700+ year old witch, originally born in the 1300's, doesn't possess immortality but witches in her world age extremely slow due to the magic in their veins. aside from being a witch, she's still technically human!

the only one of three children to be 'blessed' with the family magic, something inherited through bloodline alone alongside other such abilities but uh oh! that magic power was outlawed!!!

said power was hameokinesis aka the power to manipulate blood. a more detailed description of what she can do is found in her app!

manipulating blood is deeply frowned upon and was deemed illegal by the Council centuries ago and while her family originally tried to keep her power hidden, she overheard her mother actually selling her out to an inquisitor sent by the council

long story short, the home and everything inside went up in flames and from then on, cecilia went on the run, never staying in place too long

due to her past, she can come off as equally nonchalant and uncaring, almost cold in her remarks and her brutal honesty

detests telepaths reading her mind or thoughts, usually has a specially enchanted choker to prevent that but. lol. lmao. though she retains her telepathy, she only uses it in ....specific situations.

absolutely LOATHES liars which is funny given how she's created a carefully crafted one for the last 600+ years but it's fine!

" Had you mentioned that there'd be shaved ice I would have shown up sooner." not that the frozen treat was her favorite of all time, but she had a fondness for ice-cream and the like whenever winter was around. the same could be said for summertime and soups but that wasn't important right now.

despite her comment, Cecilia doesn't take any shaved ice for herself. instead, she continues to follow Django's lead, her arm wrapped loosely around his as he guides them deeper into the crystal funhouse. soon, the sound of chatter from the more occupied rooms falls to almost a whisper.

" So, where are we going? You refused to tell me on the way over here but now that we're here, come on, spit it out."

" Is that......a horse?" impossible. not even miniature horses are that size. hell, it was more like a dog but she knows her eyes aren't fooling her. that was, in fact, a horse the size of a golden retriever that decided to finish off the rest of her apple. quite frankly she's too stunned to even be annoyed at that. (a problem for her future self, she supposes– that was her lunch!)

bewildered eyes move from the horse towards what was no doubt its owner and she wonders if she's being pranked right now. seriously, a horse.....and someone dressed very much like a cowboy, right down to the matching hat.

" ........Alright, who paid you to do this? Just tell me a name and nothing will go wrong."

" Huh.....it seems anything is possible in this place." at sight of the creature, Cecilia couldn't help but to be drawn towards it. not out of any ill intentions but curiosity. magic, though common in her world, had its share of secrets and creatures such as dragons and wyverns were largely considered to be myth in the public eye. and yet, she had her suspicions that they were merely sequestered away somewhere safe, away from prying eyes and the taint of human hands.

for the better, to be truthful. too quick would the greedy come crawling on their hands and knees, begging to harness power beyond their understanding for their own material gain.

" Are they yours?" inquires the witch, her gaze moving towards the woman. " I mean, did you hatch them yourself or were they given to you?"

okay new year new vibes and so to kick things off here, i'm posting an uncapped starter call!! may or may not be winterfes related, i've yet to decide, but let's party

" Like what, someone getting their rocks off cause they got to see a little bit of ankle? " he laughs. " I mean, you ain't wrong. It's not like debauchery didn't exist until well into the 20th century. Shit's been around for ages. I just happen t' indulge in my vices differently than most rich folk. Then again, most rich folk get up to some real freaky stuff. " His mind conjures up images of the wealthy throwing similar masquerades, albeit with much heavier cult-ish undertones. Reminds him one of those sex pervert movies he's seen back in the day.

" Oh, definitely. If I know Ritsuka—and I like to believe I do—she definitely went all out with refreshments. Girl's as good of a host as there can be. Real considerate type. I just gotta try and not drink everyone under the table or else her boyfriend's gonna set me on fire while swearing in French. "

While normally Django would have begun to wonder about what food and drink their gracious hosts would be providing, he instead finds himself much more occupied by the thought of Cecilia. Or, to be more specific, her choice in dress. There's nothing particularly wrong with it at all. In fact, he finds it to be rather beautiful. Definitely draws the eyes to certain places, that he won't deny. But there is something about its design that makes him wonder if it played a factor in her choosing it. Something that, in all honesty, he might just be looking too deeply into.

