ISO WIP tags to binge read.
If your WIP fits these or you know someone’s who does, please link or mention it in the replies!! send a message, send an ask, reach out to me.
I love:
adventure! fantasy, magic, action without being heavy on the action part. witches, fantasy creatures, high fantasy, low fantasy, modern fantasy, whatever you may have.
found family / intense platonic relationships. also, pining. platonic or romantic. people who only have each other, them against the world. strong sibling relationships. strong parent/child relationships.
I don’t really like:
angels and demons
space (but i will make exceptions if it’s not… super spacey. idk)
What I’m willing to try:
anything else! i am drawing a blank so please, throw all your wip tags at me.
Y’all the S key on my keyboard just randomly cracked in half
Powered through and finished the Hel intro without it anyway bc I’m a bad bitch
Nothing will stop you. Nothing will slow you down.
Shatter the S key, because it will not shatter you.
...*goes to bed now*
if u see yourself on the side of the road kill it
this may or may not have been the story I finished yesterday, except the side of the road is actually hearing yourself on a radio station.

writing is great because you never know if today's a "i can write 200 chapters in a day because god cant stop me" or a "i cant type a single word"
Gentle truths and kind honesty for writers
💜 Because truth doesn’t have to be harsh and honesty doesn’t have to be brutal to be meaningful.
📢 Not everyone’s opinion matters Don’t accept criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from. You get to decide whose feedback is relevant and why. You do not have to explain or justify this to anyone. When you share things you create on the internet, whether you ask for feedback or not, you’ll probably get it. And you are allowed to consider the source of that feedback and decide whether it’s helpful or better off ignored. This also applies to writing tips, advice, rules etc. Learn from people whose writing you respect and enjoy, and whose approach to teaching aligns with your approach to learning.
🤷♀️ Some people will love what you do, some people will hate it, and most people won’t care Not everyone is your audience and that’s OK. If someone doesn’t enjoy what you do, they’re someone else’s audience. Also, it’s highly unlikely that everyone, or even the majority of people, who encounter any creative work will have a strong opinion on it in either direction. I don’t know about you, but I find that comforting.
👀 Write for the audience you want, not the audience you’re scared of Nothing is for everyone and it doesn’t have to be. You are under no obligation to impress some (usually hypothetical) rando who isn’t into what you create. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by stress in a world, and on an internet, where so many people view putting others down as the best way to seem like an authority, but those people most likely aren’t worth your time and energy. Write for the people who share your excitement about your genre, for example. They’re your people.
📝 Improvement comes from doing Yes, it’s useful to absorb information and education, and it’s helpful to learn about how other people approach their writing. But it’s also necessary to actually write, to put what you learn into practice, to allow yourself to make mistakes and to fix them as you grow. It’s OK to be at the beginning of your journey. It’s OK not to feel amazing about what you create all the time. But you WILL get better with practice, and part of this process is to allow yourself to experiment. Try taking off some of the pressure and explore how you might flourish.
🧘♀️ It’s good to challenge yourself, but your comfort zone is not a bad place I’ve written in genres I don’t naturally gravitate towards. I’ve written a series because I’d already tried writing short stories, novellas and novels. I’ve written for specific platforms even though their demographic wasn’t who I would usually write for. In trying things that pushed me, I found my voice and I learned to recognise when I was on the right track compared to when I wasn’t. Now I write what I love with joy and confidence because I actually know what that is and am open to it evolving authentically. So while it’s great to get outside of your comfort zone and learn from that, it’s also OK to settle into writing the genres, styles, kinds of character, or length of story you love if that’s genuinely what you vibe with.
📖 You don’t have to label yourself as a [whatever] writer I’m not talking about publishing and marketing here. That’s a whole ‘nother thing. I’m talking about you, personally, finding fulfilment in variety if that’s how it goes. You are under no obligation to give up on exploration and excitement in your writing just to be able to say “I write [only this thing]”. Not everyone is a [whatever] writer. You might have themes that you come back to, or you might not. You might prefer one genre but also enjoy others, or you might not. And it’s all good. It’s alright to be a writer without having a label beyond that.
📅 You do not have to write every day You can if you want to. But you don’t have to. No matter what job, hobby, or anything in between a person might have, it’s perfectly fine (and healthy and positive) to take breaks, have days off, set it aside, recharge and refill and come back to it. If you doubt that, replace 'writer’ with some other thing people do and see if it sounds ridiculous. You’re not a real surgeon unless you work seven days a week. You’re not a real windsurfer or gardener or cheesemaker unless you’re doing the thing literally every single day. Bizarre, right?
🥰 I hope this post finds its way to the eyes of people who need it. Wishing you all the creative joy on your writing journey!
Writeblr Intro!
This is not my first foray into writblr but hopefully I wanted to make it stick this time around.
ABOUT ME
You can call me Stella or Stelios. You can use generally he/she/they as far as pronouns, I find I'm not super duper picky.
26.
I'm White/Peruvian.
My main is @girasoleclipse! I can follow from there if you have a main.
Typically I use she/they pronouns. However, I am pretty lenient and don't mind any pronouns being used for me.
I am a college graduate, with my degree being Creative Writing with a focus in fiction. Writing has weaved in and out of my life, but telling stories is what I like to do.
I would love to get into editing and publishing. As a bigger dream, I'd love to publish at least one novel. I have also considered going back to school to maybe become a librarian?
My interests also include drawing, and making amvs. I love Pokemon and magical girls.
ABOUT MY WRITING + GOAL
My main goal really is to push myself into writing my originals works and plan - I've sort of fallen since graduating and my ever-changing work schedule. I hope with this I can find like-minded people and get the boost I need.
My preferences of writing would be fantasy and sci-fi - that is the aim of the kinds of stories I want to write. The subgenre will come along in a way that feels right. (This is what happens to me and my brain having so many ideas - characters get made first, the rest comes later.)
I will read fantasy and sci-fi - I don't really know if I have certain or particular things that grasp me that I am aware of. Whatever clicks, I like. I also really enjoy dystopias.
When it comes to writing myself - expect a lot of character dynamics. Parents, siblings. Uhh expect a majority of my main protagonists to be into something art. And a lot of powers or magic.
MY PROJECTS
(Please note the majority of these are still in the early planning / plotting stages so expect a majority of things to change as I process them all. Some are a little more developed than others.)
HALOS AND POPPIES WIP // So this is kind of trying to become my little brainchild project. I have two main protagonists, Salima "Sellie" Wakefield and Orazio Ventura and it involves psychic powers basically. It's all very bare bones but I am making an effort.
-
I do have more ideas - but they are more in the form of characters. I have a lot of character ideas but not stories to put them in, so this above really is trying to be shaped into one. I think as I create more concrete ideas that I am comfortable with, I will make specific posts for such a thing.
I am looking for tumblrs to follow and hopefully we can take on the wonderful and sometimes frustrating world of writing!!
hello, welcome! i really like to write fantasy and sci-fi too! also what’s ur favorite pokémon 👹 mine is arcanine 💥
I've sussed it, team. Van Helsing's problem is that he's Wrong Genre Savvy
But mush, you say, how is that possible? He's the one character here who knows he's in the novel Dracula
Incorrect! Van Helsing knows he's in a vampire story. But the novel Dracula is not just any vampire story. The novel Dracula is about the Power of Friendship and Document Review. And van Helsing is (with every good intention) actively working against the Power of Friendship (and Document Review) because he thinks he's in the Brilliant Professor van Helsing Cleverly Defeats the Vampire novel. That is, he thinks he's in one of any number of Dracula adaptations, when in fact he is in the novel Dracula.
He's not going to make any real progress until the avatar of the Power of Friendship and also Document Review returns from enjoying her Friendship (new husband) and Documents (his sealed diary) in Budapest
Don't hide this frickin gold in the tags @picklepie888

