CAMILLE RAST (Sui) wins the silver medal in the Olympic women's slalom on February 18th 2026 in Cortina d'Ampezzo behind Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) and ahead of Anna Swenn Larson (Swe).
nah okay i have to go on the rant - i know it's been said before but!
i fucking hate how the cameras at these olympics are treating these athletes like they're reality show contestants. and there's nuance to this statement obviously - i do like the footage from the containers ahead of the medal ceremony for example and i love it when they show sweet little moments in the preparation or in the finish. you also get to show the big emotions obviously - but it fucking has to be within a limit.
when lindsey was lying on that hill and screaming, we didn't have to keep zooming in. we didn't have to replay the crash.
when atle completely crashed out just now. after we all know that he's had really shit olympic games while dealing with his grandpa's death. we didn't have to follow him with the camera straight into the woods. we didn't have to zoom in and keep following his tantrum when there were medal winners to put on the big stage. he was clearly trying to take himself out of the public eye, to have that breakdown without cameras on him. now they've not only made it public to all of us, they've also made it seem like he was disrespecting the podium AND they've disrespected the podium themselves by focusing on this instead of them.
seriously. i just don't get it.
Okay but PaweÅ WÄ sek with an olympic medal wasn't on my bingo card