But like, why does it kinda remind him of blood?

lips curve into something of a smirk as the witch laughs– whether he knew it or not, he was quite on the mark there. she holds many memories of such scenarios, whether it be from her being personally involved or coming across such a situation. " I don't doubt you. But I've seen plenty of clever ways those in high society would hide their debauchery– though from how highly you speak of the host, I don't believe much of that will happen. "

no, she believes people will be far too preoccupied with enjoying the night to its fullest for as long as they were allowed to.

" Please do your best not to. I'd hate to have my date get charred to a crisp because he took on a few too many drinking challenges. It'll make that good night kiss all the more difficult." not for her, mind you, but for him. of course, she doesn't bother elaborating on her words nor shows any hint of doing so, quite content to enjoy the liesurely pace to the main event. for someone who has spent many centuries always on the move, it was nice to not have to worry about having to look over her shoulder at every shadow that flickered as she passed.

" Unless your goal is to have me nurse you back to health. "

" Now now, no need to look so tense there, cheri." words aren't said physically. in fact, Cecilia doesn't move an inch, painted lips curved into a delicate smirk as her eyes remained focused on Snow White. no, the words are as if they were spoken inside of the other's mind like a thought. this city has taken everything else away from her, but at least it let her keep a rather useful tool of the trade.

despite the woman's lack of care for the general rules of society, she wasn't the type to recklessly going around and causing a ruckus. and if she was, well, there was usually a good reason to do so. such as now– some arrogant soul thought they got away with lifting her phone. however, they had something she wanted as well, which made it perfect.

or, almost. it could be perfect, so long as the other who caught sight of the act didn't try and be a hero about it. hence why Cecilia had no choice but intervene.

a finger rises to her lips, asking for silence on the other's part as she follows the human out of the crowded park. " Just play along, yes?"

" Y'know, for a first date, this is kinda overkill. " he jokes. That grin of his very noticeable in spite of the mask he currently wears. " But I mean shit, I wouldn't have it any other way. Let's just pray I'm still good at this, hahaha! "

Hand in hand Django and the lovely Cecilia would make their way over to Chateau d'Cendre—the manor playing host to a ball that celebrated the changing of the season. He would have to remember to congratulate Ritsuka on a job well done in setting this up. What perfect timing as the man was in desperate need of some way to spend more time with his rather bewitching companion.

" It's kinda funny, but I used t' not really be a huge fan of these parties back home. Felt way too formal for a guy like me. Stupid party animal shit is more my scene. But like.. I guess under the right circumstances these can be pretty fun. Besides, it helps to have good company too. "

" You're just too used to the wild party lifestyle. You'd be surprised at what can go on at some of these balls." she knew better than most, spending plenty years of her life being whirled around a dancefloor with the gazes of many focused on her alone. and perhaps a few of them had her whispering in a duke's ear with the promise of a power he was unable to turn down, but it's not like they're still alive to tell it. or even within this city which is all the better. she doesn't need her past actions being aired out like dirty laundry.

plus, it felt nice, to slip back into something more than a simple, everyday outfit. perhaps it was the wearing of a mask, of hiding everything but her voice from the crowd, the tantalizing allure of mystery.

" Plus, the food and drink at such parties are always of the highest quality. I'm sure somebody will end up drunk on their ass at some point during the night."

in all of her life spent awake, Cecilia has witnessed (and been a part of) some crazy things. some belonged right out of an action movie while others belonged to a fantasy novel but each and every one was another thing to check off on the list of living.

this, however................was a first.

she knows not how or why this happened and quite frankly? didn't really care to learn. all that the witch knows is when she waltzed up to a store, this man was hanging out the open window. upside down. with his jacket and pants clearly caught on the hook lock. arms fold over each other as black heels enter his vision, coming to a stop as a laugh follows suit. she trades her look of shock to something of amusement as lips curve into a grin.

" Is this supposed to be a new way to drop a pick-up line on unsuspecting passerbys?" she asks. " My, humanity grows more and more creative by the century. "

" Is there something I can help you with, honey?" words fall from her lips as if speaking about the weather, but they hold little warmth. this woman has done nothing to her and Cecilia isn't so petty nor childish to let her foul mood result in a poor greeting but she's in little mood for talking. at least, for the time being. once she got a better grasp on just what in the hell was going on, that familiar facade would slip right back into place.

for now, she must play it close to her chest. like always.

her gaze drifts over her shoulder and her body follows suit. it'd be rude to talk with her back to the other, now wouldn't it? " Or do you just like to stare at strangers?"
