I painted this tiny (palm-sized) metal cycling figurine for my dad for Christmas, customized to look like his bike and his riding group's jersey 🚲
Gifts for my sister this year: a portrait of her beast cat, and her annual couple's portrait with demanded Halloween theme 🎃🎄
I made something for the first time in what feels like years. Hi, how is everyone?
Woah, I'm back! And with an exciting project I was asked to be a part of!
CHIRP (The Chicago Independent Radio Project) has kicked off their Spring Membership Drive, and a t-shirt I designed is one of the donation prizes! CHIRP was also a sponsor for the Chicago Zine Fest this year, and is just an all-around great organization. Click through to see all of the donation tiers and prizes, and to show your support if you're able to.

Hey, here's an interview I did with Gaper's Block about this Thursday's Laydeez Do Comics event! Maybe give it a read, and also maybe consider checking out the event at Quimby's (1854 W North Ave) at 7p Halloween Night! In addition to talking about the way I've progressed into autobio comics, I'm probably going to use some of my allotted time to read one of the stories from Rememberies, which I'm looking forward to doing!

See ya on there!

Hallowzine is THIS FRIDAY! Chicago folks, we’d love to see your faces! How could you say no to that stellar crew of readers?
Tonight! Tonight! See you there!
For a cool new club we should all start and then be in.
[[I'm just glad he didn't turn out lookin' more like a Bort than a Bart, yeesh.]]
In addition to reading at Hallowzine on Oct 25, I'll also be presenting at the October gathering of the Laydeez do Comics Chicago chapter on Halloween! Laydeez do Comics is a once-monthly salon that focuses on autobiographical narratives in comics. It was started in London in 2009, and the Chicago chapter began at the beginning of this year.

See you on Oct 25th for a spooky-scary comic reading! It's another chance to see me read The Grimes Sisters Murders, the true, unsolved mystery of the disappearance and murders of Barbara and Patricia Grimes in 1950s Chicago. I don't know how many more times I'll be reading this particular story, so come check it out if you missed it before! And look at that great line-up of Chicago zinesters/performers I get to share the stage with! Hope to see you there!
I've taken a long, accidental break from drawing pretty much since CAKE ended. I don't feel good about it, but that's what's happening.
However, I did get this fun pictogram (ideogram?) project at my still-relatively-new job yesterday, and it felt really good to draw tiny little pictures again. So maybe (hopefully) I'll get back to my old ways soon.
I've got some events coming up at the end of this month, more on that later!
It's October again, so I'm bringin' back what was probably my greatest artistic accomplishment. Dancing Pumpkin Man 4ever <3<3<3
