summary: Alexandra's birthday starts quietly, but you don't let it stay that way. Silk sheets, expensive perfume, and the kind of attention she pretends she doesn't crave, until you give it to her.

The hotel room smells like her. Soft florals, something expensive, something warm. The curtains are half drawn, the city glowing faintly beyond the glass. She's standing in front of the mirror when you come out of the bathroom, hair still damp, wearing nothing but a silk robe she clearly planned to take off later.

"You're staring," she says without turning around.

"You're stunning," you reply, honest.

She smiles at her reflection. "It is my birthday." She turns then, slow and deliberate, eyes dragging over you in the same way. You feel it immediately; that quiet pull between you, the kind that doesn't need noise.

You step closer. One hand slides to her waist, fingers grazing bare skin beneath the robe. "Did you have a good day?" you murmur.

She hums. "Perfect. But unfinished."

You dip your head, kissing along her jaw, down her neck. She tilts her head back automatically, breath catching. "You always get like this on your birthday," you tease.

"And you always take advantage."

You smile against her skin. "You like it."

She exhales sharply when your hand slips inside the robe, palm warm against her stomach. Her fingers curl into your shoulder, nails pressing just enough to ground herself. "Touch me," she says softly. Not a request. An expectation.

You push the robe open and let it fall to the floor, watching her skin catch the low light. You take your time, hands exploring, mouth following. Every kiss feels intentional.

She sinks onto the edge of the bed, pulling you with her, legs spreading instinctively. You kneel between them, looking up at her like this is where you belong.

"Birthday girl," you murmur.

She laughs breathlessly. "Stop talking."

You don't stop touching. Your mouth is slow, teasing, building her up until she's gripping the sheets, thighs trembling around your shoulders. She's quiet at first, until she isn't. "Please," she whispers, fingers tangling in your hair.

You smile against her. "There she is."

When she comes, it's soft but intense, her hand clamping over her mouth to keep from making too much noise. You don't stop until she's shaking, breath stuttering.

You climb onto the bed with her, kissing her deeply, tasting her on your tongue. She pulls you closer, hands roaming now, greedy.

"My turn," she says. She flips you beneath her with surprising confidence, straddling you slowly. Her movements are unhurried, deliberate. She watches your reactions like she's memorising them.

"You spoil me every year," she murmurs, fingers slipping between you. "I adore that about you."

You gasp, hips lifting. "Alex-"

She kisses you to quiet you, slow and deep, rocking her hand just right. She doesn't rush. She doesn't need to. When you finally come apart beneath her, she watches closely, eyes dark and satisfied.

She collapses beside you afterward, limbs tangled, skin warm against yours. "Happy birthday," you whisper.

She smiles lazily, eyes half closed. "Best present."

Monaco is one of the most famous races in Formula 1, but it’s also one of the most criticised. For new fans, it can feel confusing why such a slow, quiet race is treated like such a big deal.

Here’s why.

🚗 The Track Is Too Narrow

Monaco was not designed for modern F1 cars.

• Streets are extremely tight • Corners are slow • There’s almost no room side-by-side

Modern cars are simply too big to race properly here.

🚫 Overtaking Is Almost Impossible

Monaco has: • Very few braking zones • No real straights • Minimal run-off

If you qualify ahead, you usually finish ahead.

Most overtakes only happen: • In the pits • After crashes • With safety cars

⏱ Qualifying Matters More Than the Race

At Monaco: • Saturday is more important than Sunday • Pole position often wins the race • The race becomes a procession

🛞 Strategy Is Extremely Limited

Because overtaking is so hard: • Teams play it safe • Drivers manage pace • Risk-taking is punished

📉 The 2025 Two-Pit Stop Rule

🧪 What Changed

For the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, Formula 1 introduced a mandatory two-pit stop rule: every driver had to use three different sets of tyres — effectively forcing two pit stops during the race. 

This was designed to: • Add strategic complexity • Force teams to think differently • Potentially create more action

Since Monaco’s dry races were usually only one stop anyway, the idea was to spark more variables. 

Why It Didn’t Work

Even with two stops, overtaking still wasn’t happening — because the track is still impossible to pass on. So teams looked for loopholes.

Here’s what actually happened: • Teams like Racing Bulls and Williams used their second driver to slow the pack intentionally. • That created big gaps so their main driver could pit without losing positions. • This wasn’t breaking any rules — just clever tactics. 

So instead of more actual racing, the field got manipulated pit tactics that still didn’t produce on-track overtakes.

🔁 The Russell & Albon Incident

George Russell (Mercedes) had a frustrating Sunday stuck behind Alex Albon (Williams), who was holding up the pack to help his teammate’s strategy. Eventually:

• Russell cut the Nouvelle Chicane to pass Albon — which is illegal. • He refused to give the place back, saying on the radio he’d “take the penalty” rather than sit behind slower cars. • The stewards gave him a drive-through penalty for gaining an advantage. 

Russell later explained that because his qualifying was so poor, he had nothing to lose and just wanted to enjoy some real driving, even if it meant a penalty.

💬 What Drivers Joked About After the Race

Because the rule still didn’t fix the core problem — overtaking — drivers made suggestions about how to make the race more fun. Those ideas included:

🌧 Sprinklers

George Russell jokingly suggested that each driver should have a button to trigger sprinklers around the track — adding rain and chaos, making Monaco more unpredictable. 

🍌 Mario Kart Bananas

Max Verstappen compared the race to Mario Kart with these weird tactics and said they might as well throw bananas on track like in the game if they wanted real spectacle. 

These comments were obvious jokes, but they reflect wider frustration that even experimental rules can’t easily solve Monaco’s racing problem.
