The dinner went well without any incident and her house was left in one piece; aside from the small statue that thunder hands knocked over, but it was okay. He gave her a title so she let it slide. Right now though, she needed some girl time and for some reason her, Jane and Darcy have become close in the small amount of time that they’re known each other.

To be quite honest they were better company to keep than some of the people she’s has to deal with as of late. Which is why she’s invited over, if only to get some gossip about how their nights went after they went their separate ways. The blonde hears them approaching before they even knock on the door and Emma opens it with a smile on her face.

“Well don’t just stand there. Come in.”

Jane was feeling a little better after her day at work. The latte Thor had given her worked along with the Tylenol and three cups of coffee that she drank afterwards. But she’s sure all that was going to go down the drain now that she was going to spending an evening with Emma and Darcy; and both of them liked to party and drink. 

Not only that but they were going to dry and ring her dry about the events that took place after she left the party. Which was going to be a boring and embarrassing story of how she puked in a bush and Thor had to carry her inside. She meets Darcy at the top of the stairs and they greet each other just as Emma opens the door.

“Hello Emma. Thanks for having us over.” She says with a smile as she walks inside the telepath’s home alongside Darcy.

Thor had tried to be quiet, he really had, he had swung by Jane’s place figuring she would probably be sick because of all the drinking of the previous but of course, he should have known that something like that wouldn’t keep her from work so, he made his way towards SHIELD’s HQ making one quick stop along the way, he found Jane in the kitchen looking a little miserable and he couldn’t help the small amused smile as he looked for a plate, he winced as he accidentally closed the cabinet too loudly and after making sure he didn’t break it he placed the wrapped up food on the plate.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to worsen your pain, I figured you wouldn’t be feeling all that great today so I went and got food and lattes.” He said smiling before placing the sandwich in front of her.

“Don’t worry, I didn’t make it, I bought it.”

Jane looks at Thor when he walks in, blinking slowly once she sees the food and lattes on the table. “Oh...that was very kind of you. Thanks.” The brunette smiles softly and grabs the sandwich, unwrapping it and she pauses, looking down at it. Luckily she was wearing her sunglasses so Thor doesn’t have to see the tears forming in her eyes, but she sniffs a little, picking up the sandwich between her hands. She can’t believe that he actually remembers what kind of breakfast sandwich she likes to eat. And it’s so perfect, the right amount of egg and cheese. Jane sniffs again, a valiant attempt to keep her tears at bay. “It’s perfect.” She says and takes a bite of the sandwich before reaching for the latte to take a sip.

Getting drunk was probably the worst thing that Jane could have ever done. She hasn't been this hungover since her graduation from college. She hardly remembers anything from. There's flashes of Kurt, Darcy and Thor in her head. She might have even had conversation with Emma, but it's all a big blur now.

Having to get ready for work was a drag and walking into SHIELD with all its glass and bright lights was torture and she quickly shoved her sunglasses on her face before walking into the kitchen to grab herself some coffee.

And that's how she is, sitting on a stool slumped over on the counter top, with a cup of hot coffee in her hand. There's a bang of the cabinet closing and Jane frowns.

"can you try to keep it a little quiet?"

Thor just shrugged, “I don’t really know but when I got there I was strapped to a chair and Loki had already networked around and gotten into… Uh… The Grandmasters good graces.” He said frowning at the memory, he tensed a little at first, when he felt the weight of her head on his leg but as he got lost in the memory of Sakaar and his tale, his hand fell, almost automatically, like a habit, to her head and he began runnings his fingers through her hair. “Ah, we will… But only if it’s safe, there are these scavengers that classify any live creature as fighter or food… NO! That man… No, I don’t know where he is but I hope he never sets foot on Earth, he is hair cutting, people melting, cheater weirdo.”

Jane hums softly at the feeling of Thor’s fingers in her hair and she slightly jumps at his outburst about the Grandmaster. “Alright, so no meeting the hair cutting, people melting, cheating weirdo.” She repeats before pulling the blanket more around herself. “Sorry I asked.” Jane mumbles out lowly before succumbing to sleep. Finally.

Thor sat on the bed next to Jane, resting his back against the headboard and smiled at her, “Portals, all around, Loki called upon his gatekeeper to bring us back to Asgard and Hela, my evil older sister, jumped in after us, she pulled Loki out first and a couple of seconds later she pushed me out of the Bifrost, we both ended up in Sakaar but Loki arrived there weeks before me. Time and space works differently there, I’m not sure how though… Yes, he melted this guy called Carlo and the smell was just… Awful.” Thor winced at the memory of the smell. “I never asked Korg what happened with Sakaar during the revolution or the Grandmaster but I’ll do next time I see him, he was very angry at me for stealing his Champion.”

Jane scoots closer to him, stops for a second but then moves closer to rest her head on his leg. She listens as he talks, taking in all the information that he’s telling her. “A few seconds equates to three weeks?” She asks, letting out a yawn before talking again. “We really have to go there now, or at least I have to study one of the portals that leads there because there’s so much science that needs to be discovered in that.” She blinks slowly a couple times before they close by themselves. “Grandmaster? Is he in New Asgard too, because I would like to meet him.”

