Not me.
end of chapter one.
