Every year for Earth Day, Ann Blanche Smith Elementary School sent us home with little saplings and every year, I planted it in my parents’ backyard. One year, the tree actually grew! This year, more than 20 years later, my parents moved and we talked about them taking the tree but I told them I wouldn’t be hurt if they didn’t. So I assumed it stayed.
