Hot take: everyone in the gang is some sort of all powerful being, except for Fred, who is just a dude who managed to harness each of them, befriend them, and rope them into helping him live out his dream of solving mysteries!
Release them, Fredward Jones. Your hubris will become your undoing…
Hotter take: Freddy doesn’t actually know. The rest of the gang took those mortal forms to fuck with people but they were so endeared by earnest want to solve mysteries and help people that they’re along for the ride. And hey if Shaggy gets bodyslammed hard enough that it should have snapped his spine and he gets up fine after who notices? And if Velma knows things that she shouldn’t know on occasion, things that would have been impossible to notice without some kind of foresight or omniscience- hey, just a coincidence right? And if Daphne conveniently has a medley of strange skills- hey, rich kids are weird, right? It’s not too far fetched for her to have a hobbyist interest fencing, boxing, ballroom dancing, knitting, sewing, modern and antique fashions, and whatever else is relevant to the case at hand.
And as we all know Scooby Doo is canonically related to an elder god anyways.

anyway here were my thoughts for this au:
asher and eris have the same way home, that’s how they met. they spend their lunch breaks together. he’s known her since middle school, just like zavala, sloane and tyra. the other 2nd years think it’s so cool for eris to hang out with an upperclassman!! until they realize it’s asher. meanwhile, asher’s classmates make fun of him for hanging with a kohai.
he broke his arm falling off a bike while on holiday with his parents. it’s uncool, so he refuses to tell anyone how it happened. the sports festival is the bane of his existence. sloane knows this and tends to try and carry him through the different disciplines, which he almost appreciates, kind of, a little bit. deep down.
he doesn’t rly have friends at school, tho he knows some ppl outside of it that he socializes with. he hates school. he thinks he’s too smart for it and the ppl in it. eris, on the other hand, is quite popular somehow. everyone thinks she’s weird but she gets invited to sleep overs and shopping trips every other day. she’s neutral about this.
she loves phone- and bag charms. when asher’s on vacation or a school trip, he always buys her some without thinking abt it. she bought him one too, but he doesn’t use it.
sloane’s a popular jock and part of the hall monitors alongside zavala. she’s a goof with her friends, but towards underclassmen she tends to be more aloof and even strict. unless it’s amanda. the 1st years know this and take her with them anytime they need immunity.