WIP Update: Call Me Icarus
Wednesday, September 14th || Complete Re-Write
Lmao so fun fact: when you get overwhelmed and hate everything you've ever made it's very cathartic to start again from scratch.
Anyways, I spent the weekend completely re-writing Call Me Icarus without the chapter structure. Turns out I get too pressured by it and blow through the plot.
With this re-write, I am sitting at 17,474 words total, about 65 pages with my new set up.
As always, the excerpts are below the cut!
OC Song Ask Game
I have nothing to do and I’ve always wanted to create an ask game so here goes! (Maybe this could count for STS too, who knows)

Published Writeblrs
I’m writing up some reading goals for myself for the last few months of the year, and one of the things I would like to try to do is read more books by Writeblrs. I’m putting together a list of the ones I know of, but there’s definitely ones out there that I don’t know about.
If you are a Writeblr with a published work or know of a published book from a Writeblr author, could you please provide the title and the penname?
If not, signal boosts are appreciated.
I am ALWAYS here to shoutout the talented writers I’ve met!!!
If you saw me make this same post in my beta discord…shh no you didn’t
This post got really long really fast, so I’ll put the details under a readmore. The quick list is below!
The Stray Spirit by @ashen-crest: cozy fantasy
How Zelda Married Death by @audreyrosebooks: fantasy romance novella
The Songbird’s Refrain by @byjillianmaria: YA suspense

I also wanna mention these published writeblrs: @spacetimewraithwrites, @mayakern, and @shiraglassman. (I know there are more, this is just what I have off the top of my morning-brain-mush head. please rb this and add yourself if you don’t see yourself here!!)
thanks! If you’re looking for book titles: I have a few more but Knit One Girl Two is contemporary romance and The Olive Conspiracy is fantasy… also I’d like to suggest @thesylverlining for Chameleon Moon (apocalyptic) and Moon-Bright Tides (fantasy)
OH and also @b-a-pigeon and @fellamarsh ! I particularly recommend Worm In A Jar and Poised in Either Eye.
Do you read erotica? Do you have opinions about how erotic language is used? Good news! I've got a survey for that ~
Included in this survey are a series of questions that aim to discover preferred English vocabulary choices for use by romance and erotica w
As a new erotica writer, finding the sweet spot between clarity and sex appeal in a scene can be challenging - like really, bemusingly, cringingly challenging. Scouring the web, I quickly found that I'm not the only writer facing this problem. Yet, there seems to be little to no wholistic data out there to serve as a guiding light.
That's where you come in! If you're an erotica reader with some free time (and some strong opinions on the topic) make your voice heard!
Feel free to share and repost ! There's a quick Q&A under the cut if you want some more info:
Ty to everyone sharing this on discord that's so great! I haven't seen any results come in from reddit, twitter, or instagram yet so if you know of any erotica communities over yonder I'd be so appreciative of a share or two <3
Apocalyptic literature needs to be weirder. Too many psychopath lone wanderers and machine-worshipping cults, not enough people devoted to copying fanfic by hand in fandomonasteries.
