the toun (2024)
Since Scots and Gàidhlig were only JUST recognized as languages, thought id share this video that is so relatable to every Scottish person.
I remember being constantly told to "speak properly" by my mum and teachers throughout childhood. Even though all our communication was interwoven with Scots, it was hammered into us that it was "unprofessional" and crude. I know they were just trying to protect us for the future but I wish I grew up learning Scots outside of Burns Night poems (the only socially acceptable time to speak it as a child).
On the other hand I went to a rough school where you'd get vaguely bullied by peers for using no Scots so it all balanced out in the end 😉🏴
Just to remind folks of this collection of Christmas and Hogmanay recipes

Did someone say domestic Swordvan? Feat. Sniper’s bombass new mataora 😎😎
I HC RED Sniper as being a reconnecting Maōri, because I think his story is extremely reminiscent of many reconnecting individuals— and I like to think Sniper and Demo call/speak to each other in the other person’s language, especially Demo; since I think he basically became fluent in Māori just for Snipes….
I honestly think Demo knows a lot of languages.
