Home to many 24-hour donut shops, Los Angeles is arguably the donut capital of the UnitedStates. L.A.’s passion for donuts at all hours of the day is a testament to its iconic car culture andvast network of highly traveled roads and freeways. As a result, Los Angeles is a city void of acenter, a matrix of neighborhoods with unique cultural identities. ForYourArt uses the donut as ametaphor to highlight a city that boasts multiple hubs of energy, each with its distinctivepersonality and flavor.
In addition to serving free donuts and coffee for guests migrating to and from LACMA’s screeningof The Clock at the Bing Theater, ForYourArt will offer information about The Clock , including twonewly commissioned essays on the work by art critics Andrew Berardini and Ed Schad.Over 2,500 donuts were served at the first Around the Clock: 24 Hour Donut City , ForYourArt’sfirst activity at 6020 Wilshire Blvd. Donut selections were made by food writer and Top ChefJudge Krista Simmons.