Bruce made his way to Jane’s lab. He was glad that he was finally able to get down to business. She had mentioned wanting to go out to all the blocked off sections and gather her own analyzes to test. Bruce didn’t think it was a good idea, but he also knows that once a scientist made up their mind; there was no changing it. So he offered to go with her.

He knocks on her door before stepping inside.

“Have you found anything yet?”

Jane has been asking since day one if should could go out and get her own samples and everyday she gets met with a no. It’s tiring and frustrating and it’s making Jane rather angry. So she settles for the second hand samples until she gets a call from Bruce offering to go with her and she shouldn’t accept it. Nit because Bruce isn’t a great person, but because she shouldn’t have to have someone going with her. She’s a big girl who can handle herself. Though, she accepts his offer and of course that’s get the magic yes that the scientist has been looking for. Now it’s just having a pick a time to go out. 

Glancing back at Bruce, she smiles before going back to the petri dish on her table. “Nothing exciting yet. Sorry to disappoint.”

Thor smiled. “Sakaar is no place for you to visit but I reckon you would have wanted to, the whole planet is filled with portals of different sizes that can take you to pretty far away places, to get back to Asgard on time we had to go through the Devil’s anus. Last time I was there we… ah instigated a revolution and there’s the Grandmaster and his melting stick but I think you’d probably want to go through every single portal.”

“Portals?” Jane repeats sleepily. “I do like portals but I don’t know if I would want to go through a portal that’s named the Devil’s Anus.” She says narrowing her eyebrows. “A melting stick? Like he melted people with it?” Jane pauses for a bit. “I wonder what energy mechanisms it has in order to melt a whole person.” She blinks a couple times. “We’re going to have to go there. Just for the portals.”

Thor was stepping back when he heard the request and stopped in his tracks, he didn’t know if he should, was this something people from Earth did? He wasn’t sure though he had seen it happen a lot in movies, back then he hadn’t really bothered to ask what it meant or if it even meant anything at all, still, he had never been particularly good at denying her anything and he turned around, he took off his jacket, vest, and shoes and got as comfortable as possible while still clothed and took a seat on the bed next to her, resting his back on the headboard. “Fear not, I will stay until you fall asleep.” He promised, he had failed her with the Thanos situation and he had done so again after they reversed the snap, he could stand guard until she fell asleep.

Jane did not expect Thor to get into bed with her, but she isn’t going to complain. Once he’s settled she turns around onto her other side to face him. She’s always been drawn to his heat and this time isn’t any different, but she keeps the small space of distance between them. A yawn falls from her lips and Jane is trying to fight off sleep, but it’s consuming her quickly. “So...what other planets have you visited so far?”

Jane has always wanted to do Thor’s hair, always enthralled by the long blonde locks. She’s a bit surprised when he shrugs and says yes nonchalantly and she happily sits on the couch as he takes a seat on the floor. She runs her fingers through his hair a couple times before she decides to braid it. Jane keeps the same pretense of his hair, with the ponytail but she adds a few more braids, making sure to put his leather pieces back in. Once she’s finished she pats his shoulders gently. “All done big guy.” Jane says with a smile.

Everything was going fine. They were starting to break the ice and tread into a friendship, though for Jane it’s very hard being Thor’s friend, she was just…his. But for whatever reason, rather it be fate, the cosmos, some all powerful being controlling their every move, the conversation of their break-up rears its ugly head again.

It’s difficult trying to explain her reasoning without it seeming like she never cared about him or their relationship at all. It’s far from the truth. Jane loved him with every fiber in her being and letting him go was the most devastating thing she’s ever done in her life. But, at the time, she felt like she had too.The conversation starts slow and cautious and it builds up to shouting and then there’s tears and they’re standing on opposite sides of her kitchen. She gets why he would question her love for him, why he felt as though she didn’t love him as much as he loved her. Jane approaches him slowly, reaching up to cup his face gently, using her thumb to wipe away at a stray tear. She pulls him down some to rest their foreheads together. “I’m sorry that I ever made you feel inadequate or unworthy of my love; you never were.” You never will be.

Thor looked up with a smile and shrugged his shoulders as he walked into the kitchen, he went around opening cabinets and closing them a little more forceful than he probably should until he found a glass and he filled with water, he placed his hand on Jane’s back and gently guided her back to her room, he pulled back the covers and placed the glass on the nightstand and eased her to lay down. “Always,” he vowed with a smile as he pulled the covers over her. “Rest, now Jane, tomorrow’s not going to be a fun day.” He said stepping back. “I should go now…”

Jane easily goes with the flow of Thor’s movements. This reminds her of all the times he had pulled her from her laptop or her lab and pushed her to bed to sleep. She situates herself in bed, looking up at him before reaching out to catch his hand before it’s too far out of her reach. Jane hesitates for a moment, not really sure where they stand. But she thinks it’s at least cordial, he did bring her home. “Can you stay? Just until I fall asleep.”
