Some facts about Sanzō Wada:

he was also an accomplished costume designer. He has won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design in 1953 for his work in the movie Gate to Hell;

he is also known for a series of colour studies (Haishoku Soukan, 1933-1934) which were later re-adapted into the two volumes of A Dictionary of Color Combinations (2011, 2020). An amazing online visualizer of the color combinations featured in the first volume can be found here.
