Then came the hum.

Homelander landed without ceremony. No heat vision. No smirk. Just eyes—blue, unblinking, unreadable. 

"You’re late," she said. 

"I wasn’t invited," he replied. 

They stood in the ruins of belief. One born of legacy, the other of spectacle. Around them, the world crumbled. But neither moved. 

"You think this is about power?" she asked. 

"No," he said. "It’s about relevance." 

She didn’t flinch. Didn’t rise. Just stood tall.
