Don't Push (Epilogue and Thank yous)
Rating: I’m so emotionally right now I’m actually a little nauseous.
Notes: Uhhhh I don’t actually know where to start.
About four months ago I started a little Shenga story and the notes literally looked like this
Venko fucks it up, Shep yells at them, kaidan and shep bonding scene, kaidan and james fuck and then talk about their feelings, arrive at citadel, drunk, threesome, profit???? maybe talk to another alien in there about sex and gender.
And then I wrote fifty thousand words about it.
I need to thank the puppy pile and anyone in and around it who wrote Shenga first, for giving it life in a way that was so damn inspiring. fragilespark, delazeur, commanderlurker, libbabink, arandomfactoid, spectrezhulik all wrote fic and meta that melted my heart and brain into a pile of Shenga flavoured goo.
I need to thank people who have been reading and liking and commenting and squeeing over every chapter, because that motivation was absolutely invaluable when it came to overcoming bouts of self doubt and lack of motivation, so that’s the above mentioned and people like thecryoftheseagulls, rosevoiced babywarrior5, teadrinkingdragon, inconocible, azalulu, becominglolalu, shadoedseptmbr, and the people who’ve been commenting on Ao3 who I can’t ping here, but trust me, every comment and kudos is a fucking gem.
People who dropped in a quietly hearted a chapter or two, I noticed you guys too, don’t you think I didn’t. womanistgamergirl, mageandserenity mellyzn pushingsian andamarthiel, firstenchanter the-page-mistress, stillnotgoodatthis… I’m probably missing a few but you guys rock too, and honestly I’m pinging to let you know it’s done if you want to read the whole thing, hehe.
I have to thank tess-is-elated from the bottom of my little fangirl heart for being the person to point out Shenga even existed, for being the person to come up with the idea for Shenga with a queer!Vega basis in the first place and for doing all the proof reading and advice giving and hand holding through all the moments when I was stuck.
I also need to thank worstcommander for writing what was probably the story that started it all for me.
