*he watched as the gold crept up the gloves of the man in front of him, the moment they reached his skin he shut his eyes and turned away, not being able to bear what he’s done. this is exactly what he was trying to avoid and now it was over. everything was over*

“No- Please-“

*after a few seconds he finally opened his eyes and looked up, expecting to be faced with a golden statue, twisted and tainted by his “blessing”. instead he was met with a flesh and blood person, just as shocked as he was. montague’s glove glimmered golden as the rays of the setting sun reflected off of it, but his flesh underneath was completely unaffected and untouched*

“What.. What the hell..”

*Perse had been sleeping on the couch for a few hours now, xer grumbled as they heard the yelling. Xe slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes, keeping the blanket around his body as zer looked towards the two men arguing*

"Hey- why are you guys yelling?? I was sleepin-"

*he stood there in shock staring at his now golden glove before his eyes went to stare at Midas with almost disbelief at what just happened, almost unwilling to believe it torn between feeling grateful that he was unharmed and a slight fear he wouldn't admit*

"You just.. I'm not..."

*he didn't finish his sentence as his expression hardened again as all all the emotions inside him started to rise at once and all he could do was shake his head and turn away, clutching at his golden glove as he walked out the door without looking back, not wanting anyone in the room to see the shine of tears in his eyes*

"I'll be in the basement. have your space, asshole."

“You- This is exactly what i was fucking talking about!”

*he raised his voice as the panic slowly settled in, taking a step towards the man before he noticed the rustling on the couch*

“Perse it’s- I’m sorry I just- gods why now-“

*he mumbled, not even sure who he was apologising to. he watches as Montague held onto his glove with an unreadable expression on his face, and he could feel his stomach churn. still, he decided to stay quiet as the man stormed out of the house and slammed the door behind himself.*

*Midas let out a shaky sigh as he fell back onto the couch and collapsed onto himself, pressing his head on his knees and folding his arms over the back of his neck, a string of barely understandable words and curses leaving his mouth*

*Perse watched as Midas walked to the couch and sat down. Xey were still kinda out of it as he looked at Midas. Perse didn't really know what to do, so xer scooted closer and wrapped the blanket around xer and Midas.*

“Careful.. I don’t think I can.. control it. Don’t want you to get hurt..”

*Midas mumbled, his voice muffled by the way he was sitting. He felt Perse wrap the blanket around him and his heart rate picked up, tears of frustration welling up in his eyes, thankfully not visible to anyone else. He lowered his hands from his neck and wrapped them around himself, not caring that his jacket was already beginning to turn gold. He had a few spare ones at least*

“I didn’t want to wake you up just.. everything’s happening at once and i don’t- don’t think I’m taking it too well..”
