🔗Face to Face: Samuel & Robin.
Robin: looked down at his desk, she blinked slowly considering her job banked on a story she was sure to not be able to deliver. She shook her head for a moment before she finally said “a deputy of yours” sighing heavily. “Brown?” she questioned. “I was handed this story, I only know a few details myself. I don’t know first names” she admitted. “I have to prove to my peers, myself, and a whole town that they are safe Sheriff; are you going to let an entire community down. Or give me a good enough story to recite on the news and ease their fears?” she asked him.
Samuel: twisted the recorder on his desk, giving Ms. Ferguson a semblance of privacy as she considered this offer. He placed his elbows on his desk, clasping his hands in front of his mouth as she revealed her informant. Well, well, well…. She shocked him. He’d imagined she would give him a name. But never in his wildest dreams had he imagined it would be the right name. Interesting… he thought. Sam chuckled behind his hands, “I suppose them not trusting me should have been a given. I’m an outsider at the end of the day. He stared Robin straight in the eyes she’d been forthcoming with him and now he owed her something real. “Off the record.” He said again to make sure there was no misunderstanding. He stood and move to the board, eyes scanning each picture. “I inherited this case, from the previous sheriff. It’s about 10 years old.“ He turned to the woman, "The biggest thing these women have in common, so far, aside from being young and attractive is… none of them are from Gainsville.”
