it’s been CLOSE to a day since i got here, meaning i need to come up with SOME way of checking how much magic i have to see if it’s coming back as expected

THIS is a light rune. all you need to do to use it is put in some magic energy and it comes out as light, more energy put in, more light comes out. PRETTY SIMPLE

*they do realize the bird can’t understand this, right?*

SO, the plan is, every couple of hours, i try putting all my available magic energy into this to see if the brightness matches my expectations. pretty simple check to see if it’s coming back as it should :)

*… they’re pondering making another Escape Attempt*

*they shift to the edge of the bed and. yeah they’re not even gonna bother attempting to walk for this escape attempt. so they carefully slide down to the floor to start crawling towards the tent entrance*

Little Friend just watches. Moving every now and again to follow, but mostly watching.

*they stop for a while once the reach the entrance and just. lay there for a bit. looking outside to try and figure out which direction they’ll need to go*

There are mountains... everywhere. No real signs of civilization, actually...

*they grumble to themself a little bit*

*looks like it’ll have to be pick a random direction and start moving*

*so. after another while of annoyed grumbling. they start crawling off towards the left*

And the bird follows!

*and they continue crawling onwards! occasionally stopping for a while to rest. though those stops do seem to happen more frequently the further they go..*

*eventually, they give up on moving any further for now and just lay out on the ground, limbs shaking slightly from exhaustion*

*they stop for a while once the reach the entrance and just. lay there for a bit. looking outside to try and figure out which direction they’ll need to go*

*looks like it’ll have to be pick a random direction and start moving*

*so. after another while of annoyed grumbling. they start crawling off towards the left*

it’s been CLOSE to a day since i got here, meaning i need to come up with SOME way of checking how much magic i have to see if it’s coming back as expected

THIS is a light rune. all you need to do to use it is put in some magic energy and it comes out as light, more energy put in, more light comes out. PRETTY SIMPLE

*they do realize the bird can’t understand this, right?*

SO, the plan is, every couple of hours, i try putting all my available magic energy into this to see if the brightness matches my expectations. pretty simple check to see if it’s coming back as it should :)

*they decide to act like they’re ignoring the bird and stretches a bit. and. they have completely pretzeled themself. i have no clue how they did that. or how to accurately describe that. but they are now GLARING up at the bird, daring it to beat THIS*

It just stares back, acting like a completely normal bird that does not have the ability to do that or anything at all abnormal at all

*they go back to sitting normally, shaking themself off a little and looking VERY smug about winning that … whatever it was that just happened that was definitely Not At All Abnormal*
