96champ:
‘I don’t know.’ Now that he had a grasp on the whole telepathy thing, he managed to shut off any communication through his thoughts. It may be easier to not sign at all, but it’s quite uncomfortable to let someone know what’s in your head. And right now isn’t really the best time to know what Red was thinking.
‘Let’s keep looking, maybe we will’ He signed towards him, though his expression turned a bit darker than neutral.
“You totally know, don’t make that blank innocent face I’ve seen it a million times.” Green said as he turned back to stare Red right in the eyes from a few inches a way. Ah, but this could get awkward fast. He backed again again and turned his head.
“Hey, can you stay by me? I don’t know about anything in this whole world, but your ugly mug is the same as ever so I’ll stick by it.” He said as he reached out his hand for Red once again. He waited for a moment, before impatiently grabbing Red’s hand again. “Come on let’s get looking already.”
96champ:
‘No I don’t’ He thought at the same time he signed towards Green. He placed his hands towards his cheeks and massaged them gently. It would be quite embarrassing if some of the ‘locals’ here thought that his name was Red because of how his face turned to that shade quite quickly. Then again he only tanned quickly instead of getting sun burnt so that’s something he didn’t worry about.
‘I think we’re the only ones here right at the moment.’ Though he made sure that he looked around to see if anyone is there at the moment, because no one should make fun of his friend especially in such a troubled time like this.
“Yeah, you do!” Green snapped back at him, and only then did he realize who the voice in his head was coming from. He had always been able to read Red better than anybody else, but they were not telepathically linked. He looked at the red of his face, and then took a step back. Turning his head away to hide his own face. “Hey, hey, don’t make a face like that. You’re gonna have me doing it too.”
Green picked up his hand and scratched the back of his neck. That thing they were both not talking about, perhaps it was best to clear it out now. “I guess, it’s always just you and me, huh? Even in this weird place, we always seem to end up together.”
His eyes gave a passing glance to Red. “Hey, do you remember my Raticate from way back. Do you think we’d find him here?”
saikiku:
If he was a Pokemon, he suppose he would be a Psychic-type. But that’s not the issue at hand. Who in their right mind throws Pokeballs at anything they found suspicious? That stranger. That’s who.
It may be impressive that they managed to hit him from that distance and the ball didn’t hit his limiters, that should be something that he can consider to deduct from the annoyance that he felt. However, instead of shrugging the other’s actions after the apology like any mature individual, Kusuo continued to stare at them… judging if they are even genuine with that apology…
Green felt himself being judged. Even without the strenger saying a single word to him, it made him even more self conscious. Which was the worst thing to be in a delicate situation, as it made him want to act out even more.
“Guess that kind of thing can’t be helped when you’re a champ like me. Here I’ll make it up to you by showing you one of my cool Pokemon.” He was a former champ, but he threw a pokeball anyway. This time away from the psychic’s head. Out came an alakazam, which hovered in the air looking at the psychic in front of him. “See, you two could be twins. We even now or what?”
@saikiku
A pokeball flew in the air, nailing the red head in the back of the head. It bounced off without doing much at all. The trainer who had threw it from a distance away, stopped, looking a combination of disappointed and mortified.
“Oh, um, you. You’re not a pokemon are you? I just thought, with the antannae and all-” Green somehow in his desperate need to explain himself had made the situation worse. It was almost artful the way he could talk so fast but only wind up digging the hole around him deeper.
“I’m uhm... what’s that word it starts with an S? I’m soar. No that’s not it. Listen it’s on the top of my tongue here.” He really was the worst sometimes, Green pushed his fist into his open hand with the realization. “Oh that’s right. I’m sorry about that, bud!”
@oneeyedkingken
“Chaaaamp- Maaaa- chaaaamp-”
Out of nowhere, a large and muscular man burst forth. He had not two but four arms, and wore nothing but a speedo showing the green skin of his body. Before Kaneki could do anything about him, the man picked him up and wrapped all four arms around him. Soon after another man arrived having caught up to the scene, he held a pokeball between his fingers.
“Heyo! Sorry about that, Champ is a hugger.” If that could be called hugging. Green did not seem too alarmed by this behavior, and in fact, this was not a man but a pokemon. The monster held Kaneki quite tenderly in his arms. “Put him down already, would ya!” Green barked at him, impatiently.
