Currently imagining Rei and Rin having an ok-ish/mutual relationship/friendship idk wtf to call it that started since Rin started absorbing Rei's excess essence when his essence is going haywire.

Like since Rei's episodes sometimes causes him to have too much essence (if I remember correctly) Rin would be the perfect person for Rei to have especially if his episodes happen somewhere where/during a time he can't have sex or anything cause Rin has no essence and can absorb others' essence.

And it'd be beneficial to both of them too cause Rei's essence will stablise and Rin would be able to have essence to do stuff for a while.

And even if they don't do that, they would probably still have an ok-ish relationship cause Rei keeps terrorising Rin about the Gemstone Altars-
