Hi, I'm Anndra, I'm from Scotland and learning gaelic. Im also fluent in Scots and English. Most of the stuff I post here will be reblogs about my interests or original posts will be in Scots or gaelic. When I post in gaelic it will be to mark my progress but also because I believe that these languages are an important part of Scots culture and we should post in them as part of their preservation.

Right going to change up how i post content and seperate it into a couple different blogs and have this one as my personal blog.

Does knowing me more leads to loving me less?

I'm going to preface this with I love the internet. But I do think it has ruined many things for us. So many of us won't take risks anymore due to the fear that it ends up online, many of us don't bother going onto the high street to shop anymore because it is much more convenient to look for it on amazon. For all the amazing things that the internet has done, build communities, allow for art to be shared without the need for galleries, made it easier to stay informed.

It has also ruined many people, many don't read anymore because why read a book on a subject when I can get the answers from google or AI? Why should I go out and meet people when I can talk to them from the comfort of my own home?

This convenience has made, community difficult. People no longer know their neighbours. I remember growing up being told, "can you go as john for a tub of sugar?" or my neighbour coming to me and asking for some salt. I remember playing on the street, and now the streets are empty. It's been such a fast change, I am only 23 yet I see the world now and I feel like I am in my forties.

While the internet has done a lot of good for a lot of things, it has also ruined many things. I no longer feel like I can ask to borrow stock off my neighbour. Community within towns and cities is dying and partially it is because of the internet. Attention spans are ruined, people's intrigue about the world around them is dwindling. Kids don't play on the street and adults don't have coffee with neighbours in the garden.

I love the internet, don't get me wrong. But I can't help but wonder if in some ways it has done more harm to our communities than good.