The pokemon obeyed, and Green patted him on the back as praise. He looked back to the white haired man and the blank expression on his face. “Hey, what’s with that boring face, you look like you’ve never seen a pokemon before.”
96champ:
‘Pokemon don’t talk, silly Green.’ Again, he’s having a conversation in his head. It’s not like he could open his mouth and use his vocal chords.
Red merely puffed out his cheeks at the other’s way of cheering him up. They’re grown men yet their methods seemed childish. Maybe that’s what happens when you grow old with your best friend.
‘Ow.’ He thought to himself, almost in a monotone like manner. What he doesn’t know is that he’s transmitting his thoughts over to the other unconsciously, which should be a surprise for the both of them.
Green looked behind him in shock. This time he knew he heard something. Green’s head whipped around in both directions trying to find out the source. “Hey, who is it? Whose making fun of me? I’ll show ya silly right now!”
After a few moments of hot air, he calmed down. It was venting really. He was only overreacting because he had underreacted to - their reason for being here.
He realized though, he had been pinching too hard on Red’s cheeks. He even heard Red’s voice say ow in his head. Wow, nothing had changed since they were children huh. He could still read him like the two of them were talking. Perhaps that was why these two grown men acted so childish. He let go finally, and patted his cheeks instead. “Hey, sorry about that. You wouldn’t happen to know whose making fun of me would you?”
96champ:
‘This isn’t Alola.’ Is what he first thought upon stepping foot onto what’s known as Eternity. Despite his unflappable look, Red seemed worried at their current situation. What does this mean for them? Did their Pokemon die along with them? Or maybe this was part of the tourist experience. He did read about Alola being a bit darker when it comes to their history, maybe this is just part of what they payed for. Then again, it’s not like they were on vacation in the first place.
What’s going to happen to the Battle Tree now?
Pikachu, upon sensing Red’s mild distress, rubbed his cheek against his trainer’s as a sort of comfort method.
“Pika.”
Green looked back for just a moment. He could have sworn her heard something, yet, Red’s mouth did not move at all. For once Green had no comment for the situation, his mouth hung open with only a slight ‘Whaaa’ falling out.
“Was that Pikachu talking right now?”
That was his best educated guess for the situation. It was more likely than Red talking anyway. Green had just gotten used to being the one to do the talking between the two of them. He thought deeply for a moment, and then went for Red’s cheeks too, pinching them.
“Hey, you don’t gotta talk but you can at least smile a little bit. This pace, uhh, it’s like a vacation. A second Alola right? Cheer up! You can’t pull that stoic crap forever.” As he tugged at Red’s cheeks, he tried to pull the trainer’s face into a smile.
@lunaflute
“Well hey, if it isn’t the Alola champ. Did you manage to keep your title since the last time we met?” It was probably not the best thing to say to a kid, meeting in a world like this, for the first time since their brief meeting in Alola. “You should be careful, I know better than most people how quickly you can lose a championship title.” The pokeball that Green had idly kept in his hands, he tossed it up into the air and caught it.
He was a loudmouth even in his body actions. Always a bit too obvious with what he wanted. Green looked around. A nice open field between the two of them. Ths place was no Kanto, and no Alola either, but it wasn’t bad either. He decided that just now, as he caught the pokeball again. This time, spinning it on a single finger.
“Hey, you know this time Red isn’t around to upstage me. I guess I can understand you wanting to battle him over me, the quiet type is kind of magnetic you know.” He just seemed to keep talking. This was what a person who took champion titles in Kanto acted like it seemed. “So hey, do you want to battle me? I’m not trying to steal your title or anything, it’s just for fun I swear.”
@96champ
“There you are, I’ve been looking all over for ya! We were still taking ya know, I didn’t even say goodbye yet, not one smell ya later!” Red was so quiet naturally though, it was easy for him to slip away. Even in a place like this, which Green was entirely unfamilar with, and really could have been infinity. He did not want to consider that possibility right now, there were a lot of thoughts he was pushing ot the back of his mind at the moment.
He looked silently to Red. Perhaps waiting for some kind of response. Really, he should have known better. Again he would be the one. Green reached out and grabbed Red by the hand. The two of them together again for a brief moment, until Green started to drag Red forward. “Come on, let’s go find something interesting to do. Hopefully this place won’t be boring at least.”
Hey everybody I’d love to get started on Green so here’s a plotting/starter call ad. Like this post for a multiparagraph starter, and liking this post gives me permission to message you if I have any neat ideas. Current cap is at five.
