"Oh, you know, that one girl who works at the cafe in town?"

"Who?" 

"You might as well just slap yourself right now. She's been paying rent to you for the past six years and you still don't know her wonderful skills?"

"No...?"

"Hyomin Park! She's a pastry chef! Now try this before I shove it down your throat!"

"I bow down to her skills. Hyomin, eh? Magnificent pastry chef, it is."

Tears arrived just as easily and quickly did fond memories came flooding through. They both knew this day would eventually arrive. And whether they accepted it or not, one would live on while the other would soon come to expire. The machines designed to assist in giving her a few extra days continued their droning hums, completely oblivious to their own surroundings. 

One last weak smile, one last breath, one last sigh, and her hand felt limp in the other's. All that was left behind was an interminable beep coming from the machine and a barely audible whisper, "Goodbye, Sun..."

✒The perfect date. 

Slender fingers smoothed across the crown of her head, tucking away the last few loose strands of chestnut brown hair into her neat updo of a ballerina's bun. She turned her head this way and that, checking the minor details that made up the whole of her look for the night and nearly jumped when she heard the doorbell ring. The young woman inhaled and exhaled quickly a few times, bracing herself for the night ahead of her, before she grabbed her purse and headed down the hallway towards the front door of her home. 

When she finally opened the door, a very well-dressed young man looked up from the modest bouquet of roses he had brought and stared in awe at his date for the evening. "Hey.." She gave a toothy grin which was maximized by her red lipstick before putting one foot forward onto her porch but quickly retracting it at the shock from the cold concrete, proceeding to reveal a panicked look on her face, causing her to retreat back into her home, "S-shoes! I forgot shoes! Jeez... I'm an idiot!" She ran up the hallway towards her room, sliding to a stop and holding onto the doorway for support before she picked up her blue pumps that had been waiting patiently on the floor. She hurriedly slipped one on and hopped a few steps, in an effort to return to the boy in waiting quicker, almost slipping again but managing to catch herself before falling. The other shoe eventually found itself snugly fitted onto her other foot and she heaved a sigh of relief when she finally returned her attention to her date. "Sorry about that... Let's go!" The other chuckled knowingly at her and handed her the flowers which she happily accepted and sniffed before leaving it on the counter a few feet away from the entrance. He stuck out an angled arm, offering it to the smiling girl as they headed off for their night of fun.

if you want to sleep, there’s beds at your inn. why are you sleeping on seungho’s couch? (/shakes his head) you’re twenty five … (/about to question it but drops it anyways) the soup’s filling, i’ll get you some garlic bread with it. (/places his hand on top of her head) ask jaejoong about the business, the only job i have is to make sure that edible food get out of the kitchen quickly as it can. (/turns on the stove for the soup)

(/turns to stare at him pointedly even though his back is facing her) You and him should both know why I don't like staying there. (/mumbles) It still gives me the  creeps even if I am twenty-five... (/shrinks a little when he pats her head and sets her eyes on the pot of soup on the stove behind him) But I never see Jaejoong anymore so I can't ask him even if I wanted to. (/purses her lips)What kind of soup is it...?

Oh, no, no! Not at all! I really appreciate it when people take time out of their day  to actually come to see me! It gives me a nice warm feeling inside~ (/gives a cheesy smile) Awesome! Well, I suppose I'll see you around then, mister attorney! (/grins and waves before hopping away)

You could say that, I guess… [breaks into laughter] To be honest, I’m not quite sure myself, but thank you for that compliment miss Sunye, I am pleased. [smiles] How do you say so? I’m quite new to the thought of living in a small town, I’m sure there’s a lot that you could share.

Well, for one thing, I spend almost all of my time managing the Inn. I literally don't have time for anything else but welcoming newcomers when I get the chance to... (/gives a nervous chuckle) I guess you're right. I grew up around these here parts after all! (/tries to mimic a certain accent but fails and starts laughing at herself) But if you ever need anything you shouldn't hesitate to ask. (/grins)

(/disturbed by the sudden noise in the kitchen and knows who’s making the noise) sunye, didn’t i tell you to knock on the back door? someone will always open the door for you (/shakes his head as he moves the pan on the stove, mixing the sauce and the pasta together) this is for the customer, not you. i have some soup leftover from lunch i made for the staff. (/quickly finishes up by placing it into the dish neatly and passes it onto a chef before looking over at her) you need to stop coming in through the window, what if you damage something in the kitchen?

(/scowls at him) Aish... stingy. Not you too. First that idiot Seungho won't let me sleep on his couch and now you deny me my rights to pretend to be a ninja? (/pouts) But I want pasta.... (/gives him the puppy dog eyes even though she knows it won't work and gives up about two seconds later) Meh... I'm not that hungry anyhow. (/sighs and walks over to the spice rack and reads through all the labels) How's the business been doing? You seem busy as always...

(/crawls into the Shack's kitchen through an open window and tumbles through) Oof! (/stands up and brushes herself off while tip-toeing around before finding Joongki at the stove, as usual, and sneaks up behind him, peeking over his shoulder to see what he's cooking but her stomach starts grumbling very audibly)  Dude... I want some... (/drools)

How’s the business? There seems to be a lot of new comers in town. And I heard the sprites are back. {` bites down her lips and shrugs } But, I guess that doesn’t really concern me. I haven’t spoken to most of them since they left.

(/continues what she was doing before and folds the towels accordingly before piling them off to the side of the counter and grins at the other) It's okay, (/whispers loudly) I know you missed me too! (/chuckles and quickly ducks behind the counter to put the towels away but to also avoid the potential glare that could be coming her way)

(/abruptly gets up, and brings her face really close to his before flaring her nostrils at him) Fine, ya old fart. Hmph. (/turns around so fast her hair flips in his face as she heads out the door, shutting it behind her but pops her head back in two seconds later only yell) And for the record, I do not snore! (/gives an obvious childish scowl before slamming the door and leaving again)

(/pops up from behind the front desk, holding a dirty towel in one hand and a cleaner one in the other, looking extremely surprised at her random visitor) Oh my.. Hey SooSoo! What brings you here? (/beams)

I can’t work with you in here, you snore as loud ad a bear and no one could get anything with that noise. (`whines) Come on Sun, get your ass up.

(/lifts her head momentarily only to calmly shush him before returning to her faced down position, speaking muffled) I won't snore, I promise. Just pretend I'm not here. It's not that hard. You're a big boy, you know how to ignore people. (/shifts around and settles when a  certain comfortable position is found)
